A family of 3 working adults with a monthly household income of $10k is tough to sustain? Wow…. Then try to swallow this….: a family of 5 with only 1 working adult with an income of $5k before CPF deduction, supporting 2 elderly with ailments (1 having Parkinson’s with medications costing more than $200/month & 2nd having colorectal cancer adult diaper cost another $200/ month excluding medication etc)….n no choice being forced to engage a 2nd maid cos afraid 1st maid might complain to MOM of maid abuse🤦‍♀️ so in tat household, 1 working adult with household income of less than $5k supporting 2 elderly n 2 maids…try swallowing tat….😤

Household income of $10k monthly, which works out to roughly $3k+ income per capita is hardly low income.
They should interview those on low income of earning less than $1k per capita...

The budget breakdown is not comprehensive and probably pick the wrong family. Something very wrong with the maths in the video

Useful to see how people spend their money. Things have started to get scary about 2-3 months ago. I’m retiring soon so I’ve put in some extra effort to see what I can do. I’ve also started a UA-cam channel recently to share my methods and discoveries on how to spend less and yet maintain a happy standard of living. 😊

    Talk is easy...I also know
    When u have children how
Government keep on encouraging ppl to give birth but too little help...
Frankly speaking, after all the monthly and children expenditure...more ppl hardly save much fir retirement
Don't talk about university graduates pay....middle income are struggling for month end especially those with sick parents to take care also
For those ppl who doesnt have such issues...it is so easy to say...
Look back last two years during covid times, many got retrenchment and some got pay cut. ..
Our government can't never understand what the lower and middle come voices...
Only last two years, the lower and middle income basic pay gradually increase...
As compare to euro, Japan...their lower and middle income are roughly around 3k to 5k...inflation are going up and recession are on the card...no matter how hard we cut down our expenditure, we are no where there as compare to many first world country...than how can we tell the world, we are first world...reflections...our government are too slow to react to revive the pay of many....resulting many older citizens struggling to meet month end need...and also have to work till very old..look at Japan....most of the senior citizens don't have to work...why because their earlier day, their pay are so high ...enough for their retirement...well ...life goes on...too develop so fast it is also not so good for everybody...the pave must be balance for that many won't struggle at the retirement age..example....for freelance, taxi drivers, grab and food panda delivery, who don't have much cpf...how...siao liao...

It's everyone's responsibility to make financial planning and spend wisely. It's fortunate that the caring s'pore govt provides permanent financial support for the lower income group. ❤️❤️❤️

Fully agree with you! I was panicked when I turned 55: no savings, $80k personal loans etc. Fortunately, the 'forced savings' in CPF let me have money to pay off the loans, started financial planning and save up a handsome sum of money by 62!
