Cassidy Erin i gotta fly alone tomorrow and it’s my first time on a plane and there’s a lot of anxiety here
The first time I flew alone was on my 12th birthday, and ever since then, I prefer to fly on my own. When I told people, they thought I was crazy, but flying alone is less stressful (as long as you’re organised in some sort of way). There’s no need to worry about other people, and yes when you’re younger, your parents probably just keep track of everything, but it’s a great way to learn how to be independent. Since my first time, I have only flown twice (round trip) with someone I know, but even then I sat far from them on the plane and all that. Now I’m not a flying expert, but if one is to fly alone for the first few times, I recommend having a nonstop flight. I really only fly nonstop flights, unless the destination is very far. I haven’t flown internationally by myself, so I only speak on domestically (in my opinion).
EDIT: The only place I flew alone to was florida from DC and I would always meet with my aunt, so it’s not like I’m going to a brand new city alone lol. I also only flew Southwest alone, so I don’t know about other airlines. Again, this is all just based on my experience and I don’t speak on behalf of other airlines/experiences.
Totally agree! Tbh one stop or two is kinda fun bc you can just walk around and eat at the restaurants but i admit it can be sketchy, especially if you’re at LAX or something and the terminals are not connected so you’d have to walk outside

Update, I flew on a small plane so the turbulence were bigger but the landing and takeoff was a lot smoother than I thought, don’t stress about it

I travelled alone a week ago I was so scared at first because Ive flown once a year for almost 6 years with a flight attendants I small airports never big ones, but I turned 16 and is the first time I do I had a layover in Dallas for 4 hours and I LOVED IT I got on the small train they have and went to all of the terminals Went to eat food and did a bunch of other things I was not worried at all it was quite fun not having anyone telling you what to do and being in a place you don’t know was The best thing ever

I flew alone when I just hit 16 as well! At first it was very nervewrecking going through customs myself, and then it felt like nothing but a normal flight, except more freeing.

Your video came up on my recommended and it was so nostalgic for me. I’m 21 rn but I started traveling alone (with custody) at 8 and really alone around 15. It was really ironic for me because my mom wouldn’t even let me walk to the corner store alone, but would let me travel internationally alone. Hahaha. Really nice video! Happy future travels!!

Yeah, I recently had 3 connecting flights I had to attend to by myself. I’m 16 as well. Im used to it because I actually traveled by myself when I was little but only for 1 flight. Going to gates and taking responsibly, going through customs was a game changer. It is scary, but a tip I can give is always pay attention and ask questions. 🙂
The first time I was traveling by myself was when I was 10 and I was soooooo nervous, it's ok if your nervous because alot of people get like that too. Now, I've traveled by myself 4 times already and I still get scared at take off.

I love traveling by myself. I’ve done it many times but started when I was 13 (I am 19 now) and next week I have a flight by myself to go to Texas but have a 12 hour layover so I am also getting a hotel alone as well

Lol I never saw your channel before, this video just came onto my dashboard, I guess b/c Im an Av Geek and I watch a lot of aviation content. Nonetheless, flying alone is a great experience, which I did twice when I was 14. They treated me really well haha and upgraded me to first class (Domestic FC) when I missed my return leg (Slept in haha). They also gave me extra treats and food lol. Nowadays, Im too old to be given "special treatment" but I love aviation so I thoroughly enjoy flying. Trust me, continue flying and you will enjoy more and more. Unless of course you are afraid of flying, which is another story. Anyhow, have a great day and keep up the channel mate! Cheers

Ahh nice adventure... When I was your age I went on a trip with my Dad to Paris, France during spring break. He was a pilot for the airlines so it was a nice "free" trip... Everything was great until the return trip. A weight restriction at the last minute meant that none of the "pass-travel" passengers could go. My dad was the pilot on that flight so he had no choice but to leave me behind in Paris. The next day looked poor for pass-travel so I had to figure out how to get home. He gave me his credit card at the last minute and I bought a ticket to Germany and found my own way home from there the next day.

Hey! So were you able to go through security alone??? Like did anyone have to be there to pick you up with an ID? Also, did you need a passport/ form of ID to get through TSA? I'm flying alone but I don't know exactly what I should bring with me and what my parents/ family are supposed to do. I'm not using the unaccompanied minor service either.

Hey! I am not sure of the policies in Malaysia because in America we didn't even need a parent consent form. I would suggest searching up on Google for the policies there. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, and hope you have a great trip!

Usually 16+ either needs a parental consent form or none. Cheap on the airlines website.
