Really enjoyed the film and the heavy use of halberds!, however I would appreciate if in the future you could give us a tutorial or something to show how you create the characters?
Thank you! Yeah, I like this type of weapon, have two halberds myself. I may try to record a tutorial, but the problem is that the skeletons aren't very durable, and I need to figure out a new way to make them with interchangeable limbs.
@@Epoch11 It's not a bug, it's a feature. I'm not forcing you to accept it, but I'm informing you that it was designed that way. A small stylistic / comedic element(since it is a claymation). Although I would have re-record some phrases, but it's too late. Hopefully my potential next project will be better. I could do the ‘perfect’ Russian dubbing, and I can imagine how many people would NEVER watch it just cuz of that.
Amazing and entertaining throughout the whole thing, I especially liked how you stuck to actual sword/melee fighting techniques. The combat felt weighty and realistic despite being claymation, not an easy feat!
The fact you have less than 1000 subscribers is absurdly criminal. This was art my guy you did an amazing job with this. I'm subbed, looking forward to whatever else comes out of you regardless of how long it takes and I'll be sharing this with everyone I know into work like this. I hope low viewership never deters you from making things like this because you are talented. UA-cam is a harsh mistress with the algorithm You deserve over a million subscribers easy brother keep on keepin on you'll blow up eventually I'm positive. For now just take this crown King 👑
Thank you, sir. I hope I'm justified in wearing this crown! And thank you for sharing with your friends. This is very important. Too bad, it takes so long to shoot, even with all the technology at hand. Maybe my thumbnails aren't good enough because only 5% of people who see my video - click on it. Either way, I consider the current situation a success.
I saw a similar comment for "The Spine of Night"(btw, it can be considered one of the sources of my inspiration, along with Vordum and Mad God) Not sure about my project yet, but I sure hope so. Maybe in the future (or other potential project) this will become one. It needs more recognition to become a classic.
That was absolutely fantastic! To me there's nothing more inspiring then stop motion! Brilliant movie; gonna rave about this to my friend's because it totally deserves it! And good job with all the subtitles, must've been tedious, but I image it was nothing compared to the magnitude of work that went into this! And dont get me started on all the move sets and chorography, feels right out of the historical longsword books! (Just look at those Ox Guards!) And that handgonne! Chefs kiss! The satisfaction and love, pouring out of this movie has been matched by very few things in the world of stop motion! To say I thoroughly enjoyed this would be an understatement!
Thanks for sharing with your friends, it helps a lot! Subtitles was an easy part - thanks to good internet-translators and some help. It's great when you film and understand what you're filming about. And the viewer understands what you're filming about. I'm not sure why, but I really like early firearms.
So glad UA-cam is recommending this kind of movies to me, i cant believe im watching this for free! Also, just came from watching "Vordum: Price of Death", alongside this one i can say both are the best claymations (and mavies) i have seen.
Yeah, well, it's purely a passion project, besides, even if I wanted to get donations, it's just not possible. And yes, without Vordum, I would never have make this one, since it was my boost. Thank you for watching!
I used to non stop watch stuff like this on youtube when I was younger, stuff like klayworld and mamshmam would even make my own stopmotion/claymations. Feels good to see this stuff again. Real masterpiece 👏
This was absolutely brutal. I really enjoyed the technical skill showed, not only with the claymation itself but also the combat. I'm sure you do HEMA or some other weapon based martial art haha
@claymationbykonrad Perhaps producing this masterpiece will make you go practice again :) Either way I hope that we get to see more of your claymations or other projects you choose to do. Good luck and have fun O7
@ I may share some photos of myself in armor/15th century clothes. I know, this can be popular. Or I may make a video of myself animating in armor, just for fun and views. Could be original.
I like the story in general, but I particularly like the figures. They are simple clay yet very expressive and soulful. They remind me of the original King Kong, which I think is still the best. Peter Jackson had a huge budget and the latest software but could not top the vibe of the original. This animation shares that vibe, and it transcends the cuteness of clay to portray a dark and desperate fantasy.
Thank you for a thoughtful comment! I agree with you, that pure CGI has less soul more often than not, with some exceptions of course. Glad it reminded you of such an old classic. Although, my movie also has been processed through newest technologies and for some it has less soul because of this, but I think it makes it easier to watch.
This is absolutely brilliant. I loved everything about it. The sound effects and music were particularly haunting. I found it so engaging, and to paraphrase previous comments, the characters draw you in and make you feel something that big budget productions fail to do so often. Keep up the good work. If I actually had any money I'd support for sure. Best I can do is share the link among friends who I know will feel the same way I do after viewing.
Glad you like it. Finding the right music wasn't easy, but the result was worth it. About the characters: Yeah, you know, I think that characters are underdeveloped a bit, but at the same time, I spent so much time with them and maybe it transfered to the viewers somehow. Thanks for sharing with your friends, I hope more interested people will enjoy it!
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed the action as well as the story! I hope to film something new in the future too, but don't expect it to come out soon as it's time consuming.
amazing work!!! Loved it , the halbred and sword movements are so on point , you can tell TONS TONS TONS of work and hours went into this , thank you!! Love from Argentina
Hey there! Just leaving a comment to help with the algorithm! I can't possibly imagine how long it took you to make this stop-motion, I hope this video reaches more people because just because of the dedication alone you deserve it!
9 and a half minutes in and its just so, so good. I love it. The combat, the characters, the story. I was shocked when the knight lost his leg. And I just love the sets, everything is fantastic, and it's a free movie! I believe there is another full length movie like this but it was in another language with subtitles and I didn't get to it yet as I can't always read and take in what's happening. This is perfection to me. I love building models and painting and I am so impressed with every creative aspect and how it is just hours and hours of hobbying and digital work. Bravo.
Hope you got through it all then! Thank you for a well-thought comment. Yeah, if you're interested, I wasn't plan the leg scene, but internal skeleton of the man-at-arms brake and so I decided to make this graphical scene which was better the "original" planned outcome. About the movie you mentioned - Vordum, it is extremely good and I suggest you to give it a try again.
The ending is amazing where you set it up at the beginning that the snake is following him and he got separated then we see he was part of the order and he kills the snake. You set that seed in our minds that sat the entire runtime and he managed to get drop on that thing when it had been stalking him the whole time. I really want to see his story.
I'm glad you saw it that way, but they were different worms/snakes. I'm writing the script for part two, so there's a possibility we'll see his character and story.
Well done, Konrad!! this appeared on my feed, since i'd watched "Vordum..." before, hoping it gets as many views as possible! Great atmosphere, almost arthouse cinematographic choices, sensible fight coreography, singular art direction, what else can I say!? Looking forward to your next project.
Thanks, glad you actually like it. Vordum was one of my main sources of inspiration all along. I hope more people find my video too, so consider sharing it with your friends. And of course it is 100% arthouse, since I could do anything without any restrictions. Except technical, I had plenty of those.
This is absolute claymation cinema! I have not seen a claymation this good in a while! I like the setting and how they only have melee weapons instead of them having guns and still failing like any other claymation. I like how the weapons are actual plastic or metal at times, I couldn’t tell. I hate it when the weapons are clay and they move around a lot. Epic sound effects and I like the accent they have!
Thank you, glad you found this entertaining. Yes, even if my friend hadn't printed most of these weapons, I would have used the metal weapons I forged from nails.
This was just amazing. It was like watching a sequel to Vordum! Watched this in one go, cant get my eyes from it! So cool! So much inspiration! I will definetly base one of my next DnD campaigns on this. Really hope that you will continue to work on clay animation, you are truly an inspiration!
Thank you for the thoughtful comment! About the campaign: this is really cool. I would be happy to take part in it if I could. Didn't play for couple of years. Ehh, dreams dreams.
Spoilers... Although, thank you for watching the whole thing. You're legend!👍 Maybe someone else made it, who knows... I sure hope to make a sequel. But it takes thremendous amount of time and YT need consistency.
I know this is a second comment, but I've thought about this a lot and I had to say it! It was intense, I dove in head first and it seemed like I could feel every blow the characters took. The film was a show of nostalgia for many works I had already seen, and for me it was easy getting attached to the characters. Astrid... Oh shit, she deserved a better ending. She fought so hard... And I thought it was funny that the drunk man fought really well lol What can I say about Anna? She was spectacular! She gave it her all! In many tense moments I thought she was going to die in combat! And it was like "Wow! Wow!" It's a mysterious world, where supposedly "God" has never stopped talking to his subjects, and aliens from somewhere else want to take over the world. The more you try to answer something about this world, more questions you will have! It's vast! My only criticisms are some camera moves that cause minor dizziness, and some scenes that have confusing lighting. But that's totally fine. The movie is 9/10
Glad you liked it so much, this review does put a smile on my face! Anna could of die for real, because her joints were all broken.:D And now, who knows, maybe she is still alive even after the event. It's a pity I didn't give Anna more screen time and the backstory though. The alien is not necessarily pure evil, but rather more like an animal trying to survive. And yeah, God is real in this universe, I always found this idea interesting "what if..". And technically I am a God to them.. mad one apparently.
6 minutes in and I was extremely impressed and drawn in from the start! You are amazing! Sound effects and music are phenomenal, the characters and their voices are so real!!! Still watching! …….,
Please accept my gratitude for sharing. Yes, I hope this helps. About the views: I think my thumbnails aren't engaging enough, and the beginning of the movie is too “long”... less than 2 minutes, but still - 60%+ of viewers drop it after 40sec on average and another 10% after three minutes, so YT thinks my video is not good.
@@claymationbykonrad thanks, will check out "Outlaw King". Did you see "Mad God" by Phil Tippett? Should be right up your alley, absolute Masterpiece. Your movie reminded me alot
@@Goldkalb Yes, sure, it's one of my favorites, I even mentioned it in the description as one of my sources of inspiration. Glad you saw some similarities.:)

Congrats with the full release of this masterpiece :) It was a pleasure to watch it and help a bit here and there :) Wish you nothing but luck and success with your future projects, let there be a plenty of them :)
@ I am inpatient... But now I can probably work even faster. It takes an average of 2 hours for 10 seconds of animation. However, for complex scenes and battles it is from 2 to 5 hours. Yet, simple scenes are faster to animate. But after all this you need to edit everything manually and also voice acting. You got the idea.💀

Not sure any one has mentions how good the sculping is. We got a Ray Harryhausen in the making right here.
Yeah, I've been sculpting as a pure hobbyist(without learning) since kindergarten and to this day. This I could of done better by me, but when the model has too many details, it is harder to animate without loosing them all in the process.

I may try to record a tutorial, but the problem is that the skeletons aren't very durable, and I need to figure out a new way to make them with interchangeable limbs.
Brother this is a gem
Wow, I encountered this in my feed and didn't know what to expect, but this is amazing! Very captivating from the first scene!!
Thank you, hope you watched all of it. Share with your friends ;)
Great stuff
Thanks, man!
You just need a better voice actors
those sweaty battle th ongs of the sisters mmmm
@@Epoch11 It's not a bug, it's a feature. I'm not forcing you to accept it, but I'm informing you that it was designed that way. A small stylistic / comedic element(since it is a claymation).
Although I would have re-record some phrases, but it's too late. Hopefully my potential next project will be better.
I could do the ‘perfect’ Russian dubbing, and I can imagine how many people would NEVER watch it just cuz of that.
@@claymationbykonradI can't wait to see your other future creations 🕵🏻
Amazing and entertaining throughout the whole thing, I especially liked how you stuck to actual sword/melee fighting techniques. The combat felt weighty and realistic despite being claymation, not an easy feat!
Thanks for watching it all.
Yes, filming so many combat scenes was pain. Good thing that I'm a masochist.xD(just kidding, I mean I like to film those)
The fact you have less than 1000 subscribers is absurdly criminal.
Either way, I consider the current situation a success.
what did U expect? 95% of humanity is just consumption cattle focused on onlyfans etc etc LOL
I hope you realize you've made a classic, right? Great job!
I saw a similar comment for "The Spine of Night"(btw, it can be considered one of the sources of my inspiration, along with Vordum and Mad God)
Not sure about my project yet, but I sure hope so. Maybe in the future (or other potential project) this will become one. It needs more recognition to become a classic.
Everything is amazing. The combat especially caught my eye. I really love seeing the weapons being used extremely well
Thank you. Combat - is my favorite part of filming, but it doesn't work without a screenplay though.
Amazing work, this kind of passion is really missing from fantasy media and it elevates every aspect of the movie
Thank you.
Yes, I agree with this. Sadly.
(Just look at those Ox Guards!)
And that handgonne!
Damn man this is mind blowing. Excellent work, congrats to you!
Thanks!
Glad to bring you back to your youth.
I wonder why people stop doing them? I mean the more complicated ones.
This was absolutely brutal. I really enjoyed the technical skill showed, not only with the claymation itself but also the combat. I'm sure you do HEMA or some other weapon based martial art haha
Glad you like it! Yes, I use to. And watched plenty of this as well.
@claymationbykonrad Perhaps producing this masterpiece will make you go practice again :)
Either way I hope that we get to see more of your claymations or other projects you choose to do. Good luck and have fun O7
I hope to attend a couple of reenactor events this year.
@claymationbykonrad If you do and care to share I'm sure it would be a hit with your audience :3
This was great. Super creative and i had a great time watching it. Amazing job 👍👍👍
Was happy to entertain!
Thank you for this movie. Really appreciate the story and effort to make this. Looking forward to another epic adventure

Hey there! Just leaving a comment to help with the algorithm! I can't possibly imagine how long it took you to make this stop-motion, I hope this video reaches more people because just because of the dedication alone you deserve it!
Hi.
Yes, it helps. Appreciate the comment!
This is incredible. The animations, move sets , storyline... all of it is just sublime
Glad you like everything!
Absolutely incredible work 👏
😊
The ending is amazing where you set it up at the beginning that the snake is following him and he got separated then we see he was part of the order and he kills the snake. You set that seed in our minds that sat the entire runtime and he managed to get drop on that thing when it had been stalking him the whole time. I really want to see his story.
I'm glad you saw it that way, but they were different worms/snakes.
I'm writing the script for part two, so there's a possibility we'll see his character and story.
Dude, this is awesome! You have a great sense of flow in combat, and I'm stoked to see genuine historical weapons.
You have my gratitude.
This was once my life.x)
Fantastic work! Looking to see this channel explode. Also Joseph needs his own miniseries, favorite character.
Thank you. I hope so too.
Will think about Joseph. I may film some short story, need a good idea for this to happen.

Astrid... Oh no, I wish she had made it 😔 the movie is perfect, I hope we can enjoy a sequel in the future. Revenge will definitely be insane!

I sure hope to make a sequel. But it takes thremendous amount of time and YT need consistency.
This was awesome! Fantastic work. Your passion is clear to see.
Thank you for the support!
And I thought it was funny that the drunk man fought really well lol
What can I say about Anna? She was spectacular! She gave it her all! In many tense moments I thought she was going to die in combat! And it was like "Wow! Wow!"
It's a mysterious world, where supposedly "God" has never stopped talking to his subjects, and aliens from somewhere else want to take over the world.
Amazing! Can't wait for more!
Thank you for the comment! Alas, this requires a tremendous amount of time.
wow, this is just THE next level!

Sharing across all my social media. Doing my part!
