Disneyland Experience this was definitely my favorite panel today! thanks for sharing it! I could watch it two or three more times tonight.
Is it true - Rex was in Return of the Jedi?
Samus Aran CZ it was a theory but if you would like him to be than let's say he is
yeah it is exciting, especially when we've heard ray park talk about it for the umpteenth time, can't wait for the next time zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I know Ray's hip is giving him pain, but perhaps less co-codamol before hes due onstage......
I think we can all agree that he was the best thing that came out of The Phantom Menace
I do like the calm, reasoning, father like character of Qui Gon, he gets a lot of flak for some actions, but he was an interesting character (and way more interesting than Obi wan in Episode I,), still don't get the fuzz about midichlorians vs the force... it's like brain activity vs mind, big bang vs man's creation by the hands of god, edwards air force base vs area 51, a tide change at the red sea vs Moses splitting the sea with the help of God, ufo's vs flying saucers,............. it's basically the same thing, one version of the facts is just slightly more colorful than the other, just like many other things in the Star Wars movies.... wich makes sense because everything in Star Wars is very much like many things in the real world, just slightly more colorful.
WhiskeyMango By far!
Well on the web you're never the only one, but AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERS THE POD RACE?
Darth Maul and "Duel of the Fates".
"I think we can all agree that **insert person/music/scene** was the best thing in the prequels"
There's literally dozens of variations to this because ppl are still so butthurt about those movies.
darth maul needs its own movie
Try hard Gameplay yessssssss
thats a fantastic idea 👍👍
What he needed was not to get killed off in the first movie.
@@knightwarrioranimations9656 he didnt ..he has a whole storyline in star wars : the clone wars and sw:rebels..he lived almost as long as obi wan did and was awsome, especially in the clone wars series
Ray Park is just too badass for words. :) *ignites double bladed lightsaber*
Antonio Reyes Ray is better than Rey.
I would love to watch a Late Night show with Warwick Davis as the host.
BoilingKoolaid for real! I had no idea he was this funny!
True. But sometimes a character may be hilarious and the actor may have the personality of a wet blanket.
With him and Hamill. They'd frickin' explode the internet
BoilingKoolaid no joke. Dude is legit. fantastic host.
I love him for treating his size jokingly, treating it as just what it is and nothing more. As a regular sized one, I'm often insecure or rather anxious not to do or say anything rude, when actually, some things considered rude (mostly by said standard versions) would just be common sense. For example when Davis want's to do the Obi-Wan, well then it's a regular one's job to get him back up on the stage, that's why we learned to speak and all that smart stuff. I don't know if "regular" really is enough opposed to (the indeed insulting) "normal" here and transports what I mean - Davis, in this very example, is like a special edition human with with cool new functions: No one else could've done that stunt. Hm, and Mayhew with another special edition of a body would've been his perfect partner in that, theoretically. Actually all those variations in human bodies, foremost sizes and races, resemble different Stormtroopers. I got a black friend and I think he never had a really serious sunburn. He's a Suntrooper^^
"Be good, kids! Or you'll be chopped in half by a man with a pony tail"
- Warwick Davis, 2017
The man is so nice and humble, my kids wanted a picture so I told them to ask him how much it was. I never know that Ray would ask them to do push ups and they hit that floor and did it as I watched from afar, he gave them a free picture and I had a chance to shake his hand and thank him. So since to be around.
Warwick Davis did a fantastic job anchoring the stage events. He comes across really well, is generous with the time he gives, and, seems to get on with everyone. Listened to him on Desert Island Discs and he sounds like a true gent and family man.
I'm actually surprised at how nice of a guy Ray Park is. I wasn't going to watch this video but he had such great personality I had to watch it.
It would be badass to get him on Star Wars again. Maybe as one of the Knights of Ren?
If you're meaning the actor then sure, if you're meaning Darth Maul, well he died in Rebels :p
Cullen Manley He got chopped in half in PM right?
Dickhead Records Yes but then came back in The Clone Wars and Rebels TV shows, where he ultimately (spoiler alert) died.
Dickhead Records Then they brought him back in the clone wars and then killed him off for god in rebels
I would be fine with seeing him again pre-Phantom Menace, but let dead characters stay dead.
I was there today and Ray stole the show. Long Live Maul
I am so glad they've given notice to the prequel movies as much as the others so far, seeing Hayden again on stage was awesome after so many years of being a Star Wars fan of the prequels as well, but I was afraid that Disney was going to attempt to shut out the prequels from people's minds but they're doing well.
Hunter N yes I've always loved the preguels and it makes me sad when I see SO many people hating on them, and I honestly don't understand why. they had so much emotion and did such a great job at portraying the stories. and how they all come together (especially from the extended universe) I could go on and on 😂 but I feel like since this event, people are opening up more and showing some light to the preguels 😁
Bayleee rae yeah seriously! I understand the flaws of th eptequels but they are such exceptional movies! Ever since 1999 star ears fans made it a thing to criticize the prequels though, it became a popular idea to criticize them rather than a rational one. There are so many thing to love about them as well
Hunter N I've noticed that! people think they have to follow what everyone else does and hate, even tho theres really no reason too. I think if they was actual fans they could look past the CGI and what they call "bad acting" because the amazing story we all love was still there! lol
Bayleee rae lol I could kiss you, it's so hard to find reasonable star Wars fans who agree with me on this
Hunter N haha 😂well there's not many of us left lol
11:55 funny you should mention it.
"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me."
Mark S I was thinking about that too. The funny thing is that Sam Witwer (Darth Maul's voice) actually used the line for the Clone Wars series.
I still don't understand how Obi Wan cut Maul in half...I mean Maul had the high ground.
i wish he did to obi wan what obi wan did to anakin lol and maul could have took in the boy to teach him how to not have a kid to end the sith lol
"I do my own stunts sometimes... I once had to jump off a coffee table." - Warwick Davis :D
That entrance...
*C R I N G E*
Cringiest thing ever..
Ray Park or Andy Serkis as Gollum, right?
cocaine
... is one helluva drug!
WE NEED A SPIN OFF MAUL MOVIE!!!
his REAL death is splendid, much more dramatic than in Phantom Menace
well he's back ;)
please give Warwick Davis a speaking role in the new star wars films
takineko give him a full time talk show
I never even noticed Darth Maul had an earring until now. lol
this guy is awesome ,, what an energy
He's incredible and deserves much more hype and respect.
He needs to return in a Darth Maul solo movie
Would be more interesting than a Yoda or Boba Fett standalone.
Fun Guy Mhm
that would be better than the upcoming han solo movie. For me at least
Ed D I'm sure the Han Solo movie will be good, but I'm not excited, Han just doesn't excite me like other characters do.
"Ray we're not doing a Tarantino movie" XD
I think one of George Lucas biggest missteps as far as the prequels were concerned was that he didn't give Maul a bigger role. Maul was so badass, and unfortunately we only got a very small sample of him in The Phantom Menace. Darth Maul should have carried over into Episodes 2 and 3. There was no need to introduce new villains in each film. Dooku and Grievous were okay, but I would have rather had Maul. As far as I'm concerned the best thing to come out of the entirety of the prequels was the character of Darth Maul.
Stiggy0803 What does that have to do with anything? I wasn't even talking about Park, I was talking about the character, and regardless of who provided his voice it was still a waste of an amazing character.
Seen a lot of the other panels so far, Hamills tribute was incredible, let alone 40 year fo SW, but this one just beats everything.
I met Ray at the first Star Wars Celebration Europe in London over 10 years ago and he's a proper gent through and through. Warwick and Ray still the most entertaining stage set at these celebrations, and it would be great to see more of Ray's martial arts skills in more movies.
Ray Park you are the one & only Darth Maul & you made this character in Star Wars my favorite & best character
why didn´t anyone ask him about what they did with darth maul in the animated series?????
w 6655321 maybe got to do with the fact that he didn't worked or voiced(Maul) on the animated series , it's usually asked guests stuff they were part of
He's talked about it before in other interviews. I was surprised no one brought up twin suns.
w 6655321 I knowwww I was actually waiting for that. Even if he didn't voice him, it's still his character. I wonder what he thinks about it.
What was his reaction?
He basically just talked about how he liked that the character got a more fleshed out story and he was a big fan of savage.
This was great. I had no idea Ray Park was such a great guy. Warwick Davis is an absolute gem. He deserves his own show!
Parker is the man! He trully needs and deserves to be in the movies spotlight more often.
That was great, I've got a lot more respect for Ray now.
You didnt have much for him before?
why would you not have respect for him before? Did he do something to you personally?
No, but his treatment of fans at the time of TPM release was reported in the British press to be pretty bad. Since I've not bothered following him at all since 1999 - this literally being the first time I've seen him since then, it's refreshing to see he's a pretty good bloke.
Clearly skilled at what he does, but without following his work at all, and only going on what I remember from the time of the release of the Phantom Menace, he's not quite what I'd expected.
I met Ray in Cardiff a couple of years back. He's a really cool guy and took a lot of time to interact with fans.
His entrance makes me wonder if he played one of the Orcs in The Lord Of The Rings. His movement was dead on!
Great interview Ray ...good luck for the future buddy.
There needs to be more of you in movies...
I like that their is a canonical reason for why Maul very rarely used the force in Phantom Menace
He seems like such a lovely guy. Really fun panel to watch!
Wow that women at the end share her life story! She left out the part where other people might want a chance to ask a question.
Absolutely love Ray Park, this was one of the best panels in the whole celebration. Ray is nothing but fun and talent.
trying to create an authentic Darth Maul costume, but I'll never be able to perform acrobatics you learn in so many years of training. Additionally I'd like to mention, that he seems such a handsome and sympathic person, which makes me proud in some way to recreate the character. He was the best of the Phantom Menace. There were quite some nice scenes, but I just love the way Ray Park portrayed him and it's so good to hear, that martial arts fascinated him all over. That's how i felt in my childhood (even never followed it so far) but it amazes me! Biggest respect to Ray Park. He did, what I dreamt of!
I got to see this live, it was great, so cool after the show how he ran into the audiance and did selfies and junk, I loved it. He's hillarious
Seeing him spinning those red lightsabers was genuinely cool. Thank you SWC for inviting him.
I like Darth Maul so much more now that I know what Ray Park is like. Awesome guy!
Ray Parks has always been one of my favorite physical actors in the 21st century. I loved his entrance. Very Toad like.
Awesome that Ray came back, he was the best part of the prequels and when he came back in TCW I remember just being so excited
"I once had to jump off a coffee table."
I'm dying! XD
I had no idea Warwick was this funny!
This was great; he is super-creative guy who has a lot to offer. I hope to see him again in new stuff.
Ray Park is awesome, he made Darth Maul such a badass!
Ray is awesome. Committed and into the fun.
If there's anything good about Episode I most of it is because of this man.
No I know why they never had Ray Park voice or play Darth Maul again. This guy is nuts!
I really enjoyed this. He had his fanboy moment on this stage. This guy is pretty damn entertaining.
I really like Ray Park but the way he entered the stage was just cringe! Also, the lady that asked the question, bless her mum but she went on for way too long! Like 3 other people could've asked a question in the time it took her to say just one sentence!
gemjam85 he was playing his character from X-men 1 called Toad, that's the way he acted
Oh shit, I didn't even realize it was the same guy! Must've been all the make-up lol
+gemjam85 ... Holy crap, that lady monopolizing the time for audience questions, with her uninteresting life story. So self-indulgent and oblivious to the event and surroundings.
gemjam85
lol It wasn't cringe. Guy has a sense of humour. You don't actually believe that he's the real Darth Maul.
Honestly, on stage everything comes different, but he seems sympathic in my opinion and still portrays a villain in an amazing way. I would probably be like the 7 yo kid and be afraid in front of so many people. and we all know the feeling. Performing or spontaneous action in front of others. can go right, can go wrong. feel the force :)
Ray Parks is great. Darth Maul is probably one of the baddest Starwars villains to date. Totally underrated!
do an Ahsoka movie showing the Seige of Mandalore and have Ray Park in that. simples.
Love both these guys and the characters they’ve portrayed over the years. I believe the first time I saw Ray’s face without all the Maul makeup was in Heroes and I didn’t even realize it was him. I went to look up who was playing this character and was surprised to see it was him, but it made complete sense with who he was playing. He seems like an awesome guy.
They gave him a wee little desk. XD Adorable.
I went to this! He is so amazing! They all are. I was soooo excited to meet him! :))))))
except maul didn't die in that movie. until years later.
Such a fun dude
This was so much fun Ray is a blast every time love him so much. And Warwick was amazing as the host he crushed it, my favorite panel so far. PS The prequels deserve love, no one can deny phantom menace and revenge had the most amazing fights ever seen with maul and later with kenobi, love em. great job guys thanx
I've always felt one of the biggest missteps of the Prequels was killing off Darth Maul. Building him up and having Anakin strike him down in episode three would have been a great way for him to earn his place as Darth Vader.
wow, didn't know Ray park was such a legend!
Jesus why they let that woman ask questions?? SMH
I hope, that they will do an Obi-Wan spinoff movie with Ewan McGregor, and Darth Maul will return there, of course with Ray Park playing him.
He's such a goof and I love it!
Wow, what a wonderful thing for the children to do; go on stage with Darth Maul and strike poses.
He is such a sweetheart and so funny and honest!
36:44 that was the most entertaining part and the happiest
They need to do a Darth Maul spinoff movie, or some other spinoff that would feature him, (such as a Siege of Mandalore movie), and do it soon. Ray is 42 now and his face still looks reasonably young, and he's still fit and athletic, but the clock is ticking. If they leave it a few more years he'll be pushing 50 and it'll most likely be too late.
Been cool to have seen him duel that big chap playing Kylo.
Ray Park is great with fans!!
Straight up they should have never canned that Maul game that was in development.
there NEEDS to be a Maul origin movie
Ray needs to switch to decaf
shyjames83 lol
If you like Warwick Davis, watch Life's Too Short a show Ricky Gervais made.
I think a Darth Maul solo movie would be awesome!
He is also a huge Star Wars fan as well
Those were the worst 2 questions that could've possibly been asked
He sounds like Jack Sparrow
"You know"
Still loved it all!
Datth Maul was so underused.
He also didn't die which is disappointing that they didn't bring him back to the cinematic universe
Member Berry
Actually he died.
You're talking about some non canon stuff.
Clone Wars animated series was canon
FriendlyCroock Clone wars is canon. So he is alive.
Blue Thunder73 But he's dead now!
Wow such an animated and fun guy!
Is Ray Park drunk?...
hes just a straight up weirdo and i love it :D
Nah, he just never stopped being a kid at heart, and that's pretty awesome honestly. I also like when actors can have a little fun or be humorous with their roles because it shows that they're just as hyped about doing it, as people are to see it.
I thought he was doing Groxo from X-Men at first (another role of his)
ray park is awesome.
I died a bit inside when he said blue
Get Maul his own movie!! Love Ray 👍🏼👍🏼
Darth Maul give so much more to the movie :)
Lucasfilm should give him a role as an Inquisitor or Bounty Hunter
Say What Again i Dare you i Double Dare you! Nah he needs a role as anyone wielding a saber
Inquisitors use double bladed lightsabers.
I'd love to see Ray come back as Maul!
ダースモールが一番好きなキャラクター!レイパークさんってこんなに陽気な方なんだ!
とくに戦闘シーンがだいすきだなぁ!
つんこ - Exactly what I thought. You said it my man!
My dad was gym buddies with Ray Park when he was filming Phantom Menace
Darth Maul is HYPER!
Chronicle of Darth Maul would definitely be a cool spinoff film
Did this guy have a little bump before he got on stage lol?
Faleway he was acting like toad from the first x men movie he also has a lot of energy as you can see
we needs Darth maul solo film
RIP Maul
Greatest thing to watch ever lol
Warrick, force finger wave ALWAYS works with automatic doors!!!!!!!
Never knew he had bowed legs
Darth maul is truly lovable
