Chicagoland Rails 2024 Edition! Amtrak And Metra Commuters in Downtown Chicago

From Wednesday, May 8th to Sunday, May 12th, 2024, a few friends and I spent a few days exploring the Chicagoland area railroads to celebrate our college graduations from our respective universities.
If one is to get the true Chicagoland railroading experience, watching the downtown passenger action between Amtrak and Metra is a must and that is exactly what we will see in this video. From Friday, 5/10 to Saturday, 5/11, we made two trips into the city. Friday was for the evening rush hour which did not disappoint, we split our time up between the Western Ave Metra station along with North Racine Ave (CP Morgan). The next day we went to the over under at North Clinton Street where the tracks for Metra’s OgilvieTransportation Center are above those coming out of Union Station. After that, to end it off, we went to the Roosevelt Road bridge to see some more Amtrak and Metra action before leaving the city for our last major stop of the trip.
