Church hurt is a huge problem. True followers of Christ would welcome anyone into church. Even without being part of a church or a believer in Christ, God loves you. He created you in his image and sacrificed his son so he could have a relationship with you. I hope that God leads you down the right path. Best of luck in life and thanks for the amazing music
Hey I love your band! As a Christian, I'm so sorry to hear about this experience. I have also experienced brokenness in church. All the more why we need the forgiveness of our Lord Jesus. We are all broken, including me, and it is so sad to see the people who are supposed to be loving, as Jesus called us to be, are instead so hateful towards others. Even though I don't agree with certain lifestyles, the only thing that separates us from God in hell is our sin. If we ask Jesus for forgiveness and admit his Lordship of our lives, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. I pray you will one day know the peace and forgiveness Jesus offers.
love this response as a fellow brother in christ. Couldn't have said it any better myself! Dayseeker is one of my favorite bands and I deeply empathize with the stories and pain that rory and the boys write about.
As a pastor, I think this song is so dope! It’s an honest expression of/for people who have, unfortunately, been judged, hate, and harshly treated by so called “christians” and prideful religious leaders. And I speak as someone who has been majorly judged and, at times, still rejected by religious “christians”. Jesus Himself said to Love God and Love People...unfortunately there is a major lack of LOVE in the church today. I appreciate the vulnerability, honesty and accountability in this song.
I completely agree. You can still love someone without agreeing with their ideas or beliefs. Being judgemental is not our place and being harsh is the exact opposite of expressing love.
I’m a Christian and the first time I heard this song I cried. I could like feel the pain of being rejected by people so much that you and feel like God rejected you too but the truth is he loves us more than anyone ever will
Any institution that has a structure of power and responsibility will experience human imperfections such as abuse of power, pride. No one church is perfect and no one person is flawless. I have so many dear friends that have been pushed away from church because of what they see and hear. Don't look to the flaws of these people for your religion look to the ideals themselves. I pray that you find what you're looking for friend. Keep making the best music
Same. When I was younger, my dad was worship director/bassist/drummer and my step mom was lead vocals. And also lead a marriage small group. Well they ended up getting a divorce and everyone from the church alienated me and my dad. “Church friends” would tell their kids they can come over or vise verse. We eventually just left and it’s always put a nasty taste in my mouth about churches being so judgmental and also, serving in the church you see a lot of back stabbing and very political. (Not talking about government lol) just how it’s ran.
I feel like a lot of Christians just give us a bad name. We’re literally taught to love everyone unconditionally. Shame that some people don’t get that
The greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in. - Matthew 23:11-13
Want to apologize on behalf of other Christians who decided to make many of you feel small to have some sense of self righteousness. Jesus preached against this but their pride clouded their judgement
This is so inspiring man. I work at a church and I couldn’t agree more with what you’re describing. God is so much more than the stupid church culture that we bring into things. We need so much more love
Any chance you’ve heard “Playing God” by Paramore? They also have a line that says “is must be lonely being so holy” or something similar. Both are great songs but this one I prefer :)
Its sad how the people that hold themselves so high, put down people of other cultures, religions, sexual orientations so frequently. The biggest blight to have ever savaged this world is religion............................I hope in the future my grandchildrens children can look back in amusement and wonder why so many people believed in something without fact, only fiction and faith.
Sorry you had a bad experience with Christians. It's painful to know that people of church can be so hateful and "Act" so high and mighty. Christians are supposed to be all loving and accepting of others regardless. Wish the best for you all! 🥰
very shameful that all the christians just want to defend their name and say "not all christians are like that!!" but who am I to talk.. I was only in a religious cult for 18 years I don't know anything

As an ex-worship guitarist, i can totally relate to this song, especially when my own worship leader did my family dirty.

My guy cried out to God in their first album. I became an instant fan with that. Either way I'm a fan and hope the best for these guys.

I could talk to you for hours about the true nature of all things. My middle name is Rory by the way. It's an awesome name. Very rare.

Imo, even if none of it is real, religion has the power to inspire kindness and hope for a lot of people
@@nerdyoutube7847 but it also has the power to inspire the opposite, and bring out the worst in people
@@myauramusic Thus is the duality of life. Without the dark, we’d not know the light. It is necessary to hurt, to know what joy is.

@RORY pick up a bible man, the answers are there. i promise
"It's not like I'm an atheist or something"
That sentence right there says a lot of why you would say it like that.
