The DCS A-10C is the best thing to come out since Falcon 4 imho. And you are right this is the game all flight simmers will be talking about for the next however many years. You guys at DCS are taking Combat sims to the next level. PS one thing im missing is the voices on the radio. I get the text but no voices. Is the beta release supposed to have voices or are you using a diffrent version? Thanks
I'm building a PC with the soul purpose of supporting this...you know, game is an understatement. Simulation is getting there. More like a piece of art.
I`ll buy this game even though I won`t play it. I`ll buy it to support the developer and I`ll be looking forward to their Apache game which will hopefully be next. I bought Blackshark, and for me it is a beautiful game but I think the workload is rather heavy the single pilot. Like I said I`ll just be buying this game to provide a bit of support to genre. This game does look mighty fine though.
@gekko434 Err, the sound engine it's using will be the one it uses forever. And anyway, we've not seen frostbite 2 yet... Plus, whats the point of such a sound engine if you're only ever in the cockpit of the A-10. The only sounds you hear are muffled GAU-8, muffled engines and radio comms. Not enough to warrent an awful lot of time on sounds.
How's that for a FAC! In this case, even destroy a wagon can 'be very rewarding. The comm's radio I found them very "full-bodied, realistic but also a little verbose passages. However, very rewarding! PS: I think that the use of the Label by Wag is due only needs "visual" for us viewers. NB: Sorry for Google traslation!
@DornDaniel well i think you could get a large advantage if you fly an a10 in real life because you know the procedures and you really know what you are doing, depending on the realism of the game i guess
how do you radio in anyways? I can figure it out, are the radio frequency's different for all airfields, and how would you know what to set the frequency to it doesn't tell you anywhere?
@TheFsReview But exactly thats the problem. It is a simulation. Not an emulation. Some things might be different in the simulator. Plane not being correctly modelled, stalling with an AOA which the real plane could handle, or otherwise for example. I will never know simply because I am no A10 pilot so i cant compare.
I'd love to see an AH-64D simulation, but honestly there's no way that they could do a full simulation DCS style without requiring two players to fly the aircraft... I work on AH-64D Armament/Avionics/Electronics systems in real life. Many functions of the helicopter (esp. weapons systems) can only be accomplished from one station or the other, not both. Believe me, I want a 64 sim as much as anybody else... I just don't see a realistic commercial sim happening.
@DornDaniel if one wanted to be the best then they might want real lessons in real aircraft :P not saying you cant be a really good pilot by reading theh manual and burning ops into your head that could be a great way to learn, and if you do take lessons in an aircarft like this you will impress your instructor. you will most likely have to use checklists though :P
so i downloaded the beta, installed the simulation, paid for the key, registered online. and guess what i have done till now? nothing. because i am reading the whole manual before i even set a foot into the cockpit. and then i will just start with the startup procedure and get that burned into my brain. i want to become the best a10 pilot on the world.
@iamaladycanyousaveme trust me if you want something great you play this , if you want an arcade game try hawx . But I just deleted that game to make space for this one, it's pretty awesome once you master it .
@TheFsReview You cant be the best in the sim if you are only flying the real thing in reallife. Just like you cant be the best pilot in reallife by only flying in a simulator. Cant wait for Beta 5
Thank you!
I guarantee that all the popularity after the beta release is not just an initial hype :) It's going to be a huge success.
Wow looks like you can accurately make out shapes at a reasonable range and visually identify targets in the MFD. Nice!
We can feel a real A10 pilot on this demo...smooth and textbook maneuvering.
I like it better when you talk about what you are doing like in some of the other vids. But thanks for making these they are awesome.

I thought I had a decent grasp on the systems but watching you interact with JTAC makes me want to RTFM.
it'd be nice if the JTAC put "breaks" after each para of the 9 line.
Awesome. I would like to know, how many polygones were used to model the cockpit. :-o

I'm so excited!
Awesome! Thanks Matt.

@andysim232 I think Wags has used a later version then we have at the moment ;)

if line 8 is "no factor"...then its not CAS

Why do you take place with a graphics board whether a background is so clean?

@s2kirl its stand alone but very very detailed.
so far DCS is getting bigger with their flight sims - kamov was ok but this tops it for sure. next AH64 :)
Is this a stand alone game or a blackshark expansion Im looking forward to getting it either way

wags what were the system specs of the system you ran this on?
he could have, but JTAC only asked for one target :)
Who knows, maybe they have their reasons?
@HDaviator
I never said in reallife, but in the simulation.

Wags, you rock :D

@TokyoXer Can I has your copy then?
@TokyoXer Realy?
@FillTheirVoid
Oh yes I do.

can you put subtitles in Spanish?
this is 11111111 ... That makes me... it sounds so wrong.

@mtucci15 steam online.
