Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! are set in the Kanto region and include the original 151 Pokémon creatures in addition to their respective Mega Evolved forms from Pokémon X and Y & Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and their Alolan Forms from Sun and Moon. Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! feature common elements of the main series, such as battling non-player character Pokémon Trainers and Gym Leaders with caught Pokémon creatures. However, instead of battling them like the traditional battle system of other major Pokémon role-playing games (RPGs), the catching of Pokémon creatures uses a different mechanic that is based on the mobile spin-off game Pokémon Go where players throw Poké Balls at a wild Pokémon by using the motion controls of the Joy-Con controller. I just want to say that you can put your switch in sleep mode over night without breaking your combo.

PokeTips what if you had a combo of 31 and another shiny showed up instead of the one your hunting and you throw the pokeball and it kicks out will you have to restart your combo?

do combos (you can stay there without capturing after 31 combo)

And use a flying ride pokemon

I think it's gotta be wrong... AFTER getting max combo (31), I spent 8 hours trying to get shiny Vulpix. Found a shiny Chansey early on. I figured I'd seen probably 1400+ Vulpix, not including other pokemon. Never saw another shiny.
I did a catch combo of 250+, 11 hours and didnt find my shiny :( that's too much bad luck . I have trouble believing those odds
@@jessiejones7870 i encountered a shiny vulpix as 245 in a chain with about 30 other normal vulpix that spawned along the way but I didnt catch
To my understanding he actually got the odds incorrect. I believe the best odds you can get is 1/1035 or something like that, idk the exact number

It's also good to note that running away from your chain pokemon DOES NOT break the chain. So, if the pokemon breaks out of the first ball you can play it safe and run away instead of it potentially running away from you and breaking your chain. It's also a lot faster in some cases to just go into a building or a cave then back out to force spawn new pokemon if you have that option.

After reaching a 31 catch combo, the next pokemon that spawns (which you.combo) it has a 1 in 273 chance of being shiny (including you have the shiny charm.and a lure) and then after it will go back to around 1/1041 until you catch another pokemon to increase your chain.
One day, i was trying to get a shiny caterpie. I was at 97 combo capture, and a caterpie decided to GO AWAY.
So, my chain was broken, and no shinies.
Plus; i dont have any shinies..

I was told Start off easy I was hunting for a shiny magikarp then out of the Blue(pun very much intended) a shiny Lapras blessed me

I shiny hunted for shiny lapras for almost 2 days and ran out of 51 max lures
I was hunting fora shiny nidoran male all day when I first caught 31 one of them and got on my areodactyle I saw a shiny spearow then after the next combo of 31 I didn't find anything all day
I think the chances of shiny Pokémon are now balanced and chaining is actually enjoyable since you don't have to battle the entire time and if you stumble upon a different Pokémon by accident, it doesn't break your chain.
ive chained 34 kakuna,
38 pidgey,
right now 40 pikachu,
and everytime i do that i hunt for 3+ hours
and still no shinies..
i got shiny when i got 9 pidgay
it took me 120 growlithe and 5 hours of hunt to get it, 80 magicarp and 3 hours, 140 caterpie and 5h hours and 13 hours and 400 lapras and i still got nothing so let me tell you that its not magical x'D its a whole lot of patience!

I ran into a shiny Clefairy as soon as I entered the first cave on my journey, I wasn’t even interested in shiny hunting
So hey, what’s so special about shiny Pokémon? Are they more powerful than the regular type or do people just like them because of their different color palette? I googled it and all Google said was their special because they’re rare and they’re differently colored is that it? If so, I admire the people who find the patients to do this kind of stuff because I think shiny pokémon are cool, but I’m not going out of my way to get some I’m too impatient and the process is too tedious and frustrating I would know my cousin complains about it all the time. So unless they offer up more than just a different color, I don’t think I’m gonna be focusing too much on shiny Pokémon. Sorry if I made it about me by the way, was not trying to.
I have more tips to help you guys:
- Look for the spawn areas that have more pokemons spawning at the same time, for example: You may enter the Cerulean Cave to farm exp, combos, etc, however, sometimes there isn't the best place to find shiny pokemons. Explore different areas if the first one is empty.
- If you find a rare spawn pokemon in that area you may find different pokemons in another areas too, another example: Scyther is a little bit difficult to spawn but when it show up you may find rare spawns in other areas too like Snorlax in Cerulean Cave.
Making combos in this areas may help you to find out more shiny pokemons that are hard to find even normal. I catched a machop with 14 cubone combos and after 36 cubones i found a shiny one!
My chances were 1/273.
I haven't seen anyone yet to give this tip. So I stock up on the cheap lure and repels, hop on my flying pokemon and float a high spawn area using a lure till all the spawns appear, if no shiney. Use a repeal, wait a second then use a lure again. And just repeat until the shiney pops up. Usually takes 3 to 5 times and it works. It's lazy I'll admit. But it's not like there's much left to do anyways, so.
I did 2134 encounters and finally found a shiny it was a random dragonite with max lure

I had a 178 catch combo for Magikarp, didn't get a shiny, and then I went to do something and my little brother took the switch and played Mario -_- I hate my life.

Should be noted that the odds increase for all pokemon when you have a combo. Not just the pokemon you are comboing.

Things to note, you can't use the flying technique if you are trying to catch a poke in caves and such, also, if you save while in a combo, it will also break your chain.

Last night I was attempting to find a Dratini so that I could start getting myself a Dragonite. While doing this I spent around 30 minutes with a lure just going back and forth on route 10 with no spawns of Dratini whatsoever. When it finally did spawn, it was shiny and I just about had a heart attack. I now have a lovely picture of the “1 Number Caught” shiny Dratini.
I caught a shiny dragonite with a combo of 2 lol
I didn't got a shiny Gastly after 150 combos :-/
its not about the combo number. You have the same chance of encountering a shiny at 31 as you do at 150. Once you hit 31, stop running into the gastly and just look for the shiny

Dude I got all 3 of my shines while I was doing something else. I got a shiny pigeoto when levelling up my dragonair and a shiny rattata when filling the Pokédex and today I got a shiny caterpie when hunting a weedle!

thanks for the guide wanted to see if I was doing everything right I had a vulpix chain of 288 lol I pause your video to try out what u said and a shiny Chansey :) appeared instead of vulpix lol my guess is u have a shiny chance at any Pokemon that spawns in that area regardless of the Pokemon u may be chaining at the time, I was able to catch the shiny Chansey was so nervous that it would run away I had to use an ultra ball to catch it, so thanks again for the guide :)

i don't want to be rude or anything PokeTips but when you go to a different grass area then come back to the original area of grass the same pokemon will appear because they are saved into the ram just btw. yes i know this video is older i just thought i would let everyone know, so when shiny hunting you need to encounter pokemon then run away from them for new pokemon with new chances of shiny to appear.
Im seeing this shiny probability thrown around a lot but Im pretty sure it is wrong. After 11 pokemon caught it essentially gives one more check for a shiny so that shouldn't make it 4 times as likely to be a shiny from full odds. At 31 chain it should be 1/1020ish

Chris Profrock Those odds were proven false. The initial dataminers misunderstood the shiny odds that they discovered at first.
@@Azumaville I know at first they went through a lot of different iterations, at one point saying you had to be over a 100 chain to have the best odds. I'm just saying the mathematics don't make sense for this video because in the past the odds have always increased on a consistent path.
i'm currently hunting for vulpix on route 5
when i needed one, chansey was rare! (as in standing there for an hour and one pops up) ...now it's more common then everything else there :D

Yes! Charmander spawns on the route right before mt moon as a rare spawn.

Not all Pokemon show up on the Pokedex map, especially if they are considered "rare"! It's there :)
I found a shiny Onix and Mr. Mime within a hour of each other. The Onix spawn run next to me and ran and caught it. The Mime ran as soon as the battle started.

Yea, my Drozee hunt took 6 hours, followed by a full ods Chansey 15 mins after I caught the Drozee. My Oddish happened at 50. So it's been all over for me.

If you use a flying mount, in the sky of the routes, there are other flying pokémons that you do not see from the ground. You may find legendary birds on Route 7, but they fly above your head and can be found with super lure. There were people who found legendary birds, and they are rare. Your calculations are wrong , your calculating as if you also have shiny charm
No I'm not, I only calculate it with the shiny charm for the 1 in 273 stat. You can find the tables I used here - www.serebii.net/letsgopikachueevee/catchcombo.shtml
PokeTips Your stats are still wrong because your not using variable change calculation. What you did was a gambler’s fallacy. The odds will always be 1in 4096. The multiplier only re-rolls basically improving the amount of Pokémon spawning. So with a multiplier of 2 a Pokémon counts a two rolls at 1 in 4096. Which is not the same as 2 in 4096.

@@PokeTips Why do you only focus on pinning these vague positive comments when there are many more comments with criticism? Are you one of those people who only believes in positivity and even criticism is negative? If so, then you are the definition of toxic like a lot of other Poketubers. The amount of vague positive comments you've pinned is egotistical.

I got a shiny Pidgey as my third catch of my entire Let's Go Pikachu game, If you count catching my starter.
Your video helped me capture quite a few shinies today! And most of them happened while I was simply trying to shiny hunt a Psyduck. Today, my combo chain broke because a Psyduck got away, and then as I was looking down for my Pokeball Plus to pause the game and reset the game to get my balls back, I heard the encounter music play and looked up and it was a shiny Dodrio. What was funny was that before I noticed that's what it was, I had seen soemthing from the corner of my eye running towards me and that's what it was! I caught it and then tried again to chain for a shiny Psyduck and then this time when I hit 31 Psyduck, out of nowhere came running a shiny Doduo. I caught it and broke my catch combo. Then again, trying to chain for a shiny Psyduck, the same exact thing happened again as before, but instead it was a shiny Rattata! And then finally, after hours of trying to chain for a shiny Psyduck, I finally got one! I refuse to even evolve it because shiny Psyduck is way better looking than shiny Golduck in my opinion. And then before in Viridian Forest, I chained for a shiny Weedle and after about a half hour of waiting for it to show up after chaining with 32 Weedle, I finally saw it and I ran around all the other Weedle surrounding it and caught it! Oh and the other night when I was exploring through Victory Road to get to the Pokemon League, I was trying to leave the cave and heal my Pokemon and outta nowhere a shiny Golbat was flying around. I wasn't even looking for a shiny Pokemon at the time but there it was. So now I have a shiny Golbat, Dodrio, Doduo, Rattata, Psyduck, and Weedle. Right now trying to chain for a shiny Exeggcute. Your method helped me so much! Thank you :D !!!!! Btw out of all those shinies I caught, the only 2 I caught that I was actively seeking out and trying to get were Psyduck and Weedle. Everybody else I wasn't trying to even get. I just got lucky. Figures that when I tried getting a shiny Oddish and had a chain of well over 100 the other night that I couldn't get shiny Oddish to appear, but then when I don't try getting a shiny, a shiny Golbat appears. As if like when I wanna find a shiny, it doesn't happen. But then when I don't try to find a shiny, it happens. Go figure lol.

I’m currently trying to get a shiny Moltres first lol 😂 then it will be shiny Zapdos, then shiny Articuno, and then last would be shiny Mewtwo and once all of those are done I’ll move on to trying to catch all the other Pokémon as a shiny (my first shiny was a full odds shiny female Venonat that is now a shiny Venomoth that I named Sapphire while trying to get my first Scyther which happened after an hour of searching for it and then 5 minutes later Scyther spawns)
