- I’m such a huge fan of the Ken Doll. My sister collected Barbies growing up and I always have loved them. I started collecting random Ken Dolls a couple of years ago mainly because of nostalgia. Even though they were well before my time I’ve grown quite fond of the vintage ones. I totally scored this amazing vintage Ken Doll from 1961 not too long ago and I’m happy to share him with you today.

Oh my God so cutie!
Yeah. Back in the day. When Mattel paid attention to detail--regularly.
It’s so impressive.
So I genuinely just thought to myself “I wonder if anyone has any original ken dolls on UA-cam” from pure curiosity . I first search the original commercial for him, then for the doll it’s self . I found your page and I can just tell like as a child you really enjoyed these things and it seems so passionate for that reason and I really respect that. It’s so hard to find people that just do what they love and for no other reason but they love it truly. People fake things for bandwagon or looks all the time - I can really feel you enjoy these things! Much respect
Wow. Thanks so much. Your kindness just made my day.
Ken! #1 flock hair.
Love your video! I love Ken and allen.i have the bendable straight legs Malibu etc. And tons of clothes,,
Thanks Judy! Cool! It sounds like you have a lot of goodies!
It is an original stand & he’s wearing the dreamboat outfit… wow your so lucky
Thanks for the info! I do love him.
The fabric store sold Ken sewing patterns and Moms made the doll cloths. I had some of the same Ken cloths but with different fabric.
I have one off the first ones made
Congratulations on your excellent find! I actually had that same Ken doll with the same outfit when I was young. His hair is called flocking, that is not mold. You can find videos of doll artists re-flocking their vintage dolls. The flocking comes off when wet or from excessive rubbing. Most of the clothes are actual Ken outfits, look for the label inside. The pajamas are not, they're home-made as evident by the large stitches. I laughed when you showed the Ken straw hat, it's in pretty bad shape! I collect the vintage Barbie and Ken doll fashions from the 60s - 70s, NRFB, for the quality. I have several Barbie Doll references that show the complete outfits with accessories, so a collector can purchase what's missing. I refer to them frequently.
Wow. That’s awesome. Thanks for sharing.
@@MichaelFitzTroyTV You're welcome, hope I answered all your questions!
@@chetc5068 yes! And thank you!
The jacket is my favorite part. It's so well made.
Yeah the clothes are
Cool.
He is pretty nice for a 60 year old. He has his own clothes too. Congratulations.. If those pajamas are homemade then someone used a pattern to make them. A lot of publications through Mattel and other companies did publish patterns for people to use for Barbie and Ken.
I'm so happy to hear you appreciate the vintage Ken and Allan dolls and their quality wardrobe. To learn more, you must check out this marvelous website: somethingabouttheboy.com
I doubt the hair has mold, but it's likely some foam or rubber that is disintegrated in patches.
Ha. I was looking at it again. I think you’re right.
