What a pain. Stick with plastic caps!!!
Had to cut the seized cap off with a dremel very carefully. Aluminum caps will corrode onto your valve stems and are almost impossible to get off.
My advice-stick with cheap plastic valve stem caps!
Happened to me also, used a dremal to get mine of also. I bought some aluminum lined with plastic to replace my aluminum ones.
I’ve been looking for something that’s lined with plastic but couldn’t find any. Can you send the link?
Learned this the hard way unfortunately 😢
What a pain! Thanks for the heads up.
if you put some heat on it from a lighter or small cigar torch for about 30 seconds it'll screw right off.
This is the correct answer. Just did it and 15 seconds with a crack torch worked perfect
Never had to do this , 3years old still come over as if they were new
It is very likely all the heat by friction made the metal expand and that's how you were able to remove the cap. A lighter may have done the same trick
Put some copper grease on them before you put them on !!
Have to try that. Thanks for the tip.
@@paul_t_kendall go with lithium grease.. copper doesn't react good with aluminum
