Wonder if the Discovery 4 SDV6 3.0L luxury 2013 model has this? To be honest I just fill it with diesel and wash it, that's the only time I get to drive it 😔
Can you link the video to the hidden SIM card? I have a RRSport L494 16 plate which I’ve purchased recently and the previous owner has a subscription for the InControl service until September but he’s mentioned that this is linked to a SIM card he has purchased. However you mention it is linked to the hidden sim. Can you confirm?
The incontrol app will work with the sim card that is "hidden" in the car .. that will do your tracker and find my car stuff - but not the wifi network.
I would seriously consider a mobile broadband unit rather than inbuilt system. It's almost certainly going to work out cheaper than having RR add it as an option and you can take it with you if you swap cars or home broadband fails etc. EE & 3 etc do them with unlimited data for £20/moth or £10 with 20Gb which I would think would be more than enough unless you do a lot of travelling. You can also upgrade to 5G without having to change your car :)
Do you happen to know where the telematic module is located so I can split the 3G antenna cable off of it to hook up to my Merryway Head Unit? I would replace the antenna on the roof to support 4G, and split the cable to connect to the new merryway. Thoughts on a video on that? Also you can split the GPS cable from the sat nav below the head unit into the merryway, without that extra gps antenna, which has issues with signal through the heated windshield.

jason im trying to do the same thing and boost my 4g on the merryway unit via linking it to the roof antenna. Ive already split the GPS so want to do the same with the 4G now as the signal gained from that small antenna is terrible.. Was just wondering if you managed to do this or not? do you have a tips or ideas on how this can be done @powerfulukltd?
I have a 2020 Disco Sport delivered a few days ago. The sim is preinstalled and shows 4G successfully. However when I try to connect from my smart phone to the hotspot I get an error message after pressing sign in. Yes, I have checked the wifi name, password and even tried a different phone same result. Any ideas? Thanks
@@L663 I ordered a 2022 XS that comes with the built in WiFi. It mentions it takes ESims I was trying to find out if it would also take a physical sim as well.
@@SebastienBarrau Congrats on the new Defender. There are 2 ESims in the car as built on every car... one in the telematics module ( hidden and controlled by LR ) one in the infotainment system under the passenger seat - this is for the Pivi Pro system and hot spot etc. Then on some cars you have the physical SIM in the front dash ( this is normally only fitted in countries where Land Rover do not have a provider for the infotainment ESim )
Hi, i just bought a range rover 2019 LWB. I am trying to connect to the internet in its system using wifi and sim. But both of them gives me error messages saying mobile data not available or wifi not available. Could you give me a support on what's the issue here? Does the incontrol app require wifi or mobile data?

I have it in my 2015, but according to the manual it only supports 3G not 4G, so a bit pointless these days. Consequently haven't tried it out.
