The last note is not perfect, but she's not a saint. She's really wonderful. Such a young and perfect voice she has.
Her vocal stamina and agility is beyond unbelievable! I do not mind all the mannerism, scooping, sliding I just enjoy the clarity of her voice and beautiful expression and delivery.
Last Saturday (7 Febr 2015) she sang the aria again during her 45 year debut anniversary at the Vienna State Opera.
It was marvellous. Following her it even seems she is getting better in the last few years!!!
Hupjeflupje And she's nearly 70! I saw her in concert in Prague where she performed simple songs and as Norma in Munich a couple of years ago. Both occasions - she was splendid. However, I did not like her Lucrezia so I stopped following her recent performances.

Although I admire her stamina all these years it saddens me that all her little vocal habbits that used to be her personal touch, have now become excessive mannerisms. But the colour of the voice remains impressively bright and light.

an escuchado a monserrat cabale y ai nhoa arteta ,son muy buenas en el canto lirico se paso edita gruberova incluso supera al instrumento que toca el maestro es talento dado desde lo alto............

Ms, Ivanova does not "destroy" Lucia's madscene with her voice. The Queen of Bel Canto? That title should go to Callas or Sutherland.

the way she sings it. She used to choose to slide to a top note for effect once in a while, now she always does it and I don't think she has a choice. A habbit has become a mannerism. hope I was clear enough

oh my God, she is 60, how can you big queens throw stones at this voice? IMO, she is far superor than the bulimic waifs who grace the MET stage...you know who I mean....

I don't agree with you entirelly. I can accept one's position to be devoted to one diva or to one type of vocal interpretation but there are other singers too. Also, it's nonsense to compare Gruberova with world renowned reputation with Ivanova which is barelly known outside Bulgaria and Slovenia. Contexts matter!!!
