Ryujin in this performance reminds me a lot of Momo in her Performance Project. We all know Momo is an insane dancer, but those without a dancers eye or appreciation for the art form under appreciate her Performance Projects difficulty because they ignore the level of personality involved. Ryujin mirrored that here. We know she can do insane isolations, pops, spins etc, but she kept it "simple", clean, and OOOOOOOZING attitude with this performance. At the end of the day you can dance as aggressively as you want, but if you don't have the face, the certainty, the confidence in yourself and your moves then all that gets lost. Ryujin is a master at stage presence and performance at such a young age, I'm excited to see her career continue to skyrocket!

What struck me about this performance is that it's so natural. If it wasn't for the backup dancers you could be convinced that Ryujin is free-styling this off the top of her head.
I love the Artist of the Month series, but Ryujins (and Wooyoungs) just has something extra about it. They're both so sassy and confident, and they make me flustered just watching. I will never get bored rewatching this performance.
As a dancer myself, I agree with the musicality, the moves will make you hear the hidden beats (beats that are unnoticeable), partner it with proper executions, they are chef's kiss. She's being controlled by the song naturally and the funny things is, she's controlling it (the song) as well. Now that's what we call UNIQUENESS.
Funny that for most people they find this boring and calling her weak dancer. But dancers reactors like you are really built different as you understood what Ryujin did and what she wants to express on the first watch. They expected more from her and do a complex choreo, but the girl said " No, shut up, I'll do it my way, I will have fun and give you variety. This performance is about me and everything of me."

imo, what separates Ryujin's stage presence from a lot of other idols is how much she plays with her expressions. It's not constantly fierce, confident, or whatever the vibe is. If it was she would still be amazing but she laughs, smiles, smirks, and has fun with it. It makes the performance more entertaining to me.
Finally someone with experience said what I've been saying all this time...this dance it's just so perfect and more for ryujin, like you don't need to do a lot of stuff to be great. I'm glad that you did this reaction
I agree that the members of ITZY have very different dancing styles and personalities that really showed in their AOTM. With Yeji, she has this "sharp and powerful" look to her, and her dancing reflects that. She's so sweet and soft IRL but when performing she's a hunter in the jungle. Chaeryeong's strength in dancing (imo) is that she's Super fluid. She's sort of the "water" to Yeji's "fire" if that makes sense. And so her AOTM choreo showed that. With Ryujin, I think her strongest suit is her expressions. Like, her face is extremely expressive, and dancing just as much as her body. She can really convey a Lot with just a Look. So this AOTM really took that into consideration. Or maybe she just did it naturally. X) I like all of their AOTM but i can't say i have a Favourite, because they're so different. 😊😅

I have been waiting for this video! I am glad you took some time for yourself and happy belated birthday. I find it difficult that in the world of Kpop everything seems to equate to numbers of UA-cam views and some very competitive fandoms.
