    Former 56M in the Army Reserve for 6 years here, love your videos. I can see you're a solid chaplain. I've met some of the most amazing people who were chaplains, and I will always hold a huge respect for the Chaplain Corps. We have a high degree of professionalism in our conduct and work. Keep it up!

      Take care of your 56M. I was once a 18 year old 56M with my first assignment overseas in Germany. One thing I learned is your Chaplain needs to take care of you and not let other officers grab ahold of you for details and duties not related to your job as a 56M.

    I don't see that first benefit happening with a UMT that has a lot going on. The Chaplain is not going to do much to get NCO"s above you to excuse you from duties that the all company is involved and you are not going to want special treatment if you become a good soldier. Big benefit is you will learn all the aspects of the Army because you work with EVERYONE in the battalion if you are doing your job Berry Gordy was an Army Chaplain Assistant and I think all the things he learned helped him to run Motown.

    Hey Sir, sorry it's me again. I just had one more question that for some reason, my research isn't answering. I was wondering if you could tell if it's possible to become a chain through ROTC? I know I'd still have to go to CHBOLOC, but in order for someone who is starting from ground zero, no college education, could I start this way?

    • @TheTattooedChap
      @TheTattooedChap  Рік тому

      I do not know, this is often is a shifting thing over time based on the needs of the Army. I think the overall score is on the lower side, but it may require higher line scores, like the GT score.

    Can a Catholic 56M Religious Affairs Specialist refuse to serve the non-Catholic chaplain?

    • @TheTattooedChap
      @TheTattooedChap  Рік тому +1

      Negative. 56M serves as the support specialist of the chaplain they are assigned to…no later that chaplain’s faith background. However, that chaplain’s job is to provide for all faith traditions (but only perform religious duties of their own faith). So, if you were assigned to a non-Catholic priest/chaplain, you would be a great asset to the team because you could both advocate for and represent the catholic population in your unit with your chaplain. During the various garrison Mass times, you could like assist/serve if you wanted too.

      @@TheTattooedChap If I will be a 56M Religious Affairs Specialist, I WILL NOT SERVE THE NON-CATHOLIC CHAPLAIN because I am a devoted Catholic! 😇😇😇

      @@TheTattooedChap The non-Catholic chaplain cannot provide the Sacrament of the Eucharist to the Catholic soldiers. How can you explain that? The Catholic 56M cannot provide the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

    • @rsm1161
      @rsm1161 Рік тому

      @dakiladelfin 56M support the chaplain. It's not their job to be religious although we usually are.

    • @Lyon194
      @Lyon194 11 місяців тому

      I am a devout catholic as well. The chaplain's role is not to perform religious rites, although many can and do exactly that. However, the role of the chaplain is to be an advocate for all the religious life within in the unit, to mentor, and to counsel the emotional and spiritual needs of the unit among so much more. Your personal religious life attending or serving during Mass is separate from your daily role assisting the Chaplain. Your role is not to evangelize or represent the church, but to defend the religious liberties of each individual soldier and provide them with the resources they need in order to practice their faith.@@dakiladelfin

      Depends on the assignment/unit, but most chaplains/56Ms are assist a garrison ministry that provides services on the weekends. Typically, it is a rotational set up, i.e. one weekend a month. Also, you are often given a comp day for the weekends you do work-but that is not guaranteed.

    Hi @The Tattooed Chap. I couldn't find a chaplain recruiter (North of Florida). I sent a text Chaplain to goarmy, but a normal recruiter called me (really nice guy) and said that it doesn't matter.
    He presented me "Chaplain assistant" option. But I don't feel good about that...
    I have my Bachelor in theology and I finished my master in pastor ministry (48 credits). My call is even stronger now to become a chaplain. For that reason I think I should go straight to that.
    I need your advice brother...
    Should I apply for chaplain assistant?
    Chaplain candidate program and finish my master in divinity? Or just finish my MDiv by my own and then apply?
    there is any way to contact you.
    (no intention to bother you. I'm just looking for somebody that can walk me through this, like a mentor. By the way I am watching every single video of "Chaplain University").
    thank you brother

      Yeah, do not listen to that recruiter. Unfortunately, he/she does not understand the process. You need to go the Chap Candidate route. Shoot me an email at drew.s.mcginley.mil@mail.mil and I will connect you with the right person.
