- 7 Action Man adverts from the 90's. Found these scattered throughout old random advert breaks that were uploaded to UA-cam. They were a pain to find, so we decided it would be a good idea to whack all the ones we found into one big video. There were plenty we couldn't yet get a hold of, so if you find anymore anywhere please let me know so we can add them to the collection.
Painstaking video finding effort courtesy of Sam McCulloch.
The audio is slightly buggered in places, but it's all audible.
Hope this brings back some memories! 8)
My Dad used to direct the action man spots. I remember being an extra in one as a kid running out of the way of a toy car, lol
That's a level of cool you just never understand til you're older. It's crazy to think how much action man and max steel were around the same time and we're almost the same premise just some guy running around the world doing cool shit 🤣
I think your dad made me gay lol
You luckysunovaB I envy you.
dr x is the most complex character i have ever seen
Like when he said
hehehehehehhehe
Not many evil, PHD-qualified supervillains with an entire nation's GDP at his disposal would take the time to break a few vases, there's gotta be some complexity behind him.
Sansa Stark - she's the smartest person I've ever met
Dr. X - he's the most complex character I've ever seen
''ACTION MAN ACTION BUY HERO ACTION MAN AARGH MAN HERO OF THEM ALL ACTION HERO MAN!''
I'm sold.
After hearing these adverts a few thousand times on evenings after school they all blend together, still better than those cheesy dolly adverts.
Growing up in Romania we could never afford these toys, but when McDonald's eventually had a Happy Meal Action Man lineup I finally got a parachute Action Man from a meal. I still remember climbing on my grandpa's garage to launch him repeteadly. Oh man, those were some good times!
Being from the Netherlands I had a full collection of like 15+ action man's plus the cars/motorcycles, I even had the real parachute one.. I also remember throwing it off a roof with my grandpa lol. I feel like I was spoiled in my childhood.
@@VonDutchNLDamn you‘re mean 😂
That’s awesome that you got to get one👍
These commercials are so ridiculously awesome, the guy who played Dr. X deserves an Oscar
I just ordered a couple of 90s Action Men from EBay. I'm going to play hell outta them.
I'm 23.
James Kurker yeah im to for my Sisters son too
James Kurker nice! I have a few vintage action men as well, I used to collect all the newer ones when I was a bit younger I still have them
Lol which ones did you buy? I ordered '96 Dr. X and 97' Gangrene myself and can't wait for them to arrive. Not sure if unpacking them is a good idea, though; they're worth quite a bit unopened
They are good collector items right now. Those was really expensive back then as new.
I am from. Switzerland and had many actionman figures as a child I was born in 89
You gotta give Dr X credit, he kept trying.
Speaking of which, did he even get a degree in college? Why is he a Dr?
In the 2000s series it is implied that Doctor X does have a doctorate, he still commits dumb mistakes for a guy that is supposed to be smart, though.
Dude, this is the second comment in which you mock Dr. X. Are you on a grudge mission against him, or what?
Remember that villains are people with feelings too
@@lindgrenland Haha, I made those two comments 4 years apart. I have fond memories of Action Man as a kid, but it's fun to question the logic behind it when you're an adult.
@@Sh0tgunJust1ce haha that's awesome
Sometimes I'm about to comment something on a video, and I notice I already did years ago - and the same exact thing I was about to write
@@lindgrenland I have a slightly similar experience. Maybe youve had it too. I watch a video I like, and someone in the comment section says something brilliant that I whole-heartedly agree with, and then I realize it was written by me :S.
You are never too old for action man.
Damn, Action Man is so cool, he always kicked Dr. X's evil butt :D
But y'gotta admit, Dr. X really kept trying, you ought to give him credit for being so persistent :D
0:23 Paparazzi man, Taking pictures of them all!
DrowningArt94 Showing Dr. X dick pics
Action Man was my childhood.
I had a good amount of action man when I was younger. I loved it. I miss my childhood so much
same here bro.
I love the Cheesy punchlines when Dr X is defeated! "Get a Kick out of that X", "Get the Point" or "Evil is a One way street. Need a lift X?" Lol.
Some from Finland: "Can you dig it, X?" "got tired x?" cool it X
The cheese factor is one of the best things about all of this. Anything with a protagonist called “Action Man” fighting a villain named “Doctor X” has an inherent cheese factor that must be embraced
actionman the greatest hero of them all
These where so goddamn awesome back when I was a kid. I had the Roller eXtreme one. He either had a glow in the dark jacket or I actually had two. Regardless, Action Man was awesome.
The ones nowadays are very trash, there's not much articulation, the arms are very short, not much accessories, the old vintage ones were the best.
I always wanted an Action Man so that he could be my Barbie's boyfriend, haha.
Technically, I did that for you years ago. I had a Barbie and LOTS of Action Men.....and yes....they shagged...as best as they could without the right anatomy.
@@innerguardianXIII LOL :D in real life, could Barbie and Action Man live together? I mean, how would poor Barbie handle that Action Man has to leave her every time Dr. X does something evil?
What about poor Ken? :( Is he just her gay best friend now? lol.
@@Phippsta We all know Ken isn't straight.
@@TheLambdaTeam Barbie would have Max Steel as her side dude lol
One of my favorite adverts was the X-Army one, I think that's how it was called. Supposedly, after Dr. X's death, an army of robots modelled after him rose. I remember that, at the beginning of the advert, behind the robot army, in the clouds, we could see Dr. X's head, laughing, as if taunting Action Man from the great beyond.
Oh man, theses toys ruled my childhood.
I had all of these action men sets, they were amazing!!
Recipe for Action Man commercial:
ACTION MAN, ACTION!
Doctor X (something)!
But Action man (something else)!
- ACTION MAN THE GREATEST HERO OF THEM ALL -
(cheesy punchline) X!
You forgot Dr X screaming "AAAAARRRRRRGHHHHHHH!" when he got defeated by Action Man
Still better Script, Cut and Acting than the new Ghostbusters
Nowadays kids get ipads and shit..
+Nyx its sad,ikr
Yes kids aren't kids anymore. It's a shit sad world/generation we live in
+Nyx I would trade every single Action man doll in my arsenal for that technology. Just saying.
At least a it’s less plastic I guess
@@charliediamond6197 True...
Dr X at the start of every video: Hahahaha!
But here comes Action Man!
Dr X:Aaaaarghh!
That's nostalgic, I owned 3 of these toys when I was a little boy.
I owned them all
ah happy memories shame they dont make awesome commercials for figures like this any more
Shame they stopped making them in 2006.
Why though?
kids stopped playing with toys@@netherfreakultima4498
Oh man I totally remember these toys, the bungee jump Action was my favourite, I used to make him fly in on wires all over my room, ace memories
The camera man used to go everywhere with me! I even took pictures of my mums wedding day which came out really well.
i remember this advert, i had the figure and i do wonder...where the hell has Action Man gone? The only place you can find his figures are at Car Boot sales.
The ones nowadays are very trash, there's not much articulation, the arms are very short, not much accessories, the old vintage ones were the best.
Boys don't play with figures like Action Man anymore. It's mostly a pre-early 2000s thing. These days they got smartphones, videogames, etc.
They discontinued them
From the thumbnail, i thought that was Kaneda from Akira and i was like WTF??
Is there anything more 90s than defeating a villain by extreme rollerblading?
they were amazing figures
wow my entire childhood!!!!!!!!!!!! im sick of nowadays kids full of ipads...
thanks for bringing back some old memories.. :'')
I had ninja in black suit with spinning hand and police man with dog! Still have them though....one I bought in France in 1997 the other in Greece in 1999!
The policeman with the dog; IIRC he had a switch you could pull down on his back that'd make him raise his pistol into a firing position?
+Bumbling Brit no, I guess it was different one. mine was just the guy with barking dog.... and bulletproof west....
Oh god, the nostalgia!
I remember when Action Man had its own website. I used to check it so often for flash games and stuff.
*Dag-nabbit, I wish I had Action Man action figures, and I'm 31 now :PPPP*
*Still, someone HAS to stop the evil Doctor X!*
I had the Jeep, a chopper and a rubber dingy with outboard engine, also had the scuba diver, he was fully possible. Good times. As I got older we used the Jeep and sat on it to go down my driveway, it lasted for years!!
I remember these but I was born in 2004 in Belgium like damn
An action man is the greatest hero of them all as action speaks louder than words
jesus god! i remember all these adverts from the tv! i also had some of the toys!
When I was a little kid i wanted an action man sooo bad. So, this one time for Christmas they got me a Dr.X. Sad day.
When I was a kid, I always wanted Dr. X but I only had one, but i csan't be sad, because I had lot of action man. Also, i had Flynt, and Tempest.
Lmao your parents did you dirty
What is Dr. X's degree in?
Came here because I wanted to know what the jingle actually said since I didn't know English when I was a kid. I always heard "Action Man, for zero hero demand" but I guess all this time he was really the greatest hero of them all
I had 1 or 2 of the first action men as a kid and I remember the adverts for all but the submarine and gyro copter
I miss this collection 😢
God bless the 90s.
I had the parachute one 😂 I chucked him out the window, and it worked! 😁
I used to have the parachute Action Man. Used to love throwing that out the window haha.
I like DrX... 😂 Looks like a NFL Raider Fan!!!😂😂😂
HO----LY------------SHIT!
This is so fuckin' awesome! It made my childhood. Every time i got one of there guys it was like christmas and birthday together! I remember these experiences very well. The children today are too much filled with TV, electronic toys and stuff. Back in the days it was just imagination and it was AWESOME!
Robbie Williams lookalike picks on a scientist
Me & a Friend of Mine used to get Berries growing from Thorn Branches & smash the faces into them, it was hilarious because it made it look like Action Man was cut up & bleeding
I've still got my Action Men and I'm 30 :) Also have an oldschool G.I Joe figure. LOL it cracks me up how Action Man uses roller blades to defeat Dr X LMAO! Like, of all the accessories and vehicles he has access to, ROLLER BLADES?! REALLY!?! LOL XD
ACTION MAN THE GREATEST HERO OF THEM ALL
I think Action Man should have his own full movie
I miss Action Man... He was my and my Barbie's dream man when I was 5...
Always wanted one when I was a kid...I finally got one had it for a few days and then my friend knocked him off a wall and landed on the ground and broke xD
Still hilarious now! 😂
They shure knew how to advertise stuff back then.
"This toy is so awesome!! YOU MUST HAVE IT!!! AAARGH!!"
Whoever disliked this obviously never owned an Action Man
AARRRHHGG!
- Famous words of Dr X
I had all these miss the 90s
i am 16 old and i love this cartoon still :D
Where did Dr. X get his PhD?
The Evil Academy of course!
ACTION MAN THE GREAT HERO OF THEM ALL
Wow great moments! I got skate Action man when I was child.
We didn't have action man in the states...I feel like I've been ripped off. 😭
Aw man I had that exact submarine set, lost all my Action Man stuff years ago though 😞
i also love how every end lines are 'csi miami' quotes
i use to own three action man figures when i was a kid, one swim mission, one jungle mission and one winter ski mission, some lame and yet, still good times.
Action Man and Arnold Schwarzenegger were my father figures and role models growing up and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
More wholesome then "battlefield casualties"
@PlayMadness max steel? when were you born 2001?
I was a tom boy as a child and had loads of Action Men lmao. I'm 20 years old now.. do they even make Action Man anymore?
Yes they do, but The ones nowadays are very trash, there's not much articulation, the arms are very short, not much accessories, the old vintage ones were the best. EBay is the best to get em.
makes me miss being a kid and all my old toys
somewhere out there was a young pewdiepie thinking all the accessories were life sized and suitable for kids 😂
Memories 😊😊😊
I miss him :-(
I'm 15, Action Man was my favorite action figure.
All the Americans saying GI Joe was cool but Action Man was my jam!
Wheres the one with the bike? That was my favorite.
How did AM franchise fade away ? I swear AM were everywhere I went for solid 10 year. I remember getting Dr. X Toys with Giant Flail and AM with a Moto Bike from Happy meals.
lol i used these when i had to play with my sister and her barbies.
Wow what a trip dwn memory lane when toys were toys not stairing at ipads for an entire day
i loved action man as a kid, but i loved the adverts on a saturday morning for it, used to love the actors who played actionman and dr x for the close up scenes, always made me laugh to see dr x get defeated it was soo funny lol im surorised they didnt make a action man movie
Action Man is awesome!
Ahh the memories! Has anyone seen the generals by appleflea - its a stop motion music video set during a nuclear attack starring action man, barbie and loads of other childhood favourites like postman pat and the teletubbies - so worth checking out :)
Thanks for uploading.
Well It kind of suprises me since "action man" is the most american action figure of all time. That might be why they chose an american accent
i have no clue why ive been thinking of ACTION MAN THE GREATEST HERO OF THEM ALL but i cant get it out of my head/
The puns are everything!
Memories!!!
Modern games and tech may be a factor but I also think maybe toys don’t sell as well as they used to because the commercials for them aren’t this fun and exciting anymore
You realize that you're getting old when you discover that kids today have no idea who Action man is!!
What's the good warzone for this?
create a time machine fast soon that nostalgia cant handle it..
Ahh we 90s kids had the best cartoons, toys and other shit that was awesome..... Dammmmmm
I still raging because my action man sky diver still doesn't glide 22 years later and still nothing
(Kappa)
Why can't Action Man just kill Dr. X, then he wouldn't need to perfect himself in karate, underwater missions and chopper driving... :D
Action Man action!!!! Dr. X escapes! But Action Man grabs his wonderful new Prism rifle! With powerful real life light!
- insert theme song here -
Boom! HEADSHOT! Dr. X got owned!
Action Man Prism rifle soldier action figure! It's so AWSUM, get yourz now!
