Ive been driving my Sandero comfort Bi-Fuel for 2 weeks now. It's 100bhp and during the fuel panic buying it was brilliant as I run it mainly on LPG Which was still available at 57p a litre. It was £400 more for Bi fuel.
Before buying the Dacia I test drove a 1 year old Clio Iconic.
The Sandero was by far the best car to drive and I absolutely love it. It's really nippy and looks great.
I have Sat Nav too as I ordered the car before the micro chip shortage.

I'm a Sandero Comfort owner since September and I can't be happier with this car! I took all extras except the navigation. It is a destroyer! Easy to drive, amazingly powerful, cheaper to refill thanks to GPL, extremely easy to park thanks to the back camera and sensors... The definition of value for money. Seriously, don't go spending 25000€ buying an Ibiza, a Tipo or something like that having this car available.

got the dacia brand new last september, love it! i didnt want a car with all the electronic driver aids to go wrong, plus i want to be in control! been driving 28 years, 19 cars, this is the most comfy ive had, drives and looks great, less electrics to go wrong over other cars, still petrol! not going electric! hopefully the last car ill ever buy. plus mines an auto, and that phone holder is actually great!
didnt want fords or vws like everyone else, neither did i want a fiesta or focus that theives seem to love, so my choice was a no brainer!

The NCAP ratings are getting too complex - e.g. I have lane keep assist on my Land Rover - its a pain in the @rse and I usually turn it off. I dont think it contributes much to safety..... I looked at both these cars a couple of days ago, in the showroom at Hendy’s. I didn’t like either of them. Both felt cramped and the deep lip on the boot on both cars would make it impossible for me to lift a heavy box or a large, heavy carrier bag, out of the boot. I see no need for 6 gears on such a small car. Like someone else here has commented, if you need Lane Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition, you shouldn’t be driving at all, because you obviously have insufficient awareness of what’s happening on the road around you. For me, the real deal breaker, is that deep, deep boot lip.

Really tough choice tbh. Really like the Clio's looks and to my eyes it's interior is better. I would probably have come down on the side of the Dacia with its new car warranty but seeing as the Clio has a longer warranty to start with, that advantage has gone too! I guess it all comes down to whether or not you want a car that's never been owned by anyone else rather than a used one. I believe the Dacia suffers less depreciation too? Tough choice and in all honesty I think I'd be happy with either!

All in all, I'd take the Clio. It's better looking and seems more desirable overall. Still, 98hp? In America, you'd get trounced over on our roads. Most people drive over 80mph or more on stretches of road with 65mph speed limits. I have a GTI and even I get passed by like I'm standing still. Both cars in this review offer quite a value for any buyer on a budget. Another great review and comparison.

In most states, cities are very far apart and using high-speed freeways is all too common as a necessity. It's not the speeds that are an issue for me, it's the manner in which they are driven without courtesy and/or appropriate respect for safety. The US is a great place to live and more diverse than some of its' European counterparts in many ways. As we could learn a lot from the developed nations overseas, they too can learn a lot from us too. Tesla was born and developed here as was the microchip revolution. The dacia has bi fuel 100hp which is better it terms of economy. You can also upgrade the antenna from bee stinger to shark fin and the speakers system with premium system. There are also more options of you pay little more. The wheels also can be upgraded from 15 inch up to 17 or 18 inch with low profile tyres. You can faully load the Sandero with options and still get it. Cheaper than a Renault clio.

    Some reactions.
    1. Surely the distraction is the stupid infotainment system, not the far more useful phone holder (along with the phone). And why would anyone opt for the in-car navigation system over e.g. google maps? Essentially, I want two things - a radio and bluetooth/aux (so that I can stream music from the phone to the speakers). The rest of the infotainment system is a complete waste of resources.
    2. As for the Euro NCAP. I don't care for systems that unnecessarily supervise me and bleeps at me as if I don't know how to drive. Lane keep-"assist" fights me and is dangerous and sign recognition-systems are quite often incorrect with their recognition. Any driver should be more than capable dealing with these two aspects when driving and if not, then they shouldn't be allowed to drive! Any competent driver adopts to the driving conditions, avoiding dangerous situations. So as long as the car is safe in an impact then two stars is perfectly fine.
    3. I always miss commentary about long-term reliability and the ease to deal with eventual issues in these sorts of reviews.

Great if you want to transport furniture, but that deep load lip stops shopping falling on the floor, having you bending up and down picking it up, and looking like a tw@. Nit to mention the pain in the butt when some rolls under the car.

Had a Clio as a courtesy car whilst our Zoe was in the dealers for service. Hated it !! But had a look in a new dacia in the showroom, and was surprised at how good it looked. Its no longer a budget car, since 11k is still a lot of money, but its still good value in today's world. However, drive a 40kw Zoe, and realise that motoring from that point on is very very cheap, and you wouldn't buy either of these 😀

How much is Zoe? With these electrics you pay 17k for small electric car, where you can get small petrol car for 10k, and get 7k to spend on fuel... In how many years? Assume at least 3-4, so probably duration of average car ownership. And with petrol you get range and ability to recharge in 40 seconds. So how does electric make sense again?

    • @mohmans4751

How much milage do you get when fully charged? Try driving on motorway at 70mph with air conditioning on when the temperature is between 0 and 5 celcius. You won't male 100 miles without stopping to recharge your batteries guaranteed. The bi fuel 100hp sandero has 800 miles range with full tanks combined.
