Thank you for your knowledge. I'm an over the road truck driver who got tired of tv and games and found leathercraft. I'm new to this, and your videos, training, and patterns are a big help.
Wow! I can't believe it! Always when i struggle with something i don't like on my products i go to your channel and it's already there! Right now i wasn't happy with my photos and you just uploaded new video about that. Thank you very much man, you are gem!
Thanks, man!! I use an Olympus mirrorless camera, myself, but I started with my phone. All the concepts pretty much stay the same no matter what you shoot with.
Dude!!!!!! This is your best video yet, and honestly i am going to use these tips to get some photos done! For a guy like me who has been doing leather for about ten years, i've been waiting for someone to tell me how to get the dang photos to pop like that! great work man!
I just came across your you tube channel and this video. It was very helpful but I have a question! I have a line of leather accessories: bags, wallets etc and I use a lot of colored leathers and suedes and have the hardest time getting the correct color of the leather when taking pictures on my phone or camera. Do you have any suggestions on how to get the most accurate color and then I am happy to edit to achieve a closer color after. Thanks so much.
Awesome! Just the right video at the right time - I need to start photographing some of my leatherwork so this is going to be a big help! Thanks - Just a quick question - where did you please your softbox light in relation to where you were photograhing?
Thanks for watching , Adrian! I usually place my light furthest from me, with the products between me and it. I position it above them angled down. That way it lights the tops of the product but casts a nice shadow toward me. For whatever reason I find it looks nicer than being on the same side as the light.

@@BlackFlagLeatherGoods also, I spoke that bubbly with kombucha! Makes a refreshing beverage!
I'll give it a shot! I'm not the biggest kombucha fan but this might make me like it!

A gray card may help. Take an extra shot of the gray card along with the product. Then during editing you can set white balance to the gray card.
thank you!
Hey Dan,
Have you thought of using a light box? Quite easy to make. I got three diffused light bulbs from a local hardware chain.
I've definitely thought about it, but I like having a bit of stuff in the backgrounds so I'd need to build a huge one.
That Necronomicon alone is worth a Sub lol
Haha thank you!! My sleeve on my right arm is Cthulhu too haha. Big fan.
Thanks for the sub!
How do you have the background so shadowed in your session? You can see the table and all your props but the room beyond is just black.
I use a good key light in a dimly lit room, then use the masking function in Lightroom to further darken the background.
