ABSOLUTELY agree with your take on cultural appropriation!! I love your open-minded approach to a lot of the topics you speak about. I feel as if many people nowadays look at things too objectively whereas I don't feel that watching your videos :) I often find myself immersed in what you have to say even during the videos on topics I dont give much thought about !

Philosophize This, and the Theory Of Everything are two amazing pieces of media. I'm really into determinism right now, and how it differs on a macro universal scale, as supposed to a micro quantum scale. I really like how the theme of time was intertwined with the motor disease catching up to Hawking. Eddie Redmayn was the perfect part for the role.

cultural appropriation is made out to be this terrible thing with a lot of weight on society, and i wouldnt argue the fact that it certainly IS an issue in many cases.
however, i feel that the negative impacts of cultural appropriation are blown far out of proportion because its more of a surface level issue that touches resentment by people of disadvantaged backgrounds for having been harassed/made fun of on the basis of ethnicity/traditions/customs in childhood and throughout their whole lives and of the generations before them.
the true issue of cultural appropriation is psychological, while the perception of the issue is simply visual, and so things get taken out of context as to the motivation/perspective/knowledge of the offending parties.
for the most part, all you can understand is what you see in front of you, so the person who is representing themselves with the piece from the other culture might be doing so out of respect/admiration/appreciation, but people who view this person might end up thinking, wow they are so disrespectful and dont care about the feelings of the people of the culture that they are identifying with for the moment.
sorry for runoff sentences but i just agree with your opinion a lot and i think people need to understand this point of view for us to mend some of the conflicts amongst us
as someone who hails from southern ontario it’s pretty cool that somebody from places i know is big and famous. respects to you and you’ll always have a supporter in me

dude i screamed out loud when you said you liked consolations of philosophy. you should check out confessions by St augustine. honestly one of the best books i’ve ever read. he speaks on the nature of good and morality and how to cope with the struggles of life and mistakes. we share a lot of similar interests when it comes to philosophy i think it’s really cool and you’ve kinda inspired me to start making philosophical content on youtube!!

About death and the general topic of the last question, anyone interested should read The Denial of Death, by Ernest Becker. It's an amazing book that goes deep into how people and society as a whole face the idea of our inevitable end. I've been fairly interested in the topic since my late grandpa got sick, and none other book that I've read can hold a candle to this one. Other suggestions are Meditations, by Marcus Aurelius; Myth of Sisyphus, by Albert Camus; On The Brevity of Life, by Seneca.
