G is meant to be a strange, showy, and flashy character with multiple tools at his disposal. Balrog is in every sense of the word a bruiser that punches hard. He doesn't use anythung flashy like gold, molten lava, or volcanic eruptions.
TLDR; I like his G better, but Balrog is still entertaining. G just stands out so much more.
