SO i bought it and drove from Idaho to washington to get it now and the color I wanted, 4 month wait time locally, I don't care that it is underpowered I needed a quieter ride, more room and yes the 360 is nice but the Toyota was so dang loud and REALLY expensive - everything else I drove which was quite a lot felt tippy or too high centered - there is either a boat ton of bells and whistles or some bells not whistles - and its a Honda - will hold its price, Happy with purchase 30 days in
I test drove this model and it was beautiful. I loved the ride, I loved the quality of the interior. But for the price, and what I am hearing about real world fuel economy, the Tucson Limited Hybrid has the exact same MSRP The Tucson Hybrid Ltd has more space, more power, better fuel economy, longer warranty and way more "cool" features like lane change cameras and 360. So... it's a tough call although the ride and handling is better on the CRV
@@adamnagel7436 neither is the CRV. Lots and lots of UA-cam reviewers complaining about it. Personally I think every single person drives too fast on the freeway. 75 is too much. 55-72 is best for mileage.
Sounds like the Tucson is a great option, I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't seen your comment. I will check it out. I'm happy that there are more and more compelling choices in this market segment. More choices means each of us is more likely to get the best vehicle for our particular needs and preferences.
I’ve owned a 2022 CRV Touring hybrid for just under a year now and I can say that the gas mileage numbers Honda quotes are way way too high. Very poor both city and highway. Winter or summer. But, obviously, much worse in the winter. My advice is, if buying a Honda, just get the regular engine model. Go to Toyota if you really want your hybrid to get the gas mileage that’s advertised.
thank you for saying this, as I have ordered a '23 EX-L and the dealership just called me to say they would sell me a Sport Touring Hybrid for only $2k more ($1500 below MSRP in USD). I am doing more research on it and likely concluding that it probably isn't a worthwhile upgrade for me, and your real world experience with mileage is one of my concerns.
In the USA the numbers that Honda quotes are actually generated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) using standardized testing, the same for all vehicles sold in the US. If your numbers are much worse I would have a dealer look at it hoping to find a malfunctioning sensor somewhere.
@@dougpratt3562 We actually did have it checked a couple of times but Honda service folks said it was a-ok. One of the service advisors did confess, off the record, that…well…let’s just say he may have inferred that Honda hybrids are a bit lacking in actual mileage versus what is indicated (by EPA) on the window sticker. I can only say my results have confirmed what he may or may not have inferred. My daughter has a 2021 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid that’s she driven 14000 miles both city and highway in all seasons. She’s never seen anything south of 44 MPG in all those miles which is pretty spot on when you look at what the window sticker indicated. Take what conclusions you may away from that but in a real world comparison…Toyota wins by a landslide. Just my two cents.
@@wendywest2990 1500 under msrp?that's a no Brainer grab that hybrid before someone else does. I heard herr in usa. they're adding 5 or 6k adm on them or msrp but forced dealer accessories car cost like 50k
I’ve owned 3 x Hondas (with the last being 2015 CRV) and agreed Honda never gets the advertised fuel economy. Your best bet is the quoted city mileage and slightly lower because they rate it running on Econ mode and it’s terrible in that setting. That being said I still like Hondas…just not the fuel economy. And this generation hybrid pricing in Canada is out to lunch compared to competitors like Toyota, Kia and Hyundai. Would be hard to justify even for a Honda loyalist such as myself.
i just traded in my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT of 8 years (100k + mils) for a new 2023 Honda CRV touring sport hybrid. I like it so far. rides smooth, quiet, and gas is awesome. Saw a black CRV at the dealer and i just had to jump on it before it was gone (idk about other places but these things fly down here) + my dealer was not doing a silly mark-up adjustment (Thousand Oaks, CA Honda), that all dealers are doing - well they were but "they didn't do it for me" they said... so i saved myself $5k. Any way, things don't cost the same as before as you well know... 10 years ago i would've thought that if i would've dropped $50k on a new car it would be a BMW or Mercedes - nope. Its a Honda. Happy to say the least - its a change from my truck for sure but change is for the good... this little car drives, feels, & looks awesome.
Is this only available in front wheel drive? I cannot find any mention of what powers the rear wheels. Is there a driveshaft, is there an electric drive or nothing at all? Thank you so much
Just wondering - as a dad of 3, how big car I need to buy to put 3 carseats in 2nd row? Pilot - without childsat friendly tilt - not perfect, odyssey - can it fit?
It is…much nicer. Too bad didn’t come in a sport trim. Lots of room where the 1kwh battery is now to put 10-15kwh so can see a plug in version coming eventually.
would you get one of these or the Subaru Outback Wilderness or the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro you reviewed previously? It's great to have individual reviews but it's hard to then compare them against each other because most reviewers just compare stuff in the same category. How would you rank these three vehicles if you could only have one car?
That’s a tough one because the TRD pro cost so much more so it’s not really fair. If the price was the same and I didn’t have to pay for gas the the TRD Pro 😂. For feature and everyday driving it would be close but I might pick the Outback Wilderness. The CR-v would almost be perfect if it just had a few other feature that the competition offers and maybe a PHEV option.
Terrific review, very detailed and helpful info, thanks! Why do Honda and Subaru use orange stitching on the black interior upholstry? Do they think their customers celebrate Halloween year-round? Pick something more neurtral, please, like white or black stitching. Orange is not traditionally a speedy color. Yellow is, but yellow stitching would also be polarizing. Maybe shoot for "not polarizing" for the interior. Otherwise, the cr-v hybrid looks like a winner!
@@dah5096 Thanks, good to know. Unfortunately for me, I'm only interested in the hybrid version. I'm not going to let the stitching color stop me from buying an otherwise terrific vehicle, I'm just annoyed and venting. I'm sure other folks love it and happy for them.
very good city miles in the crv sport touring hybrid 37-41mpg sorry you pay over $50,000 on Canada, US $40,000 still pricey like you said but you can get the sport hybrid for 33-35,000 with or without and can you buy it and bring it to Canada 🇨🇦 🍁 ? I don't no what the taxes may be.
As a Honda fans, with 2 Civics in the family. I am disappointed to see hybrid only available on top trims, instead of following Toyota's move on availability of LE trim. Not many consumers need those luxurious features, while most only need necessary features on base LX trim. My parents bought a 2019 Civic LX sedan for exactly that reason.
Great review !! But not impressed with hybrid powertrain. Poor fuel economy and complex system and over priced. What are they trying to do , make us believe it is a EV. Common, just use the best hybrid system on planet as done by Toyota.
Just test drove 2023 CRV hybrid and 2023 Accord hybrid. 2023 CRV hybrid: everything is pretty good except very NOISY cabin. 2023 Accord hybrid: everything is good.
. 1) The front hood is extended to make it look larger, but under the hood it shows it's just hollow space. 2) It isn't better on gas than the 2022. 3) It is slower to accelerate from 0 to 60 than the 2022. 4) There is no mention of Honda fixing the CR-V theft problem. Sorry, but it's a hard pass. RAV4, CX-5, Rogue, all better options.
Look at the price almost $60k on the road in Canada only 200hp, no ventilation seat, no fog light, no 360 cam, and Still using light bulbs for rear turn signal you got to be kidding 👎👎👎
It's truly remarkable how many people get a hybrid, drive it just like a gas car, and then say the mileage is bad! The whole idea of a hybrid - at least if you want it to work - is to drive differently, keeping the vehicle in electric mode as much as possible and using regenerative braking. Otherwise, why bother?
Good review. Personally, while I like the overall design, it is overpriced, and has too much focus on "blacked out" wheels, interior, and trim. I would never buy it.
nope no spare tire deal breaker.i dont trust the tire inflate in a can they give you.and if it doesnt work your waiting for a tow truck.saving fuel reason very miniscule.

I saw this in person for the first time today and thought it was a straight up Rav4. Boy they really just copied that design huh? Took volvos tail lights too and just slapped a honda logo on it
Just a correction towards the end of your video, those paddle shifters are not for gear simulation. Those adjust the strength of the regen-breaking

Yup, I have one and I love it. My car that I had prior was a 24 yr old civic (and I got $2500 for it), so I'm still sold on Hondas.
Love the review. It's disappointing that these hybrids are being reserved in the luxury trims, costing upwards of >$50k CAD.
