He's not really retiring, he's taking a break from live acts. In a vice interview he said that in a few years he'll do gigs here and there, depending on whether he can take his family with him or not. But he probably won't do any big tours for a long time.

I already did...
It was one of the best moments of my life. Been listening for soooooo long! Me and my best friend made the trip to catch him on his last tour and it was perfect.
I went to the Chicago show on that tour and got to meet him in person he was really nice and asked how I was doing. He let me take a few selfies with him and I thanked him for what he does and gave me a big goofy smile!

I had given you a giant buzz lightyear (toy story) necklace. It was at a club called Tilt, I doubt you remember it but I know I’ll never forget it and all the help you have done for me through your music.

I never got to go see you live, I never got to go to Neko Nation. So I just sit in my room, in quarantine, wishing I was at a rave, and that one day, these good days may return... I only wish.
I missed out on so much, I never got the memories that others have, and I wish I did. I'm sad but hopefully, I'll be able to enjoy these things too, in some form.
