      @@BUTTER-oc5gs y'all are both wrong lmao, Beyonce is a world class vocalist, dont denigrate someone's commitment to their art to uplift another. But no, she's also not the new Whitney, Whitney had something special that just isn't replicable, her voice was a fingerprint that we just won't see again, that woman left her mark on the world and countless souls within it, she didnt have a gift, she *was* a gift

She’s incredibly talented that she captivates her audience to her repertoire of songs and when she sings a song over again it’s always a different story, tune and feeling that as if she owns it, no one else. Late 90s Whitney is my favorite era for her (unpopular opinion I'm sure) because her voice still had so much power, range and clairty (even if a little was already lost) but it was also so FULL and mature sounding. Incredible.

    David Foster said Whitney would sing a song so much better than he intended it. When he would have Celine Dion perform she would sing it exactly how he told her to sing. This is difference with Whitney. She preformed straight from her soul. She doesnt just sing. She magnifies the meaning of the lyrics.

    Man, Whitney attacked this song with the ferocity of a lioness. Her vocal’s truly were raw and she puts so much emotion into the lyrics of this beautiful song. She was killing it vocally and judging by the wimpy applause, that audience was not worthy of her presence in front of that mic..she deserved a thunderous applause because she crushed this performance entirely in the 5 plus minutes that it took her to wrap up the ending, seriously.

    Now overall I tend to listen to Mariah more because I overall prefer her song writing, production and technician-approach to vocals. But to me Whitney demonstrates something that Mariah never had even in her prime (for me anyway), a sense that she could enter another soulful state wherein she embodies the lyrics. Whitney gave pure visceral energy here. Never replicated

      @@michaelpatrick7888both were technically gifted and excelled in just about everything they did vocally, inside and outside their primes. They’ve even shocked masters of other genres, like opera for Whitney for example, while just playing around. Whitney was in vocal lessons since childhood because of church, and Mariah picked up what she could from listening in on her mother’s vocal lessons because she was a vocal coach but wouldn’t teach Mariah. Both have consistently shown capabilities that only masters, and not all of them, could do. They both studied and performed multiple genres and Whitney’s death had nothing to do with “wasting” her gift, which she didn’t do.
      With all due respect, you have no idea what you’re talking about.

    • @krazyboi42
      @krazyboi42 Рік тому +20

      @@michaelpatrick7888and if you doubt the validity of Whitney’s musical upbringing, old church music is in line with opera in terms technical difficulty. You can’t not know music, or not be well trained and practiced, and still sound good singing it. It demanded proficiency and Whitney was quoted saying that if she didn’t sound as good as the adults, she was back rehearsing and in lessons
