Re: "no offense Marcus...", Lol, no offense taken -- I am always happy to see new things Curta. I can't wait to see more about your build! I have a Curta discord server I would be happy to share. I started it recently to try and better support those building 3d printed versions and future curta related projects I am planning.
This was one of my "maybe one day i'll..." projects, so it's amazing you are going to get on this! Probably going to be a hellish process, but at the end you will have made your own little "piece of history" and honestly make a really neat Open Source Projects/Product for makers!.
Conversion errors are definitely a good point. Most of it will be exactly 2x the metric drawings but the shafts are tricky. I would make way more mistakes shaving down 20 1/8" shafts and drilling out bushings than I will doing a conversion.... 😁

Thanks for the encouragement, I may need it! This will be a challenge for sure but it'll be worth it. Enjoy!
Hey where did you reach with your build, no update ?
I am still building up the courage to start.... 😕. It will be soon though 👍
Hello, whats the progress?
Unfortunately not much..... I will get back to it but other stuff has come up. Thanks for checking!
If you need some help with the translations from the German patents, I could try to help you out.
Thanks! If I run I to any roadblocks I'll let you know 👍
@@thoughtbombdesign Good luck with your print!
Use metric!
Haha, I might! It just depends on material availability and what stock size makes the most sense for each part. Thanks for watching!
@@thoughtbombdesign By using metric, it will be waaay less prone to conversion errors... if a material is too thick... remove some of it...

@@thoughtbombdesign Have you tried sourcing the shafts from China or Europe?? you could probably get decent shafts for like 20 bucks...
No I haven't. I'll definitely expand my shopping area when I get to the shafts though. 👍
