Glad to see your face again, Mr. Parker. Glad to hear that you remember the importance of taking care of yourself. Your comments about shorts are interesting; generally, I find shorts to be woefully short on information, and I resent UA-cam for pushing them on me. Keep up the good work, but don't burn yourself out!
It's nice to see you back, Raymond. Sorry about the health challenges you have been dealing with. It has been a few months since we were on the Island. We live in an amazing province, and your city is our favorite. I can almost smell the firs, cedars, and ocean. Thank you for your always upbeat videos. Cheers from Kelowna.
Thanks for dropping by, Randy. Appreciate your comment. Yep, I have to remind myself to appreciate what we have here and enjoy them. Life is short and sometimes difficult so we deserve to enjoy the good things.
Good to see you back in front of the camera after some therapy from Mother Nature. Nothing beats time in a forest. It's interesting what you said about UA-cam Shorts. I've dabbled myself, and have lost interest in making vertical short-form videos. I understand they can help people find your channel, but so can many other things. I believe the important thing is to understand who our audience is and what they want. My audience isn't interested in a 60 seconds of vertical video. My attitude is to make videos I believe in and please me, figuring if they cover topics I think are of interest, others will think the same. If they find the video. My little channel moves along like a tortoise, but that's fine by me as i'm not here to make money at this stage. Your filmmaking skills have increased greatly over the past year or so, I;d love to see some more cinematic films from you Ray. Cheers!
Thanks Simon. Agree with all you say there ... including that my skills have improved. Hopefully I can avoid the mistakes made on this one, next time. 😀
Thanks for the tip regarding Smallrig, I've been considering picking up the Nighteagle for my Z8 and the VB99, so if they're discounted I will probably buy them!
Yep. The cage itself is only 170g, kit w/ top handle and cable clamp 335g. There's also the "Night Eagle" version. The rest would depend on your build requirements/preferences.
@@RaymondParkerPhoto I just like the design of the night eagle version, not sure I’d ever need the top handle, but I would need an arca side plate to make it into an L Bracket for vertical photos.
Let me put it this way: if shorts was the only option, I wouldn't be on YT. So no worries. I also watch on the big screen. My content is made with that in mind. I can count the number of videos I've watched on a phone on one hand. I'm with David Lynch who thinks "it's such a sadness" that people believe they've seen a film on their phone.
@@RaymondParkerPhoto Glad to know I'm not the only one. Though I actually watched a CNBC video "How UA-cam Beat Netflix and Disney In The Streaming Wars". They said that 1 billion hours per day of UA-cam content is watched on TVs. So seems like there is quite a bit of TV based watching.
Hi Ray, beautiful vid, love you getting to the forest and sharing a snap shot of your world. Happy healing !!!
Cheers, Matt! This location is my new discovery. Will likely return soon.

Cheers! Yep, I could survive without shorts (though not in this hot weather). Yep, gotta pace myself.

This video is a fantastic blend of updates and insights!
So glad to hear you’re doing better!! I agree we all need a “mental health” break now and then.
Definitely. Workaholics deserve a break too! 😀
Can't wait to see some forest and salmon videos !
Hopefully coming in October!
Awesome stuff! Glad to hear you're doing better too!
Cheers!
Looking great Ray!
Cheers!

My pleasure. Great to hear. The Night Eagle and VB99 is an excellent choice.
You could have used the old Groucho Marx disguise. Glad you're healing well and feeling better about getting back in front of the camera.
I've been thinking of ordering one from the Antipodes! 😀
Very good to keep your sense of worth
You're like me...the forest re-energizes you. What a great forest you have there. Does the "Night Eagle" add much weight to the Z6III?

As someone who watches 95+% of UA-cam on a TV, I have almost no interest in shorts. So I selfishly I hope you continue with the non-shorts content.
