To everyone asking for the brush its Nikolai Lockertsen's rull brush
So it's just one brush you have used for this?
How do you know? I have that brush and it looks much smudgier than what I’m using
I find it interesting how your style of painting is similar to trad't'l oil painting. Thanks for this vid!
Basically I watch this again and again everytime I paint something.. thanks alot
I’ve always found it so difficult to just dive in and I am so impressed by your talent first of all, and secondly, your ability to just get in there and work the painting. I’m learning how to do this with time. I really enjoyed watching your process; it helps me get into my own rhythm in my workflow. Thank you for sharing!
Nice painting and good tips for painting overall. I was hoping for more procreate specific tips, since I know how to paint traditionally and am trying to learn how to translate that into procreate. If anyone reading has any video suggestions for that lmk!
really nice self-portrait :) I really liked the added skin tones to brighten the portrait up and add character.
Bravo that was awesome. Learned acrylics in art school and was always sad I didn't do oils. Now I'm thinking procreate might give me that shot with zero mess haha
Thanks for this! It looks great!
Nice . Some solid advice for sure. Thank you.
Sooo good! Thanks for this!
Super cooool!!! ❤️
Amazing tutorial so much thanks to share !
Very beautiful piece of art, this app is great.
Amazing video and painting time-lapse ...loved watching this ...Well Done 🔔👍
Looks great!
Love this so much, trying so hard to do this myself but I feel like every picture I pick is to complicated
Love it ❤️❤️
very inspiring, thanks
Evertbody wanna know what brushes you use plz share them 😭
Its salamanca i think
Fat pencil
Pena Andu , I agree. Salamanca. I use it the most since it looks like real paint strokes
I hope his still alive
Ye I agree
I love your videos! Can you make a video about brushes on procreate? Thank you:)
Cool!❤️
i feel inspired!! Do you use the standard brushes??
So good
Amazing artwork!!! I love it! But What brushes did you use? Please I want to know♡
Loved the brushed strokes wich brush did you used on this?
Really cool! I want to learn to paint like this digitally. I subbed, you're awesome!
Any advice on layering when going for the oil effect? I’ve basically resorted to cell shading because I can’t figure out blending in Procreate for the life of me, and I HATE relying on the kinda shitty smudge tool.
DocileRoadmaster you can chose the brush type for blurring
How long did this take in real time? I love the style and was thinking of attempting it for the cards in my board game.
sir what brushes or brush did you use? this is amazing.
Amazing work friend loved the Colours.
Joined u.
How are you doing brush strokes/blending like that to give it that oil/clay look?! 🔥
I want to know what brushes you used.
Wish i had 10% of his talent 😭😭
Practice.
👍🏻 subbed
it would be nice if there's a text saying what brush you're using for a complete newbie like me
What brushes do you use
R u doing this on one layer or several layers?
I think its several layer
Music Studio it looks like 2 layers max, lol
It’s best to do this kind of style on one layer, the second layer would be to add any post editing
Are you* Don’t be lazy
What brush did you use for this one?
how do you learn to colour and build it up until it looks real? one of the biggest things i’m struggling on
Since it's a digital painting, please reference which brushes and/or settings are being used in each step. This is critical to help the viewer achieve the same texture and feel when making a tutorial.
What brush did u use?
What brush or brushes did you use?
what’s the name of the brush?
what brushes did u use?
What brush do you use?
What brush did u use
Wonder which brushes he used??
¡Nice work!
What is the colorskin did you used?
Hi. I know this is an older video, but did you have prior knowledge of oil painting before going into digital. Your process is very similar just quicker I suppose without having to deal with paints and mediums. Nevertheless this is very well done.
Do you have some course teaching how to do digital portrait on Procreate?
How can i buy your brushes ?
What kind of brush to make this painterly effect? thanks!
It looks like he’s using the default flat brush in the painting section of brushes.
Hey. Can you please tell what brush did you use? The oil painting brush in Procreate? Or custom.
P.s: this was so helpful. And amazing work. 😊
Mercy Romin I need to know too! Please
Mariam H. Haven’t figured it out yet 😜
Mariam H. Tho it looks like a mix of brushes. The very first Is i think the basic airbrush.
Mercy Romin Yeah i wanted to know the first one .. I’m trying to do oil paintings but I can’t find the right brushes
Looks like a gouache brush to me

How did you make the painting in B&W and made it colored back again?!
monkh 2002 if it’s all in one layer go to saturation and turn it all the way down should remove the colors
Supersloth34 but how can i get it colored back again?
monkh 2002 I don’t know
Supersloth34 that’s what i was hoping to know but thanks anyway 👽👍🏽
You can add a layer that is all black at the very top of all layers and set the blend mode to "color". Any layer underneath will be black and white/greyscale. This is useful for checking values. Disable that layer to reveal the colors again :) hope that helps
Lovely painting! My problem is, I paint and then try and do a background on a layer underneath but it shows through on my main painting layer. Is this because I’m not filling in enough?
Amir Noor That is mostly when the brush isn‘t 100% covering, sometimes I duplicate my brush and then change the settings of the brush, there you can set the Minimum and Maximum coverage but it will change also the Look of the brush of course.
@@magicblingbling thank you! So it’s not about the opacity of the brush, but more about how much the brush is covering, right?:)
@@Limossol3922 sorry i just saw your answer :) maybe you already figured something out? But when I set the opacity to Max. and the Layer is still Not fully covering because other layers show through, I go in to the detailed settings of the Brush and change the opacity settings there. I don’t know if this is helpful, I suck at explaining 😅
May i ask what brush(es) you used? Im trying to get the hang of painting on procreate, and was wondering what settings you mightve used for that painterly effect - it looks great!
I think he used Flat_Brush.brush
@@user-uf5jj7yl7j flat brush makes sense as its the same shape, but i'm wondering the same question as K. i wonder if he's just trained himself to use the smudge tool as often as the brushes themselves, because thats the one thing i dislike about procreate: brushes themselves rarely ever smudge or blend "naturally". id love to know if he found some option that tweaked this...
Hey guys, to answer your questions:
- I use the ‘oste rull’ brush from Nikolai for the entire painting
- I rarely smudge my paintings, I enjoy the painterly rough look with visible brush strokes and harmonious colour notes. But if I do want to smudge, I just use the basic smudge tool :)
Hope this helps!
@@astppts680 I love his brushes
Mirror or photo?
Amazing, what brushes do you use?
This is just one brush I got from Nikolai Lockertsen :)
I don’t think it’s Nikolai’s latest Rull Brush.
Song? Anyone
He used a brush from Nikolai Lockertsen
Great artwork, just subscribed, i have also started my own drawing channel and hope it gets as popular as yours, i doubt it :)
Wäre are the tips
what happens at 2:00? how does the chin get bigger?
Any alternative for android? 🥺
Medibang?
I’m new to Procreate but how do you move pieces of drawings individually? Whenever I use the warping tool it splits the painting.
You can use the liquify tool on different layers simultaneously.
yea uhh, give me 5 more years and I'll be able to make a background like that :)
wHat bRusH d0 yoU uSe?¿¿
just kiddin . great work
You're a cutie!
Kudos for NOT focusing on brushes. That's a scam. Anyone who focuses on brushes is trying to sell brush packs. Brushes won't make anyone a better artist. Foundational knowledge and practice will make you better. The tips given in this video are worth far more than a brush pack. Some comments focus on how to make a Procreate brush work properly as if the brush will make their art better. It won't. The key to good art rests in your knowledge and your skill built up by practice and persistence. If you're having trouble with a tool, do more drawings with that tool. Experiment with it. Most people give up sooner than they should; it takes time to learn a new tool. Give yourself that time.
Where was the tips and advice? Lol its just a speed paint video sis
Selim Firat throughout the video white text pops up and explains the steps. You would easily see them unless you skipped through too fast.
Need to Show Pencils to man u Weidrechts
Don’t waste your time! This guy does not even mention the brushes he uses. Lame!
He did u dwarf, make your own Shit than
Hey can i ask . What is the brush , can i buy it?
