- Muhammad Asif brilliantly sets up a fantastic batsman Kumar Sangakkara. This was the 1st test of the test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in 2006 at SSC Colombo (Sinhalese Sports Club). This was Pakistan's tour of Sri Lanka.

Muhammad Asif was a cricket scientist, inventor rather than a cricketer. He is something that belongs to cricket history or museum.He must be treated like an antique and extraordinary entity setting aside his personal character and outfit. Absolutely matchless. In his short career, he did what others couldn't do in decades.

Muhammad asif was a sensible wild swing bowler... He had great understanding of seam n swing bowlin against great batsmen....He often outclassed top class batters. Like Kumara Sangakara, sachin, Ricky pointin, Hashim amla, Ab devillers, Kevin peteirsen, Sehwag, laxman, etc

His love for cricket, passion of playing for the nation and greet makes him a million times ahead than many bowlers. Where swinging the ball both side was expertise of asif but due to lack of character he trapped himself in match fixing but on the other side with accuracy, killer mentality and discipline fast bowling McGrath played for 15 years and dominated over legendary batsman..... consistently for 15 years, which makes McGrath distinguished.....

This is some high quality seam bowling, even more so considering this was in sri lanka, one of the hardest places for a fast bowler. Asif had the perfect attributes - fast medium, smooth repeatable action and masterful control over seam (and also a bit of swing) that was difficult for batsmen to pick . Big pity his career ended in a ungracious manner.
Also Keeping in mind the humid conditions of Sri Lanka , which instantly drain the bowlers.

Ability wise certainly but longevity matters hugely.Form ,injury and confidence play a major role over a long career. He averaged 60 with the ball in Australia?
