I often find I get stuck in spots where someone floats my c-bet and, if I'm weak, I have to decide if I'm going to 2-barrel on the turn. I'm thinking I should size down my c-bet so that my turn bet is a little smaller.
When analyzing stack depth, what do you do when there is a discrepancy? As in your are deep stacked, but your oppenent is shallow realitive to everyone else? Should you be considering it from your stack size, theirs or a combo? My inclunation is you should keep the bet small to try to get them to commit chips without shoving.
I've been using this strategy since I started following you, I would have liked some hand examples for this video. But if you can help simplify this spot: Consider hero has AT, BB calls and the flop comes K94r BB checks and we cbet say 2/3 pot (considering this is decent for our range thus a med-large size) and BB calls. Turn is a brick, say off suit 2. BB checks, do we continue blasting or give up? seeing as though there are very few logical draws available it's likely they have at least a king or 9 often in this spot unless opponent likes to float in this spot. I imagine this can go both ways depending on the opponent, but if we do continue blasting we go for a larger size on the turn? If he calls a pot size bet surely we give up on most rivers that aren't an ace. I sense a leak in this part of the vessel, so I approach the Captain to help get it patched.
Great video. Thank you! One question... in the C- betting flow chart, QhQc5s appears under three different categories: IP Strong, OOP Moderate, and OOP Weak. I understand how it can be both the first two, but it's not clear how it can simultaneously be the latter two. Maybe a typo? Thank you.

Thanks for the video! can you share some guidelines how the solver picks what hand to bet and what to check? BTN VS BB on J66 - KTo check but K7 bet etc
You have 15% premium hands then you need roughly 30% draws right? There’s a slide towards the end where hero has 17% premium hands but Jonathan says you can have max 25% draws in this spot… why wouldn’t we want more draw in our range then for the 1:2 ratio?
Do you play online still, Jonathan, and do you make any money? ACR, BetOnline, Ignition all seem to know what cards I have.....I just won 2000 playing 1/3 at Binions HorseShoe in Indiana with little effort.....I almost never play live
Range advantage is used when facing good players correct? Seems that way, if players are playing their hands because they like them rather than following gto pre flop strategy.
no, range advantage applies to all players. If you have a large range advantage (example, UTG vs BB on K Q 7 rainbow), it's incredibly likely that the opponent in the BB has absolutely nothing. No pair, no high card, something like J6s. In this scenario, if you bet frequently and small (example, 25% pot 100% of the time) your opponent in the BB is forced to call with a ton of their 'awful' hands. If your opponent won't call unless they have an overcard or pair, you're printing money with small bluffs due to the range advantage.
@kevinbeazy KQ7 is not a trash flop? If the board came 678 with a fdfd then the BB checked benefits greatly, but even in that scenario the equities are about 50:50
I think I cbet too little but recently ive started c betting a lot more eithee because i have a draw ip or because i should have the range advantage and this is working at microstakes!
Can someone give me an example of a flop that connects well with my opponent's range (which makes me want to c-bet bigger) And at the same time doesn't give my opponent the nut advantage (which would make me c-bet smaller) I feel like I don't really grasp the meaning of the "range connectivity" slide. In my mind it contradicts the "nut advantage" slide.
@@thenightwolfhowlwhat I think he was saying is that say you are sb vs Preflop aggressor utg I think he was giving examples of and board goes 4h 7h jd , the problem for the previously utg here is that the flop really screws over his range because most players will often have overpairs and premium hand when they bet utg. And that flop has now provided you with a lot more equity because you’re range has mote draws and 45s j5s yk . So when the currrnt nuts on the board is likely to get pushed out by flush draws low pairs low straights etc you can bet bigger to abuse the range you know the utg has
@@thenightwolfhowlyea any board with lots of draws you bet big on. But in this particular flop we haven’t really that much of a nut advantage, only AA really. I wouldn’t get to bothered about nut advantage when the pre flop raiser as people have different views on what it means. It’s easier to work out when you have an obvious nut disadvantage,ie board is 7 3 3 against a bb caller I’d stick to concentrating on range advantage
@Gos1234567 I think you only bet big on a wet board with thick value. If you have thin value and you bet big then you isolate yourself against made hands and the best draws which isn't what you want. If you bet big with thick value then you're happy to be up against the value and draws you're getting called by. So on a wet board you bet big with thick value and small with thin value, mixing along the way.
I always C-bet when the flop looks like something that might actually be good for me. @@CRT4Dummies Correct. If i'm sitting in your opponent's seat, it's actually somewhat polarizing when you Cbet AAx flops as the preflop aggressor compared to slow playing and subsequently delayed-Cbetting any turn card. It's a lot easier to build a pot for value on the flop and consider getting tricky by checking back the turn, which can induce OOP player to bluff or value bet a worse hand.
