I think you're missing the point on gear ratios. The overall ratio of a gear is the trans ratio multiplied by the rear end ratio. The 8 and 10 speed has far better overall gearing than the 6 speed manual. For example, with the 8 speed the overall gear ratio in 1st is 4.56*2.77=12.63 vs the manual 2.66*3.73=9.92. The only advantage the manual has is less power loss to the wheels but nowadays its not a ton. Hope this helps.
On top of the fact my boys got his ass pushing 446 to the wheels lmao my A8 2017 1ss is doing 456 to the wheels Rn and that’s with just my first email back from pray Performance I’m probably gonna be around 480+ hopefully when remote tune is fully done

Actually the higher gear (numerically) you have will make less power than a lower gear on a Dyno. A 3.31 vs a 3.73 the 3.31 will make more power. If you didn't Dyno in 6th gear you left some power on the table, but I wouldn't want to Dyno in 6th anyways since it's such a tall gear you risk grenading a driveshaft.
I can confirm what he's saying too. You've got better gearing for highway rolls. If you get closer to his gears then you'll be better at the strip. Bigger number is about acceleration, smaller about top speed.
@@Cameron_Pena I wouldn't switch gears, although 6th gear is 1:1 5th gear has more torque multiplication and for an NA car your gunna want as much help gearing wise as you can get. The fastest NA 6th gen finishes in 4th gear so he eliminates the 5th gear bog and spends more time in the powerband than shifting.
In this video what TB and air intake were you running? Clean cut through the hood as well would you happen to have a general reference for that? Just got a 21’ LT1 started with headers, E85, and weight reduction so far.

Steeper gear ratio, numerically higher, do not present higher hp numbers. Actually lowers it. Taller gear ratio, numerically lower, present higher and more realistic hp numbers. 🇺🇸🙏
With the shorter gearing the manual 6th gens dyno in 4th which is their 1:1 gear. Vs the autos typically dyno in 5th which is not their 1:1. That’s where I believe the number difference comes from

I own a 2017 2ss Camaro and I know what kind of work I've done to my car there's no way this car is making 530 to the wheel with just bolt on it's sounds good to say for video purposes.
Lol, no just no. The autos have a huge torque ratio spread and shift faster than the H manuals ever can. The 10 speed autos first is 4.56, and is like having an old t350/400 with 4.56 or 4.88 gears in the rear even though they are 2.77, but it will also run right with the manual to a certain point in mph. Plus because of the torque spread and lack of rpm drop they are always in the meat of the power curve. The manuals take longer to shift and have much more shift recovery
