I found a seller on Etsy with prices much lower than Amazon. They also sell the extra spindles and bases. I am curious what purpose the base disk serves and why I might need more than 1? Is it a weight to help stabilize the Jeanie? They show a video where the base is removed, as well as the yarn on the spindle, and the spindle is placed on the base. Then another spindle with yarn is hung from the Jeanie. I was hoping for some explanation of these different components that might help me understand if I need more than what just comes with the package. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!
Hello! I think the disc just serves for the spindle to sit on while you are not using it. I don’t know why you would need more than one. Possibly if you were to buy more spindles, you could set them on the base if you didn’t want to exchange out your yarns on one spindle. I hope this helps. I live in Texas and right now it is too dang hot for working on big crochet projects, but I am looking forward to cooler weather and a lapful of crochet (and dogs!)
