    Oh cool, I installed the remaster when I set up the game and had the crashing when enemies hit me, it was in a certain spot and i was able to replicate it. So I started removing the mods I had one by one, finally figured out it was your mod. I might reinstall the mod now that the issue might be fixed, because it really does look amazing graphically! Keep up the good work.

    I personally want more paralax occlusion mapping on more surfaces....... I love love LOVE that look of every surface having more depth to it. I'm not complaining in the slightest though!! The mods FANTASTIC!

    Well the "moon" of the Hunter's nightmare is probably put there by artists, so I wouldn't move it, to me it's not a problem if the actual light source is not matching

      My main concern is it will somehow disrupt any handcrafted landscape that look cool with the moon in that position, instead of the "correct one"

      @@eddyhg8098 Thanks for clarifying, I agree. I think the moon is where it is in Hunter's nightmare for specific reasons, it really looks nice where it is placed especially when you load into the the area you are at the exact spot to see this great view.

      this is true! I'm personally fine with the shadows not aligning to the lightsource since it's a nightmare anywho, plus I don't think anyone really cares or notices that stuff. I'm gonna move it back before the next update, but at least it was a good excuse to show how that stuff all relates and how the engine handles it

      @@fromsoftserve People do care and notice that stuff, even if only a handful of people. That's one of the main criticisms about the Demon's Souls ps5 remake, the fact that, without the involvement of FromSoftware, Bluepoint not only redesigned but completely changed some assets and replaced soundtracks, etc, all of which were the way they were in the original for a reason. The low resolution was a result of the limitations of the time, and that's what remasters are for, but IMO a third party should not change the actual content and visual identity of the source material if the work is meant to make that source material more accessible in the first place. I look forward to play "Bloodborne PC" because I want to experience the game crafted by From/Miyazaki without having to buy a ps4/5.
      We don't know whether the misalignment of the angle of the Moon and the shadows on the ground was intentional or not. It might very well have been an accident, but so was Gwyndolin's design in DS1, for example, and no one but the creators have the right to say it's a mistake or something that needs fixing at all, since even the accidents are the end result of their vision. All that is part of the work, it influences the impact on the player/consumer, it influences how the work might be interpreted, etc. You wouldn't replace the broken statues in DS1 with broken versions of Nameless' statues in DS3 in order to be "more accurate", for example, at least not in a graphic enhancement project. You wouldn't "fix" the Bed of Chaos fight in a remaster project either. That kind of stuff should be separate mods.

      I think you can just revert the moon positions and keep dynamic and baked shadows alligned :)

    I think fromsoft's artistic vision is something that goes deeper than just how things immediately look in the game, like in the hunter's dream that werid light you noticed. Maybe it was intentional since, y'know, it is a dream and things tend to be weird in dreams and that light was one way to give that impression

      I wouldn't give them that much credit. Bloodborne is very janky, and it's obvious that the game is held together with duct tape and prayers.

      And even if it's not intentional, that is part of the work of art they released. Those "accidents" influence the way the game impacts the player and how it may be interpreted. The work itself has value beyond the artist's intent. How many theories about From games are technically wrong or aren't canon because they are not exactly what Miyazaki had in mind during development? Those are still valid regardless, and that's part of the reason Miyazaki leaves lore details open instead of spilling all the beans in interviews or on the internet, since the lore is meant to be murky, the mysteries and windows for interpretation are supposed to be there.
      The same goes for artistic decisions in level design, skyboxes, lighting, soundtrack, boss mechanics, enemy designs etc, be those intentional or not.

    Got the chance to test it, no crashes is confirmed! 🎉
    But I get a lot of flickering, like the one you fixed on the rock in the video.
    They are everywhere, and they are very distracting, I would love a polishing update :)
    I'm not demanding it, but it kinda defeats the purpose of the mod if new issues are appearing

    Thank you for your work, man. This is some really great stuff. I tried the previous version of your mod, and while it looks fantastic, unfortunately, I can't get 60fps on my 3090 yet. I'll definitely try it again when shadps4 becomes just a little bit more optimized on the GPU side

    Let’s go dude. Tried the remaster mod at 1080p 60 and was having the crash on hit consistently. Hopefully that won’t happen now and I can go back to playing it.

    personally i wouldn't move the position of the moon in the hunters nightmare, the mismatch doesn't bother me but the new position seems odd

    Moving the Sun in the Old Hunters might mess up some views, like when you go throught the cave right to the grand cathedral, and when you exit and the fov changes

    What are "reflectance maps"? Roughness? Specular?
    18:18 That issue also exists in your modded version of DS3 with the dynamic shadows. Specially in areas like Itithil.

    wouldn't you feel more at ease by using some version control system like git? not sure how many files are there in index, so perhaps git won't do, but still, doing all these modifications raw, sound scary as hell

    I understand correctly, i only need to change the folders map, obj, param, and the reshade-shaders folder can be copied to the folder with the emulator and the Reshade exe file there , right ? I also use Vertex explosion fix via JSGME loader. And I also have the Intel gfx fix v27 Moon Sand Chikage mod.
    But when I installed three folders from your mod, my weapon invisible and a triangle appeared that comes from the player, sometimes it can appear . And how to fix it? What could have influenced this?
    I installed the mod for the first time, immediately 0.87 version, and I use the emulator Nightly version shadps4-win64-qt-2025-02-08- 9dc3e39
    Do I need to install Restore Baked Lighting? And if so, where can I get it?

      There are separate mods that handle the vertex explosions already. They can simply be installed alongside the remaster.

    I'm genuinely worried that you're gonna get a C&D before making too much progress on this and furthermore I'm worried that BB getting a C&D would spiral into them C&D your other mods out of spite (not sure if they have the legal basis for doing that, but if Sony decides to do something, no normal person has the money to challenge them in court).

    Question about the mod description on nexus: Should we install reshade before the mod and then add you preset or does you preset work out of the box? I installed reshade and chose your preset in the reshade options in-game, but it didn't seem to make a difference from the default preset. Also, do you use the 60 fps mod? The game seems to work fine on 60 except for the baby jumps (prepare to die edition had that problem too, lol)

    Distributing the games files will get your mod taken down by Sony.
    Making your own textures should be fine.
    Be careful.

      You cant play 4K modded or unmodded at least not without crashing. Even i can tell that. Emulator itself is not that far.

      The main issue right now are CPU bottlenecks, the GPU is fine, if my 3060Ti can run 1080p 60, I think a strong GPU like the 4070 could do 4K 60.

      what is this in response to? lol. I'm pretty sure I didn't mention optimization in the video, unless you're talking about the mod itself causing performance loss, which it of course does. Dynamic shadows do cost performance. Nothing I can do about that.
