I just want to say, I made this and put a strap not a buttonhole and gave to my gma in an assisted living facility. She puts it over the arm of her wheelchair. She is 98 and needs the ease of putting her Kleenex and such in and getting it out easy. Arthritis makes it hard on her. She has worn it out and now I will make her another one. But I will be making more for her to give to her new friends in there. Thank you for the pattern.
great Idea! How large was the strap? I thought I could make a few just to donate and work down my stash.
@@GrowingGreener maybe 5”. I am not sure but just enough to go over the wheelchair. I will look and hopefully get back with you soon.
@@sistertam Thank you!
I just showed this to my small sewing group and i an just see these hanging on grandchildren's doors at Christmas made out of Christmas fabric with surprises in them! How about the tooth fairy or Halloween or Birthday... great idea!! Thanks for posting. J
grandmajuki OH Wow Love it....Surprise bags:) Just be sure the button hole is big enough for all door knobs, if you are not sure and 1/2-1" more. thanks for sharing.love love love it
A great little baby shower gift to fill with little essentials!!
+Susie Annei Good idea!
One of these with a smaller buttonhole would be useful on the pegboard in my sewing room, for holding a few things that can't be hung from hooks!
I could listen to you say "again, against" over and over. That Canadian sound is clear.
The “do” she repeated throughout all her videos are annoying tho
I LOVE it! Going to make for my mom in assisted living to use on walker and/or wheel chair!
Love these. I could see them on the coat rack or on a peg shelf as well. For my grandchildren, i would probably stitch them by machine and add glitz to the outside.
Yours are my favourite videos as you are a good teacher and I find your voice so calming when I am stressed. I am recovering from breast cancer and like everyone have been feeling trapped in the house by coronovirus shielding measures. I feel inspired now to recreate a sewing space and try some of your projects to help my well-being. Thank you Laura ❤️
Sewwwwww cute! I always make a favor to give to my quilting friends at retreat time and always use a pattern of yours for something clever. Going to make these for our May retreat. Thank you Laura, you are an excellent teacher!
First I want to say thank you for sharing, I love this project. I like the fact that you can make two at the same time, great when someone comes to your home and likes and wants yours. Just whip out the other one, they get one and you can keep yours.
The first time I made mine I bonded two colors of felt together, squared my fabric and Heat n bonded bias tape around the edges except the bottom and cut it in half. I then folded the bottoms one over the other and machine stitched the bottom with a decorative stitch. I didn't want mine to be reversible I just wanted two colors showing. I will be making more, they make great gifts.
Just found your channel, and made these today. I am a complete beginner but your turorial was easy to follow. I even managed the bvutton holes without ever doing them before! Thanks for a great lesson
Just watched another great project idea....
Your voice is very easy on the ears!
💜
Totally awesome idea, as a Mom, I've been trying to figure out where to put my teens mail.... This is it! On their door!
Thanks..... Love your tutorials too!
+Theresa Everhart Now to get them to use it!!!! lol Thanks for watching
My first thought was I need to make one for my son to put his keys in (he is always miss placing them in his room). BUT, I am always placing mail on the stairs for him to take up to his room, and NOW you've given me a cute idea to use this to hang on the stair rail for me to place the mail (cuz he NEVER picks it up off the stairs! lol)
I know what you mean:)
This would be a great gift for teachers
Neat idea! Lovely bag to hang on your door nobs for your keys well anything really!! Thank you for sharing!!! Liz...
+Elizabeth Vallely Works great on the front door:)
Hi Laura, I'm going to make one for my car. Brilliant idea.
Great idea!!!!!
grate idea for pet owners who do alot of walking......keeping the pet leash and boop bags right there as you go instead of running around getting it all together before leaving for that walk.....very pretty and no one would guess it is the bag for the pets
+Janet McAdams Bailey good idea thanks for sharing
Love this idea! I am going to connect three together lengthwise and make it into a hanging toiletry bag. I will add a button closure on the pockets below. Can't wait to try this.
good idea thanks for sharing
Love that. It would work for remote controls which in my house, my husband buys anything that needs a remote control. I command hook on the side of an end table would do the trick!! Also in the car.
haha I hope it works!
LOVED this!! I put a large whimsical button where the sides overlap, so I can also button it closed to take with me! (Also helps keep the over lapping sides together 😉) GREAT for taking with me when I travel - I can hang it on the motel room door, and bingo - my room key and car keys are always ready for me when I leave the room!! And BONUS, the bright pocket reminds me to take my room key as soon as I grab the door knob! 😊
Very fine ya thanks
I loved this project! Thank you for all the great pointers! I'm going to try it with my craft club I run with high school students. I topped stiched with a fancy stich and then added a large button for two reasons - one for decoration and 2 for function, just in case there's something to actually grab and go :-) i wish i could take 100% of the creative "ah ah" moment, but it was my boyfriends suggestion. I look forward to trying more with my club!
Thank you! I love to sew but I'm not very good at it. I love this project and will make one for my pregnant friend. This is great for a new mom!
+Cat Lover You can do it! it really is easy. Let me know how you made out:)
what a great gift idea!
+Melody Stillings Think of all the things you could put in it!
I love this idea!! I'm gunna give these a try as organizers for our RV storage!! Thank you so much for sharing!💗
Thank you for your video tutorial, I think I've found my first ever sewing project to try.
I added a hook to the side of my sewing table and use it for catching threads. Thanks, love the pocket!
that is a good idea:) thanks for sharing
SewVeryEasy hello
Janet Perc jnnn
Janet Perc .
What do you do with all the threads? Can we use them in the garden?
Love this pattern!! Sew easy, I made a bunch of them to hang in our trailer for remote controls, brushes, air fresheners, etc. Anything that would fit, now all that stuff isn't cluttering up the few drawers I have. I even sewed some of them with a seam down the middle to more securely hold the TV remotes. Thank you!!!! I used command hooks to hang them.
You might also use an old brooch or pin on the front for a decoration and since it can be taken off it can still be reversible. In that way we can honor those items handed down to us instead of just keeping them in our jewelry boxes.
Pleased I found this old post ...it's a goodie 👍😃👏
This is absolutely perfect!! I've been looking for something to make as a catch all to hang at our door. Thank you so much for sharing!
have fun!
What a lovely idea. This will make a beautiful present for someone. Thank you. Only thing I would like to mention is, that I would have liked to see some of the sewing too.
Thanks and I will keep that in mind:)
Yes, I would have liked to have seen the hand sewing of all the layers at the bottom.
Hi Laura very cute and practical. Mmmm thinking of a nursery gift and also useful for my mother - pocket for her glasses! Thank you for posting

LINDA BROWN I never thought of silk flowers.thanks for sharing
Lovely idea and looked very easy to make. 🌸
I'm going to make a bunch of these to hang in my sewing studio.
+Kimberly Anne That would be fun:)
Another great tutorial--always easy to hear and to understand and lots of good tips.
+Marlene Carlson Thanks that is always nice to know:)
Im thinking I'll make something like this for the car❤️ thank you!
In the "older" days, we had knobs in our cars to hang things on, like a small trash bag, but not anymore as car dashes are so streamlined, but a 3M Command hook MIGHT work in a car to hold one of these pockets!
Elizabeth Hansen That's a good idea, thanks for sharing
Just love your ideas and making them a lot easier to produce will look forward to seeing more of your ideas and thank you again.
thanks

+Mabel Brooks I made one last night! it was quick and very easy to do! I love it. I plan to use it in for a bedroom doorknob. I made it for lotions and nail files for quick access. Thanks!
+Mabel Brooks thanks:)
+Mabel Brooks ....great idea! I think I will put one in my kitchen for lotions:)
Love it Laura. My husband and I have a travel trailer and when we go somewhere he is always, I mean ALWAYS, losing his stuff. After I make a couple of these and use some command hooks to hang them on he can keep better track of HIS things; probably not though. Thanks for sharing.
Wendy Hansen I know what you mean, I know someone that fits that description too...you better make a few of them:)lol
Wendy Hansen the 3M Command Hooks are a super idea, and one could then make a smaller button hole!
Wendy Hansen v

Very good video love that you do it simply and fast, excellent.
What a super, but simple idea - I can see myself making a few of these for small Christmas gifts, as well as some for around the home!! Thank you Laura.
Andrea Bond Glad you like the video:0 happy sewing
thank you laura from south korea
Thank you for this clever bag idea. I thought I'd finish mine off with an applique stitch to close the bottom instead of slipstitch. May be even a fancy stitch might work as long as one side is straight.
+C Fleyfel Good Idea! I like it:) thanks for sharing
Can be used as phone charger , stuff the plug true the hole and put the cell phones in the bag , hands great together to plug!!!
Ana Trampert po
Ana Trampert 😊I'm not sure about putting cell phones in an enclosed bag. I think They need to breathe [airflow] while charging. They tend to get quite warm. 👍🏽
Agree. I wouldn't do this. Don't know the effect excessive heat will have on both the phone battery and the electronics. That's in addition to be increased potential for a fire. Concerned that hanging this from the electrical plug is compounding the risk.
These are adorable Laura! I can't wait to make one, or two! :)
+Matt Valentine Have fun!
Hi Laura and thanks a lot for another great tutorial! 🌸🌸

I am certainly going to make some of these. What a fabulous idea. :)
+Jane Calland And just in time for gift giving:)
+SewVeryEasy Just a quick question as I am new to all this. What width is the interfacing you used. I'm in the UK so not sure if I can get the same make.
+Jane Calland This is what I used.www.pellonprojects.com/products/809-decor-bond/ It is stiff like Bristol board or thin cardboard. I believe it is available in the UK. good luck on the hunt:)
Nice idea, love your work and ideas, it makes me so excited , I just want to keep sowing....❤️🌹❤️🌹🇵🇹

I am so going to try to make these!! Really cute!
Lovely
señora Hermosa gracias por compartir sus ideas.
I just made one of these, and it looks great. However, making a buttonhole big enough for a doorknob is trickier than it seems. A 2 1/2 inch buttonhole didn't go over any doorknob in my house, even though several measure smaller than 2 inches in diameter. I suggest using some scrap fabric to test out buttonhole lengths for your doorknob.
ellheath that is a great idea Thanks for sharing
Great gift idea!!
Hi,you make every thing is so nice and beautiful .I love it's very much😍
