Outside of it being a genuinely good service, one of my favourite things about V-line is just the sheer variety of Locos, DMUs and carriages it uses, even in 2022 its has a very varied fleet.
There's still plenty of variety but that's slowly diminishing as more Vlos come on line. And as you say the frequency is still pretty good overall as well. We are pretty lucky over here
@@Schony747 Give it a decade and vline will see more variety again as more stuff gets added to the fleet, however I think the standard gauge vlos are the final nail in the coffin for loco hauled service.
Structurally apparently they need a bit of work and with surplus locos I suppose they are not required. I think it would be great to see them running around in some form. Fortunately A60 and A62 head into preservation
This video is so amazing. I keep watching it over again I just love how straight you are with the camera, I liked how u zoomed in when the train was shunting. How did you get over to the yard. I check your channel everyday of the week for videos Could you do a little favour for me and watch some of my videos Cheers Sam
@@Schony747 When did the N class carriages actually stop running on the ballarat line? Because i never knew that they ran the ballarat line for that long.
they do still run n class locos on ballarat line from, city to bacchus marsh and bacchus marsh to city, in the morning they run 2 trains from marsh to city 7:30am and 8:08am and in the afternoon 3 trains city to marsh 5pm, 5:33pm and 6:12pm (that’s when they leave melton, not sure when they leave city, for the afternoon trains) unfortunately they only run these services on weekdays but there are less and less loco hauled services in vline services thing but yea
Just gone back and had a look at this. Love the streamliner trains.
Nice one. Living in Ballarat, I don't often get to see this opint of view. Thanks
Nice to look back at Bacchus Marsh Station and when there used to be a lot more variety there.
Yes they were good times back then. Even in the 80s they would run anything Bacchus Marsh including the C Class
Awesome trains and amazing footage
Thanks. Sorry it took so long to reply!

A62 is actually hauling a train from 707ops to Seymour this Saturday (1/7/23)
Going to the Hanson Quarry at Kilmore East. It's going to be great.
I wish they would rebuild and rebuild the A and always use the GM cab ends there timeless

Not as nice as the A Class as it's notchng up but still pretty good.

When N class carriages ran on the Ballarat line
I still have photos from around 1995. As sprinters were introduced, the decline of loco hauled on the Ballarat line started.

@@rzyshk I meant the carriages not the locomotive
@@IndianSuperman-gy4ps ohh my bad, they ran n carriages?
Why were the locomotives stabled in Bacchus Marsh??
All diesel loco hauled services run during the am and PM peak. They stable overnight at Bacchus Marsh including weekends.
Thanks for the reply but why did they not continue through to ballarat and stable there?
Btw - blogged about the video also: wp.me/p47pPY-io
