I've started watching your video's again and is totally enjoying it. I'm a crafter and have always loved beautiful lace, but could never master the tension for tread crochet. But I'm able to do Tatting. Thank you do sharing this beautiful art. Aloha, Danny
Thank you so much! Love the way you explain the project, I'm a beginner I done a few peces, one of them a total disaster! My first Dolly is all waves, I guess I close the chains to tight. And some of the rings too, so I need to learn tension. Please continue sharing your knowledge. This is a. Beautiful art that needs to keep on for many more years to come. Hugs from Texas.
+Areli Avendano Thank you for watching. Sometimes when you get waves in a doily it could be both tension and picot sizes. Try to keep your joining picots especially even throughout. If it still seems to be wavey looking try making smaller picots. That will tighten it up. Decorative picots don't really change the pattern as far as causing it to draw up and make waves it usually is in the joining picots. If it pulls tight then you need larger joining picots. I hope that helps you out on that problem. Happy Tatting
Hi Dan and thank you for watching. I also make the videos for Georgia Seitz online tatting classes. there is more knowledge to be had. Enjoy and happy tatting
Love your videos!! I got a little confused bc you reversed the work after the first ring before the chain but I did not see you reverse it after the chain going into the second ring. Sorry if I missed that. Thank you again.
So basically what you are saying with the front side - back side tatting, the only place you do the reverse stitches (second part first, then first part second) is when you do the chains. You just do the rings regular?
Hi, your videos are brain candy for me. I am a blind lacemaker and have been hit by the tatting bug. You explain everything else the other vids and tutorials don't. Do you have a website? Are you on the intatters forum? I've joined the online tatting class. You've inspired me to go after a bigger shuttle as I hate finishing work and rewinding thread. Keep doing this. Your descriptions are good enough for a totally blind tatter to follow with minimal sighted help to get the threads in the right spot. I'm going to give Cynthia Stevens method for split rings a try. Happy fall, and tatting. Oh, I'm ablindgibsongirl on intatters and the online tatting class.
ablindgibsongirl I used to be in Intatters but since it has changed to craftree haven't been doing much with it. I don't currently have a web site. My wonderful Husband handles all the computer stuff and he is working on that too for me. With fall here hopefully alot can be accomplished on my tatting endeavors. Look for me in class. I go by the name candyoz (Tamie). In November I will be teaching the class for Cyn. She has some things she needs to take care of and has asked me to guess teach. I have done that a few times for her and I love it. She is my co-conspirator on the video channel. She comes up with things she wants a video for and I just do it for her. She is the one that taught me. So I will see you in class on Thursday. I am always there for the afternoon class and most times for the night class. So I am sure I will see you then, Happy Tatting
Hello dear. You rock lady and I love your tutorials so much. I'm fairly new and I don't have many resources to learn tatting where I come from (saudi arabia) so I do have some difficulty learning. I have a question that's been puzzling me when I begin to tat a motif. If a motif requires 2 shuttles to begin with or a shuttle and a ball of thread and doesn't tell if I should tie them at the beginning or use CTM, then what should I use? Is there a difference between them? Does it matter if I tie or used CTM? Thank you so much for your videos they're really helping and I hope you continue making'em ♡♡
CTM saves from having to hide you ends. Either way is fine as long as your comfortable with whichever you prefer. If a pattern does not call for CTM it doesn't matter which way you do it. Most patterns will say to either tie ends or use CTM. The older patterns leave it to your discretion. Hope that helps. Thank you for you comments. I am so happy my videos are helping you. I will be doing up some new videos soon. So keep watch for them. With summer it is hard to find time to much of anything. Fall is coming soon so I will be updating regularly then. Happy Tatting. :)

How do you know ahead of time when to do front side back side

+Gemini Dolly You are correct in your thinking. Way to go!!!!. Happy Tatting
