I have learned a great deal from your tutorials. Thank you so much for posting them. Do you happen to have anything that teaches how to create a bevel on a hole, or something similar? I haven't been using SW very long and am struggling to get a bevel on a hole in the side of a pipe. I tried chamfer but it doesn't quite do what I want. Thank you!
I'm probably very late, but to create the effect you want, you can extrude cut the bigger diameter (bevel), but instead of selecting through, you input the desired depth of the bevel. Inside that hole you extrude cut the actual hole that goes through the pipe wall.
thank you for the helpful tutorial. but when I select a part and want to add or select a particular colour or material, it simply adds to the whole of object? is it some kind of default sittings? I wanted to add thread to the screw and it threads the dome too :)
at 12:10 there's a .25 dimension on the left-hand side. When I do it the dimension is fixed in the middle and veritcal between the two leader arrows. I've played with the settings forever. How do you get it to fall down and read horizontally?
In video 6:30, I am not able to do the smart dimension that doubles the length (pre-emptive diameter) in my 2018 solidworks. Does this feature work only in 2020 version?
Hello. Is there a solid works certification that one can get after your lessons? What are the costs of the certificate in the case that one has gone through all your classes and done all relevant exercises from your course material? Can the certification be used for jobs or employment? All follow up questions are based on if there’s certification. Kindly do inform I’ll appreciate cause I have been doing your classes and I can’t imagine how much I have learned in a span of a month. I think it warrants some credentials seeing that you are doing a good job even if it comes at a cost.
When I worked as a Model Maker/Machinist in the shop we used a product called SolidView and were given access to the 3D files (rarely had drawings). We could easily measure any feature with a simple click, and could print out custom views with dimensions we added. This was back in the Mid-nineties (1994). I can only imagine how much easier it is now.
As explained in the first video of this series, Mr. Sikora has worked in SolidWorks for 23 years and the web site is his own. The materials are his, with contributions by some of his students.

Sooraj, it's been in the software since the 1990's. One of the lines must be a centerline for it to work.
