    Is there anywhere else that you think this tech could be useful? Matthew

      Could it be useful in a small jam session with a couple of guitars, a keyboard and vocals.

    just the same way Widex warns you to "check hearing aid" if one falls out, Widex should remind you if you walk away and forget your Sound Assist...or if it falls off... I've left it at a couple restaurants.... thankfully, both saved it even though they had no idea what it was.

    It is also very helpful in social gatherings when I clip it my own lapel. Anyone I am facing and chatting with will be amplified, and help overcome the background noise of others around me. My audiologist suggested this, and it really works in social / party environments.

    Hi Matthew, I have Moment 440’s, and have the usual HA difficulties, which the Sound Assist looks as if it could help with, (speech in background noise).
    Another issue with lots of us nowadays is TV clarity.
    My audiologist has just left me a TV Play to trial.
    After spending £3.7k on the HA’s, maybe £250 on the TV Play and maybe £350’ish on sound assist, I was wondering if the Sound Assist could be used to help with TV sound, therefore requiring only one add on device instead of two?
    Great video as always, many thanks

    • @HearingTracker
      @HearingTracker  Рік тому +2

      Hey Coops, thanks for reaching out. Sadly the Sound Assist doesn't have a TV streaming feature like some other manufacturer remote microphones so you'd benefit from both the TV play and Sound Assist. I would ask your audiologist if you can trail it first to see if it's worth the investment. I hope that helps, Matthew

    Yes, I will buy the Sound Assist. While I do have measurable hearing loss, noisy environments are really the only time I wear my Widex Moment hearing aids. Better, but not as good as having a remote microphone function at the other end of the restaurant table. iPhone works well, but Android has a noticeable lag time.

  • @andyg6030

    Can this be paired to a TV via Bluetooth to stream the audio? I’m aware that widex also have the tv play device, but it would be nice to do it all with one 😉

    I bought it! I loved it, and I highly recommend it. I use it in my German class and group meetings. At first, it wasn't easy when I didn't want people to realize that I was using it. It was even more challenging in one-on-one situations, as I had it discreetly on me, but couldn't hear the other person well. Could you please tell me how I could use it to listen in a one-on-one conversation without the other person using the device? Thank you

    • @HearingTracker
      @HearingTracker  Рік тому +2

      Hey Adriana, thanks for watching and taking the time to feedback. Ina 1:1 really it needs to be on their lapel, however you may do well with it on the table. I hope that helps, Matthew

    Have Widex moment considering buying this for when I go to restaurants with friends. Wish it were cheaper. I thought paying extra for Widex I would be able to hear clearer. Is there a trial time? Really don’t need it but every couple of weeks for that purpose. Also having to replace one aid. Because it kept disconnecting from the wire ear piece 😫. I did like the aid Widex aid finder but wish I could have found it after 2 searches in a store. Still shows location in my app location but 2 days. How to turn that off🙄

    I have a pair of old Wider Clear, can't reacll series and they are doing ok but the M-Dex has died, can they be connected by normal bluetooth or are they locked to the M-Dex? Do I need new aids or are there any work arounds?

    • @HearingTracker

    • @HearingTracker
      @HearingTracker  Рік тому +2

      Hey Adriana, you're right, the com dex is more for you taking phone calls on non-wireless hearing aids whereas this is a multitool with all the features outlined in the vid. I hope that helps. Matthew

    I have one huge problem. Have Widex Super and Widex Evoke, both equipped with telephone plus to stream stereo to both hearingaids when I use landline calls at work. This works flawlessly. But, I would like to have evoke with both Bluetooth to iPhone and telephone plus longpress function. As I know, there aren’t hearingaids from Widex supporting both technologies, only either one. My question is, is there any other hearing aid brand who have this streaming support for landline phones? And yes, I am aware that Widex have phonedex2, and that would solve my problem - if not my company switched over to ip-protocoll

    • @HearingTracker
      @HearingTracker  Рік тому +2

      Hey R Peter, the only other options would be Phonak as the use classic Bluetooth and can pair with any blue device including a landline with built in Bluetooth. Alternatively you could look at Oticon and the connectline phone adaptor, but it’s a little clunky in my opinion.
      A final thought is a landline with telecoil built in?
      Thanks for watching, Matthew

    i use my ComDex to stream podcasts about 6 hours a day. Does this replace the ComDex?
    I see it’s about $300, but with all the other ways to use this, this might be a better device.
    But this looks bulky, and the ComDex is nice and slim, easy to wear.

    • @HearingTracker

      Does it help to use the “room off“ function, adjust the “equalizer“ so that it’s registering “speech clarity”, slide the pointer more towards “sound assist” than “surroundings”, and then turn the volume down? Or are there other adjustments you would suggest?

      I turn off the background noise - long press on the - button. To put the bg noise back on long press the + button.

    Too bad it only works with Moment HA’s.
    I use Evoke 440 BTE’s and currently I’m using a Phonak Roger On for all kinds of meetings, be it online or offline. It seems to me this Sound Assist could replace it in all situations except conferences where the distances are a bit bigger.

      On page 6 of the instructions it says “The device can also receive audio from multiple sources (analog and digital) and transmit the audio wirelessly to the supported hearing aids.
      Further, the device can be used as a remote control to adjust the supported hearing aids to different listening situations.”…. What does this mean then?

    No wonder most elderly people struggle with annoying background noise. As we get older our ears ability to hear treble decline, and cognitive changes in our brain, makes it more difficult to destinquish between the speech or the signal, from the competing backing noice in our surroundings. Whats even worse is, that most people nowadays raise their voices to be heard when we are many, wich only adds to the problem. We than can chose to make conversation in places, that has no noise, or we can chose to discuss inportant things only being two. The worst plaque of our time, is the misplaced annoying background muzak, that is put into the news on TV, or desteoying videos of education or documentary, where you need the speech to follow the content. The best movies have super melodic soundtracks made by professionals like Tarantino, where the soundtrack supports the pictures. Electronic processed drumbeat Muzak, is not music. Please leave it out….everywhere.
