I have been using coconut oil as a pre-poo for months now, I braid my hair and I leave it on overnight. Since I have been doing this I have noticed a HUGE difference in my hair. There's no breakage, it's a lot stronger and healthier and I have noticed a big difference in shedding, it doesn't shed as much as it used to:-) and my hair is sooo moisturized and the oil really does help protect my strands from shampoo.
I tried this on my daughter's hair this weekend and it made her hair SOOO soft. She has thick, tightly curled hair. The ends of her hair always feel very rough. After letting it sit on her hair for a few hours I washed her hair like normal. I was easier to style. I noticed how soft it was the next day once her hair was dry. It was like her hair was literally thirsty. I will definitely be using this weekly. Thanks for sharing!
Hi India! I have been using this weekly for one month, amaze balls 😜😜😜😜!!! I usually put in before bed and wash and style the next morning. I've been natural for 3 years and I've used coconut oil the entire time. I have NOT seen the results that THIS concoction gives me. Thank you so much, keep the tutorials coming!!
Great video India ..... i whip coconut oil for my body butter but never thought about using the whip in my hair for some reason. Just use the actual oil, will be trying xoxo
I never thought to use coconut as a pre-poo treatment for hair! I use olive oil for a pre-poo treatment. I love coconut oil! Thanks for the video, I'm definiately going to try this one!!!!!!
I love shea butter and coconut butter blended together, they have so many wonderful benefits! I usually add olive and jojoba but my new current favorite is Baobab oil.
I will try this tomorrow. I will pre poo and then workout at the gym. I learned that I have hard water so I will do the whole wash day routine at the gym where the water is filtered!! Yes! and the sauna is my steam treatment (lol)..... Thanks for the recipe. Ohio weather is hard of my 4zzzzz hair and I am sure this will help.
I also use coconut oil ONLY as a pre-poo and I use olive oil and castor oil in my deep conditioner, but I will give your pre-poo a try. I loved how smooth the pre-poo became ! Love your video's sistass !
I just whipped up my own batch today. I always use coconut oil as a pre poo but I always felt it was a little messy to apply. This is a great alternative and a def staple for me from now on! Although I prefer to add it to slightly damp hair lol. Thnx for the suggestion!
Thank you so much for the recipe! I've been trying to find a good pre condition for my hair because it's so dry. By the end of the day my hair is very thirsty. You ladies always have really good hair tips. Keep them coming!
I "liked" this video before I finished watching it because I've got all the items already, so that's a plus. We all know how hard it is to wait to get out to the store when u can... After watching the video, I liked it even more!! Can't wait to try this. My hair always seems to be on the dry side. Maybe I will give an update after trying this a few times. Thanks for the videos:)
First- I LOVE YOUR HAIR! Second- thank you so much for the demonstration! I'm gonna try this with coconut milk then whip in this conditioner concoction I have of henna oil conditioner, shea oil, various essential oils, and even melted down bar conditioner. My concoction stared with henna oil conditioner that was far too thick and gooey to spread. so I keep adding things to it in efforts to create a creamy conditioner texture that has spread! Cross fingers!
I love it! I'm definitely going to try this. It's a good idea to give it away as a gift. I have a few friends who are returning to natural also. thanks for the good ideas! I love coconut oil and use it as part of my regular hair regiment. I also use it daily on my skin. It's also very good for cooking in place of butter.
It also works great to protect flat iron styles from frizz. I put a shea butter olive oil whip on daily, about a quarter size amount thru my hair & ends when its straightened. Doesn't weigh it down, fights frizz/reversion, and keeps hair moisturized.
I love the consistency of the Whipped /cocoanut. I will definitely try this out. I just made some whipped Shea Butter mix and it is amazing. Your hair turned out as beautiful as you are. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed week. xoxo
Tried this today and it turned out great. However, due to the summer time heat, it melted within an hour so it's probably best to store it in the fridge
I'm actually trying the whipped coconut oil today for the first time and so far it's going pretty good except for the fact that oil keeps running down my face and neck lol
I woke up and I saw your video and by chance I had all those products in my cabinet that I brought and I never used right now I am in my hair dryer and my hair is super soft.gracias por compartir.besos from Montreal,QC
I mix my coconut oil pre poo with trader joes tea tree conditioner. It seems to help with the melted mess I get when I'm under the dryer. I think I will go back and use oil only and see if there is a difference.
Just came across this and it seems like an awesome idea! Why is it best to use it on dry hair? I normally melt coconut oil and use it to detangle so that I'm pre-pooing and detangling at the same time.
First: I could listen to you talk all day! Your voice is very calming. Second: I will be trying this for my next pre-poo. I need to stop this random breakage!
It's my pre-poo night. I think I'm gonna try this pre-poo and compare the results to the pre-poo that I normally do. I don't have any avocado oil tho. And I'm going to use peppermint oil instead of tea tree oil.
Tried this recipe today and wow!!!! i just love it. love the texture and the feel of it in my hair. Made so much that even my mum is taking part in this.
How often do you pre poo? How often do you co-wash? How often do you Deep condition? & how often do you do a hot oil treatment...if so? Can you please answer all of the questions? I will really appreciate it.
awesome video. I've used coconut oil as a pre poo and I LOVE it. never tried it whipped, seems like like a luxurious hair treatment. Good video, thanks for the recipe
Great video! We made a whipped coconut oil on our channel too ; we use it all the time, as a pre-poo, or to lock moisture in our hair.. Even on our body, to nourish our skin! I really love it and it smells so good :)
Excellent video. I use these oils, however i use them after i shampoo and sometimes i mix these olis in my conditioner for a treatment. Which video editor did you use if you dont mind me asking?
Great video! I love coconut oil for pre-poo! I usually use it straight out the container. I generally mix coconut oil with Shea butter and other oils for my hair and body. Definitely gonna try this mixture! XoXo
Hey India! love da vids :) Did you put it in the refrigerator to keep it whipped or did you leave it on the counter and it still stay whipped? Is it cool in da house (like did the temperature help keep it cool)? sorry for all the questions...I want to make this and idk if I should put it in the refrigerator or just leave it in a container in my room to use when I'm ready to use it.
Thank you so much india. This is the best sealant/ product I have tried on my hair since being on a hair Journey. This is just so bliss my hair feels silky soft and extremely moisturize. This is a holy grail product for me and a staple in my products. Did n,t know coconut oil could be whipped the texture is gorgeous and my feels like heaven this has saved my 4c hair in the braids. Thanks so much. My mixture (coconut oil , Jamaican black castor oil, macadamia , avocado oil and evoo
***** 5 hours and my hair is still moisturize and soft im so happppy thanks sooooo much my dryness is finally over !!!!!!!!! My only problem is preserving the mixture as its hot its melting so do i have to keep it in the fridge all the time(it wont have the creamy texture) ?
I would love to do this! I'm a little worried about though about storage. Does this return to a whipped texture after melting? It's bound to happen since I don't keep my ac running all day.
I love this idea for a pre-poo treatment and your hair came out really nice. I was wondering if I can use any other oils (i.e. peppermint, almond, castor) along with the whipped coconut oil pre-poo recipe. Also, where do you get that jar? Just curious...:)
Hi, it is a really nice video, I use coconut oil every day and it is amazing for keeping my curls nice and define (plus the silk beanie of course:)). I keep my coconut oil at around +6 Celsius in the fridge, and a little jar separate from a big one in the bathroom, so I can just quickly deep my fingers into it and run them through my hair. (The coconut oil solidifies when kept in the fridge, but it warms up quickly as well over a water bath to make it very liquid or if you let it sit on a kitchen bench for a while before using it). Do you have to keep the whipped mixture in the fridge or can I also have it in my bathroom? (It gets to about +26 degrees in there). Also, I have Caucasian hair, however due to Israeli genes, they are very curly, especially in humid weather. I find that coconut oil in small quantities gives shine and moisture, and in bigger quantities (left in my hair overnight before the morning wash), deals with the overdrying of my hair and frizzyness, as well as strengthens my hair. It is great as after-powder treatment and as a preparation before powders as well. (I have used it after and before amla powder treatment, do not use it before not very sticky powders like hibiscus, as it will make the powder really hard to work with). Olive oil, on the other hand, makes my hair feel softer and and not as hard, so it is good when I want to do smooth buns. (Sort of smooth, as you can never do it super smooth unless you use artificial straightening products, which are very harmful for your hair structure). I feel that avocado oil makes my hair stick together (heavier?), but I guess it might be good for split end treatment (however a little trim is always the best idea, if possible :)). Overall, I cannot use all the tips from your videos due to my hair structure, but you definitely have some really great ideas, which I can totally use on my own hair to make it look natural, healthy, 'unstandardised', and... happy! Thank you!

The past few months I usually slap coconut oil on my hair the night before I am about to wash and sleep with it. My hair has LOVED it!

I've been natural for 3 years and I've used coconut oil the entire time. I have NOT seen the results that THIS concoction gives me. Thank you so much, keep the tutorials coming!!
Did this to my hair, left it in for 4 hours then did my regular routine wash. It was awesome, loved it can't wait to do it again, thanks India😊
Great video India ..... i whip coconut oil for my body butter but never thought about using the whip in my hair for some reason. Just use the actual oil, will be trying xoxo

Those twists look gorgeous!
I love shea butter and coconut butter blended together, they have so many wonderful benefits! I usually add olive and jojoba but my new current favorite is Baobab oil.
I loved the fact that it was simple and you didn't make it a production.

I never thought of whipping the coconut oil. I looks so good. I will try.
I will try this tomorrow. I will pre poo and then workout at the gym. I learned that I have hard water so I will do the whole wash day routine at the gym where the water is filtered!! I've been using this on my 4b hair as a sealant, I never knew my hair loved coconut oil so much! It's not as dry anymore! Thanks! :)

India, the twist and curl is bomb chile
Thank you so much for the recipe! I've been trying to find a good pre condition for my hair because it's so dry. By the end of the day my hair is very thirsty. You ladies always have really good hair tips. Keep them coming!

Hi...Could u also put this in braided hair as well...like cornrolls
I’m a brunette but have a lot of breakage. Will it still help? Im so jealous of your curls btw!!
Okay I LOVE this stuff. I remixed it a little. I didn't have any avocado oil and instead of tea tree I used peppermint oil. Oh wow I love it
I bet it smells amazing with the peppermint!
So amazing and you can feel a great tingle on your scalp
Love it! Just made some. Thank you!
This is cool. I'm going to try this on my skin too :) it's like stretching one jar of coconut butter too. Great idea
