Didn’t have any tennis balls, so used several rolled up socks instead. Worked ok 👍

Hand washing it in a bathtub is really nice too! The arm pits are really the only thing that gets a smell. I just turn it inside out and scrub the pits really good and it works great!

Do you have a Patagonia Nano Air how-to clean tutorial? Thanks.

Have you ever washed a Save the Duck lightweight jacket? I followed the tags and handwashed (that was a complete nightmare with the amount of water it collected). We removed the water well and hug to dry to find I have water stains all over. The tag says to handwash and tumble dry low. Called the company but they were no help.

Mine hasn’t started to smell yet, I only wore it 4 or 5 times but it h has a little stain from thousand islands sauce. Any idea how to treat the stains?

is it ok hanging to dry ?

It's "OK", but in order to restore the down in your jacket to it's normal "fluff" it's much easier to do with a dryer and tennis balls. If you hang dry it you need to be attending to it while it drys, making sure to turn it and fluff it as it drys.

@@shedreamsofalpine Thank you, Since I have no drier so I need to line dry. I just afraid that down will dropped to the bottom if hanging it.
      However, thanks for the tip.

I would like to buy a new puffy down coat. The issue is, I've been washing all my clothes on the 2-hour, hot sanitize cycle, due to covid (I have a chronic illness and need to avoid germs). So would that harm it? My main fear is I don't want it to rip, and the feathers to come out and ruin my washing machine. Please let me know what you think, thanks.

This is a good question. I would reach out to maybe a company like Patagonia to ask them about this! They have a pretty responsive help desk.

Covid doesn't live on a surface. They originally thought that it did. Now they know it's airborne. So I wouldn't worry about that side of things.

I don’t think I would’ve dared drop my down in a washing machine unti I watched this video. Have you tried this with a down sleeping bag?

    • @shedreamsofalpine3715

Yes! It works the same way! I'll be dropping a video on that next week, but essentially it's the same way. Sometimes I'll turn my sleeping bag inside out first though since the inside has a lot of dirt in it from getting in and out of the bag.
