I'm in my 60's and in NO WAY embarrassed to say I was a fan of this kid since she was missing her front teeth.
One of the best things about this is that it's a demo she did, not an actual recording to be released.
Baby Fuzz actually gave the song to Angelina at 10 to demo it before he did his release...soooo she actually did it before him.
Baby Fuzz did not give her the song. He has publicly stated this. That he knew nothing about her demo. The most believable rumor out there is that two of the other songwriters approached Angies team and had her cut the demo and they produced it. Any rumors beyond that are pure speculation
@@jeffreyjameson5510 word is there was another version of the song by Baby Fuzz in you tube but was taken down and replaced by the one currently on there. It came after Angelina’s version was recorded. His original is said to be vastly different than the current version.
@@jdeang3531 who knows really? Except fuzz. Ronny. Aksel. IMO Fuzz must have had a demo that Angie listened to first just to get the basic feel for the phrasing for the lyrics. Then Angie worked her magic on it. And Ronny and Aksel did an outstanding job in post production. I think her version is a masterpiece that is Radio ready. Would love for her to revisit it.
What is sure is that in UA-cam dates, Angelina's version is older.

How she is able to arrange cover songs so they become her own is unreal for someone her age. So is her voice, her singing ability and the the way she conveys emotions that seem to be beyond her years. Prodigy is not too big a word in her case. She is truly exceptional.
This song , done so beautifully by Angelina should go in a book of music history as the very best song by a 10 year old singer ever sung. Better than Shirley Temple, or any one else in that age bracket.

This isn’t a cover. She made this as a demo before Baby Fuzz finally sang it. He heard this demo first, so actually he covered her demo! That’s the story I read.

I think you would enjoy hearing her sing, “You are always on my mind”. She dedicated the song to her Grandpa who recently died. Her presentation is so sincere, heartfelt and emotional.

A great thoughtful reaction to one of her best performances... I'm concerned that as you move on with you schedual you'll miss Every Time We Say Goodbye. It's a truly unique performance. On a rooftop in Oslo, singing with a guitar accompaniment she's saying goodbye to Oslo before she leaves on an extended trip later that day. It's a beautiful experience to listen to and watch. Even for Angelina, it's an exceptionally soft and emotional performance. She always had an ability to select just the right song for the moment.
It is believed by many that Angelina's mom didn't think it was appropriate
for her, at 10 years old, to release a song that refer's to a drowning suicide.
I believe it is among the best recordings she has ever done and would have
zoomed up the charts, had it been released. It is truly mind boggling when
you realize her age. I do hear a lot of the influence that Billie Holiday has had
on Angelina.
Angelina actually recorded this song before Baby Fuzz did.
You to hear her sing jazz at 12, try "I'm A Fool To Want You". I think even Billie Holiday would bow to her!

One small thing that gets me right off the bat on this one is the way she makes the same vowel sound on "my" and the "mo" in "tomorrow". I just love that.
Dad, to me this was your finest reaction to our barefoot princess. At the closing of the video you spoke about love. So many of us literally love Angelina and, in fact, many of us have never felt the kind of love she has touched our hearts with. The sound of her voice with it's soulfulness and always a hint of jazz make her so unique there is no one to compare her to even at 10 years old.
Funny story: Her family enrolled her in a special music class when she was very, very young. The class introduced the students to the technical aspects of arranging music, etc., and also to learn how to sing. The teachers wanted to speak to her family to tell them they can continue to teach Angelina about the technical aspects of music but it would be a waste of their time to teach her how to sing. They actually told her family Angelina could qualify as an instructor teaching students how to sing at such an early age.
Dad, I recently read a comment from one of her 'angels' , his name is Paul Adamson, and I'd like to share it with you. We had just listened to Angelina sing 'What a Difference a Day Makes' at 8 years old (you'd swear it was Dinah Washington singing!) and, as usual, all of us had a lot to say. Paul quoted Plato, the great philosopher: "Music is a moral law. It gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm of sadness, and life to everything. It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good, just and beautiful, of which it is the invisible, but nevertheless dazzling, passionate, and eternal forms." And then, Paul offered this comment: "I think Plato must have foreseen the coming of Angelina Jordan when he scribed these beautiful words."

She's not covering Baby Fuzz. He asked her to make a demo for his lyrics to this song and then he made a version covering her version covering his lyrics.

What she does with her vocals on different songs is the reason one of her fan nicknames is the "Angel with 1000 Voices." She uses the voice that is most appropriate for the song she is singing.

What a nice surprise to see you listening to Angelina again. Missed your soft-spoken, thoughtful comments on her. I have often thought of Angelina as a "vocal painter". Her various canvases, brushstrokes, textures, hues, etc. in a song form. I will let others list out some of her "benchmark" songs from when she was 11 and 12, "pre-America's Got Talent". I would only suggest you include at least one of her early original songs among them. These would include "Oslo", "What Is Life?", and "Shield". All three are from the ages around 11 and 12 I believe. Her other 2 originals (so far), are from ages 14-15, and include "Million Miles", and "7th Heaven". She did several live concerts this past summer in Norway that were outstanding. She is 17 now, and we are all crossing our fingers that her new album might be release this summer or fall. This demo was never meant to be released. Her parents made this decision owing to the topic of suicide in the song. We know that she was 10 when she sang this. The images on this fan made video indicate it wasn't leaked until she was 12.
If you really want to hear her lower register, she sang "How Great Thou Art" in the style of Elvis Presley.

❗️I’m Still Holding Out For You” is an Angelina Original at 10! Experts agree! An original, is any song which was not recorded by any artist before, it may be composed by the person singing it, or by someone else.
Baby FuzZ and 3 others wrote this song at a Music Camp. He actually performed the “Cover” that Angelina had already recorded in 2016, at 10. The Demo or not, it was published, uploaded, on Nov. 11, 2018. Reportedly, his offical video, published Dec 9, 2018, (two years later) was met with very little fanfare. He has since, given her Copyright privileges, and his blessing, to make a proper recording of the song. (After 350 various videos, this remains in my top 10!)
GREAT REVIEW. You said what probably most fans are thinking. She performed 14 songs at a concert on 21.07.2017 at Prosenfestivalen. Pick any five! She was on fire that day.
On thing that makes me love Angelina beyond all other singers is that she does it out of pure love of singing she has already said it herself : "..., singing for me is as important as breathing,..." and she doesn't do it to impress the gallery or show that she is capable of pushing the note higher than everyone else and she always respect her autor; in my opinion she is a creator of a new world of music in the sense that she does not allow herself to be influence by the fashions and styles of singing where everyone wants to perform and show what they are capable of. The great artists of today almost all have this addiction to impress by pushing the note young and old I hope that Angelina will be able to demonstrate that it is not necessary to perform vocal prowess for the music to remain music and not a performance and dazzle at all costs . You will tel me that Angelina also makes it, look good if you are dazzled you will see that what dazzles you is what she makes you fell,...
Josh, if you want to really hear "basement low" from Angelina, you must check out her renditions of the hymn "How Great Thou Art" (in the same key as Elvis, from what I've read!) and the classic old Sinatra standard "You Make Me Feel So Young"! Her low octave range, while maintaining awesome breath control, will stagger your mind!
So I hope Republics producers take a close note of this. Usually Angelinas voice is best with simple acoustic accompaniment. This production show cases her voice. It is an excellent example of how it is possible to not drown the subtleties of her voice by over production.
Her production company, the people shee actually works with everyday (except Rob) is Stargate, a Nowegian company based in the US, whose particating artist include Sam Smith, Rihanna and Beyonce. So she's in good and loving hands.
Angelina will tell them - respectfully of course - how she wants it done! :-D

Don’t think you have to worry about overproduction, or her being drowned out. Angelina has complete control of her music and artistic production via her contract with Republic. Angelina will do what Angelina does and we will be amazed

At around 12 Years old she did a cover of How Great Thou Art (Elvis) where she spent the entire song in her low range... and it's both beautiful and shocking! It was a real struggle to understand how she was doing what she was doing! A must watch. Great Reaction.
How Great Thou Art at 11 and You Make me Feel So Young at 12 are both low note gems. “Stay “is a favorite for the same time frame.

One that doesn't get mentioned as much is Every Time We Say Goodbye that she sang on a rooftop for a show in Norway. I believe she was 11. To me it is a masterpiece. If you want to hear her slay a jazz classic, you need to include this one.

Let me quibble a bit with your strictly chronological approach. You can listen to Angelina at any age and be stunned. Yes, her voice today is stronger and more resonant, but you can see her here at 10 killing this song for anyone else. If you stick with your approach, you’ll never catch up to present day Angelina because she has so many incredible songs. Within the past year, her releases of Suspicious Minds, Easy on Me, and I Have Nothing are all staggeringly good. You can go back anytime to her huge, amazing cache of songs, but you really should hear what Angelina can do today. I listen to Angelina everyday, and choose her older songs hundreds of times. Treat yourself to the best singer you’ll ever hear-and watch what she can do right now.
I totally agree with you johnvasi. Experiencing Angelina out of chronological sequence in no way takes away from the enjoyment of discovering her oeuvre. And I have been experiencing Angelina’s journey since 2017. For much of her discovery I had no choice but to discover her chronologically.

Have you reacted to her performances from the Proysenfestivalen at age 11? Highlights include Loving You, Diamonds Are Forever and Cry Me a River. She was on fire that day! And then there is the incredible studio version of I'm a Fool to Want You, where she records the song for her album, It's Magic. She's 11 there, too. Highly recommended!
Technically it’s a demo from the time when he was pitching this great song to singers. His own version is good too and i think he borrowed some from Angelina in how the chorus takes off a tall cliff and just soars. Nice to see you again!

@@tomrogers1305 See the comment by dhamma58 above ... the harmonies are double-tracked in the same Oslo recording studio that also produced her self-penned 'Shield', which again features their signature sonic fragments sampled from Angelina's own voice. The technique can also heard in her later recording for the movie 'The Hating Game' R (Australia)

Great to see you again with our favorite young lady. Age 11 see did a big outdoor concert with several of the same back up band from age 10 tv show singing Feeling Good. This entire concert and one other are fantastic. Loving You is just unbelievable! She changed a couple of words to reflect her age. Originally it was I Just Want To make Love To You. Another outstanding performance is Diamonds Are Forever, the James Bond movie song.
I wish you could take a break and jump up to last years February video AJ did for Valentine’s Day, My Funny Valentine by a just turned 16 year old is the most beautiful recording ever done for that song! Good luck with the microphone issues. I still have my 1968 Shure I used in my old high school band.

That ending is just artistry with the run sounding like her sinking down through the river waters. Genius level.

It's shocking to realize that the video was shot when Angelina was 10 years old ... so this is the child that is singing on 'I'm Still Holding Out For You' almost 2 years before Baby Fuzz! SingerDad, I really enjoy your final comments as they so closely match what Angelina is trying to do and that is bring more love, hope and compassion to all the people in the world. I sincerely feel that her music. I mean, honestly, how can you be mad or upset after you hear this wonderful artist sing a song? Thanks for such a great reaction.
I think you may be right that this one has the lowest notes you've heard from her so far. For reference, the first note of her a-cappella "I'm a Fool to Want You", which she sang just after turning 8, seems to have been only one note higher than the low notes you were marvelling at here (E3 vs. D3) - and this was (reportedly) sung nearly 3 years later, when she was just about to turn 11. She hit F3s and E3s (AFAICT) in some other things you've already heard, but just for the record, she got down to a D3 (more or less) when she sang "Unchained Melody" on a talk show called _Lindmo_ about a year before this recording (when she was about to turn 10). There is general agreement that the lowest note we've ever heard from her (so far) is in "How Great Thou Art", sung when she was 12, but disagreement over what the note actually was. I say "on paper" it was a C3, but it sounds to me like she went a little lower than that (but not as low as a B2) because she was trying to come up to the note from below it. (!)
Thank you for this detailed and thoughtful technical reaction from a singer's perspective. I also loved the background info on Brandon's thoughts on the song. The emotional aspects of the lyrics and her performance are worth mentioning too, since everything in the song and the singer result in the emotional reaction of the listener to the song. And no one delivers the intended emotions of the lyrics like Angelina.

Hello SingerDad, There are a lot of rumours. Actually this is her song because she sang it first but only as a demo and BabyFuzz did a cover of her. I think it's quite simple, the song would have gone through the roof and for her 10 years on this song and the way she is protected by her family it would have been too soon with the hype that followed and as mentioned would have been without a record deal it would have been difficult to release this song and only others would have benefited from it. but that's just a guess on my part
Angelina at 11yo opened her concert with this. It gets way too little notice. She rides the jazz wave without equal and also lets the dogs out! Not to be missed!

Hi Josh, I see you read my previous comment but I wanted to add a few more 11 year old Angelina songs to the mix as well, all are fantastic and from a live concert festival in Norway (Proysenfestivalen). Good to see you back! I'm glad you got to this one. It's a great example of Angelina's artistry. So many clever vocal choices she made here. ....and that run at the end is perfection.
If you want 11 year old, my personal picks would be from the "Proysenfestivalen" show (check Boris' channel): Diamonds Are Forever and Cry Me A River are both in my favorites.

Actually, she recorded this as an audition first, then it sounds like baby fuzz heard her version and incorporated her changes before doing his recording.
I don't believe Angelina record this song as an audition. I believe she was ask to record a demo to promote the song.

Great reaction! And great to see you back with Angelina as well. And I get super happy every time I understand that a reactor actually is aware of her age in this recording. I greatly appreciate your preparations and deep dive. As far as I know, Angelina was the first artist to record this song. It was just a demo at the time of recording, and Brandon didn't record his own version until a couple of years later. That ALMOST makes it Angelina's song, wouldn't you agree 😂

Thank you for that. It’s so good to see you again. There is a song, originally by Jacques Brel, that she took on at this age. If You Go Away is an amazing song, made up of simple, short words and phrases that, if played well, will touch your heart. Angelina does more than that. You will find Logic, Sadness, Yearning, Resignation, Pain, Forgiveness, and others I can’t identify, all within her interpretation. I think with your sensitivity to her voice, you could find them all for us. Thanks again.

Pretty sure all her Angels covet this song as one of her best at 10 or any other age I suppose though there are so so many "best" songs from Angelina. I would like to suggest this video of Angelina rehearsing "I'm A Fool To Want You" in studio at age 11. She had performed this song at age 8 on NGT, A Cappella. This rehearsal of this song is for her album "It's Magic" and is pure raw vocals with just a little bleed through of the music in the background, this is simply an 11 year old artist at work. I doubt that very much. Angie cut the demo with two of the songwriters. Ronny and Aksel. I’m sure they shared whatever demos they had done in the songwriting process to give her a basic idea of the phrasing of the lyrics. After that it was pure Angie magic. And outstanding production. This masterpiece is radio ready imo
@@jeffreyjameson5510 Angelina recorded this demo in December of 2016. This leaked demo was posted on November 11th 2018 and Baby Fuzz posted his current version on December 19th 2018. Those are the facts and anything else beyond that is pure speculation.
@@todradmaker4297 yes she certainly released hers first. But Brandon said in his interview he’d shopped his demo. Got no takers. Put it aside for a while. Then came back to it and polished it up and released it himself. I love Angie as much as anyone. But she didn’t write this song and didn’t make up what it sounded like. We are debating something neither of have any facts about other than the release of the video
