Quick question to slow down on manual bikes do you have to downshift everytime or can you hold the brakes and then when you come to a stop you go down in gears?
Both ways are right you can do either at any time I prefer to downshift just less wear on brakes and in case the Chan I’m already ready to pick my speed back up but you can do what you feel
@@Mikecheckmoto Awesome thanks 🙏one more thing can 250s take a quickshifter like other bigger bikes like the 300,600,1000? And if you have the time if your not busy can you make a video explaining/showing that you can either go down in gears to slow down or hold the brakes and when you can to a complete stop then go down on gears. It would be really helpful 🙂
@@physixyt9994 As my friend said to me in high school when I asked him the same question "I rather spend money replacing brake pads than spend the money to replace a clutch" In other words.. Brake pads are cheaper than a clutch. Youre better off using the brakes to slow down than put wear and tear on your clutch. Eventually youll become skilled with the bike where youll do a little of both with more wear and tear on the brake pads and only downshifting when you absolutely need to to slow down quicker plus it all depends on what youre slowing down for.. if its a turn you'll end up downshifting so you have your RPMS still high enough to gas it out of the turn and not being bogging down coming out of the turn. Theres different ways to brake too.. theres down shifting and braking, theres putting it in neutral and braking.. and then theres even people who just hold the clutch in.. but this last method probably not good for the clutch. Throwing it in neutral and braking is something you may do coming to a red street light and arent goign that fast to begin with.. everyone has their own riding style. Eventually you'll do all these differet methods withouteven thinking about it. Itll become second nature to you.. and muscle memory to do this and that . Just ALWAYS make sure if you dont keep our turn tight becuase youre going to fast and drift off into the other lane towards an incoming car .. do NOT turn the bike away from the car while in the turn or else youll shoot your bike even faster into the car.. you actually want to turn towards the car (which is opposite the direction of the turn youre in) and itll throw the bikes weight away from teh car and shoot you off in the direction back into your lane away from the car. Theres a video of a biker who didnt know this and he lost control through a turn and smashed right into the front of a big ass truck which shot him flying over a cliff.. I guess he survived but was in VERY bad shape. The video is used as a teaching video of what NOT to do on a motorcycle if you ever find yourself in that situation.. of course your brain takes over in panic and wants to turn away from the incoming vehicle but you have to learn to NOT do that or else youre dead. If you search for one day on here im sure youll find the video. It was recorded from the riders helmet cam and the channel goes in slow motion showing how he turned away from the truck but then shows how the bike totally tipped over to the other direction pointing his front end even more towards the truck which was insane to see how that was een possible.. but thats physics for you.
