    it's definitely looking like chien-pao ex and baxcalibur will make this list in a year from now!

      @amphilol8579 Рік тому +8

      Nah if you take format into account chien-pao ex isnt even better than Keldeo was at the time and Keldeo isnt on the list and Baxcaliber is just blastoise and not even a tier 1 deck

      Doubt it. They aren't as format warping.

      Chien Pao just as a card in itself is broken as both a utility and one shot attacker. Maybe when the F cards rotate as well we will see it truly dominate a format. Just depends on what they release.

    I feel that Drizzile was more impactful than Inteleon. Especially when Quick Shooting came out

  • @bakh554321

    The fact that Inteleon was the only Stage 2 that saw any real play in tye SWSH block shows it's strength. In meta full of big Basics and Bigger VMAXs, it was THE engine to run.

    • @matthewkuscienko4616

      I believe it's mainly because all the evolution cards in it's line are playable as more than just pieces to play leading up to eventually bringing out your stage 2 that made it so good: each piece was played for a particular reason, and they worked together extremely well to give it much greater viability. This is much the same reason as to why Gardevoir ex has been able to become as successful as it has been, as it's evolutionary line gives it access to Kirlia to potentially put an energy in the discard pile (fueling Gardevoir's ability) while drawing you more cards, as well as another strong attacker in a different Gardevoir, and even a Gallade that can grab you supporters. What makes these 2 examples interesting is that in the majority of cases, most decks that play stage 2 Pokemon usually opt for rare candy to help them evolve their Pokemon as quickly as possible, but both Inteleon and Gardevoir ex can not only play without needing to rely on it, but can even benefit from not playing rare candy to skip an evolution because of the utility their stage 1 cards provide

      Plus the only reason why Shady Dealings didn't see play earlier than it did was because of Jirachi being better. Now some players like myself used it as a budget option because Jirachi was 20 bucks each at the time.

    -Makes list with the 10 most dominant Water Type Cards Ever
    -Downpour Feraligatr from Neo Genesis who dominated the first Set Rotation Era seeing he missed the cut: 😐

      I think a lot of older cards, like rain dance itself weren't included because of the smaller size of the game back then, but yeah Feraligatr was nutty at the time.

      That was my thought. One of the most dominant decks of all time and yet it doesn't have an inclusion on the list. I'm guessing he has doesn't have much vknowledge of anything pre-2010.

    I'm certainly biased since I started basically right after Boundaries Crossed released, but Keldeo, like Darkrai was even better due to its ability than its amazing attack (Rush In is basically what made Blastoise playable with its heinous 4 retreat in a format with auto catcher). After Float Stone released in Plasma Freeze, Keldeo's Rush-In + retreat ("Rush-treat") became a very powerful and splashable tech to get around some of the game's most terrifying strategies like Gothitelle/Accelgor, as well as the most powerful damage/status mod in LaserBank (Hypnotoxic Laser + Virbank City Gym).
    It got to the point where I remember Pooka (The Top Cut) using two Keldeo's to get around one getting catchered up and para/sleep locked. Two of the same tech on your bench is a very rare occurrence and showcased just how valuable the card was from one of the game's best players.

    This was such a trip down memory lane, -- I started playing right towards the end of the Ruby/Sapphire blocks (ex), and played since. Diamond and Pearl was still my favorite block of all time in terms of the formats, but I love all of these cards. Especially Greninja BREAK. That deck wasn't the most consistent like you said, but it might be one of the best board states ever, up there with Ross's The Truth

    Toad should be number one. Like don’t get me wrong radiant greninja and inteleon were amazing meta defining cards but I have never seen more dominance in my life by a card especially with trump card. Like even inteleon had counters(jolteon and eventually Lugia) but toad did not. With trump card it was even beating virizion gensect which was nuts. I legitimately think toad trump card is the most dominate deck we will ever see in pokemon in the modern era (no haymaker lol) Afterwards it still won nats and got second at worlds. It then continued to be good in 2016 (waterbox) and even after it rotated it still is amazing in expanded despite the tremendous power scaling Pokémon has had. Also Keldeo ex should maybe be in here but idk. Secret sword aside rush in retreat was the most convenient thing ever.

    • @hiddenmosaic
      @hiddenmosaic 5 місяців тому

      Radiant greninja has been the most versatile and widely used Pokemon across the entire format since it came out. It is single handedly the only reason anyone even plays Manaphy in their deck. If you dont get the manaphy out vs LZB, Chien pao, or Palkia, you get Moonlight Shurikened for your life savings more often then not. And on top of being a bench snipe threat it also has Concealed cards. Which helps many decks accelerate energy into the discard to be used for Star Portal, Dark Patch, Sadas, I could go on. Broken card.

    • @matthewkuscienko4616
      @matthewkuscienko4616 Рік тому +3

      The thing is, Manaphy is definitely good, but it's not format defining in the same way these other cards have been. Manaphy is primarily just a passive bench sitter that is only relevant as a safeguard in certain match ups to keep decks that can bench snipe from running all over everything else

    • @thetrickster4899
      @thetrickster4899 10 місяців тому

      Manaphy is a tech card. Not the meta. The effect is good against certain cards, but isn't even the perfect counter.

      Chien-Pao ex is mid at best.
      It looks powerful until you have to pressure test the deck; at that point, the flaws are exposed. The highest ranked one at Worlds was 13th place, even Palkia VStar and Inteleon VMAX outperformed Chien-Pao ex.
