Just stumbled upon this channel and what a joy to see my seminary teacher from my junior year in high school. Brother Griffin was one of my favorite seminary teachers -- I was in his class during a pretty dark time in my life. At a time I was inactive in church and only in seminary because my parents wouldn't let me drop seminary. His class was one of the few lights in my life at that time. One of the only places I felt the spirit. So glad I had his class -- he was wonderful. I never felt he was judging the kid in the black hoodie sitting in the back of class. I don't know if I told him them the positive influence his class had on me, but all these years later, I felt it a tender mercy of the Lord to see and hear him once again on these videos.

You are a child of God regardless of who you are and where you are. You have the full capacity to become like Him. It doesn't matter what the world or anybody thinks of you in your current state. You will become like Him if you continue to choose Him. God is trying to help you become just like Him and wants you to fully inherit everything He has. (Thank you Brother Taylor Halverson.)

Listening to this particular lesson has given me hope. In my situation I’m unable to do very much. It feels as if I’m living in a physical prison in my body. But somehow, despite not being able to do all or much of anything I desire to do to serve God and others, God still loves me. I am profoundly humbled and grateful. Thank you so very much Taylor and Tyler. 🙏

Oh my goodness Valerie, you sound just like me…
Yes, this is a hopeful lesson to those of us who are struggling with physical frailties of the mortal body and who desire to do more in His kingdom but often have to ‘let go’ and hand our “list” over to Christ.
This beautiful lesson has brought peace to my soul this day.

I took these scriptures to heart when I joined the church 47 years. I let God and the Spirit help me overcome a flaw that I had since birth. That help was there, I worked diligently to overcome my flaw, and the Spirit was always there. Today, I have pretty much solved the problem with their help; It took decades.
Thank you Lord and Holy Spirit. I can now help others with that same flaw; at least a little bit.

I followed the rod that led to the tree. The fruit therof was indeed glorious. I partook and was filled with the love of God. My will was swallowed up by the will of My Father. And my percieved cares and lists that weighed me down... melted away. I asked God then what should I do? I was retasked and was sent out. heeding his word , I now take confidence that what I do that is his will is ordained of God. I can now ask him for strength and he strengthens me. Now im on his errand, and he goes before me and at my side. For we are one. and now I accend above myself and this world. Not tresspassing anymore his laws of obidience, and sacrifice. I am growing in his gospel and the law of concecration. "First seek the kingdom of God, and all things shall be added to you." Then once I know who I am, "A Child of God" then I have my charge as a son and daughter in the lineage of Ephraim, God will task me to take my knowledge to my neighbor. to strenghthen them, to turn their hearts to our Father in Heaven. Prepatory to the second comming of Jesus Christ.

This was and is a very powerful presentation. I just love the question Bro Griffin raised at the beginning. And I love how Paul addressed it.
That question has been on my mind every day lately lol. I keep remembering to stop and ask the Lord to help me structure and manage my time in accordance with how he thinks I should do it.
This reminded me to keep doing that and ask Heavenly Father first for his opinion and guidance. I know I can't do it all, so I ask him to help me prioritize the challenges of the day.
I love what was said about being free from the ills and anxieties of the world. I know Heavenly Father has really helped me with this. I love what was said @ Roman's 8.5. I ask him the same questions too.
This part of the presentation has added something more to that though, and now I will pause and contemplate whether it's a thing of the body or spirit. I think this is wonderful counsel. It's a good way to sort things out internally, so thank you.
I love Bro Halverson's 10 10 10 approach. That's actually really good advice, giving space for the spirit to step in.
I also love what was said at Romans 8.6. And how the spirit will bear witness to our spirit directly, and how he will teach us the truth of our identity. I love the words of Paul. This is all medicine and healing for the soul, this is what I needed to hear today.
I love what was said at Romans 8.18 and the promise that our sufferings will pale in comparison to the goodness of Christ. I've already been experiencing this in some instances.
I love what was said about growing through trials vs going through trials.
I love that the Lord sits with us and listens and feels with us, even when we dont have the words to verbalize things.
Overall, I have felt the depth and endless love of the Saviour with this presentation. Thank you so much. Today I needed a reminder that I am a child of God. God bless you ❤.

Bro. Taylor and Bro. Tyler, “thank you” does not seem to be enough. Your many years of personal study, classes, personal trials and wrestlings along with innumerable experiences qualify you to be “Saviors on Mt. Zion”. I am eternally grateful to be a beneficiary of your choices. You each have a vital role as you team teach. I often wonder of the prayers you must have personally and together that create such a sense of unity. Many times I wish I’d understood during my service as a missionary. Who would have ever thought you’d be serving together as a companionship in this mission? I truly can feel the love you have for the Lord, each other and your audience (aka: brothers and sisters). Again, thank you deciding to follow our Savior by teaching His gospel.

T&T Brothers, Wow, I totally agree with you on Chapter 8 of Romans, what a power-packed and one my favorite chapters from Paul !! Romans 8:1 has a great Reassurance regarding our fallen natures. I love the great Psalm from Nephi in 2 Nephi 4 which is a mirror image from Paul, "who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit" Romans1:8. Can you imagine the conversation these iconic Prophets are having beyond the veil comparing these two chapters !!!! Thank you my friends for your input and inspired testimonies. ***We remind ourselves after reading Romans 8:32: A lamb or sheep is one of the few animals that does not protest at its time of slaughter but actually remains hushed, passive, and submissive to the end. Hmm, sure sounds like a great metaphor to me!!

I too have been on the dark roads in life. What got me through is staying close to Jesus, pray to Him, read of Him in the Scriptures. The Book of Isaiah was a huge help, I highlighted all the promises and comfort verses I could find. Isaiah 35, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 46 just to name a few. Hymns too have given me hope and comfort, such as 'Lean on my ample arm'. Check out Brad Wilcox's talk - His Grace is Sufficient. Know that Jesus is right next to you in the dark tunnel, He isn't the light at the end of the tunnel, He is the light with you as you walk onwards. As Elder Holland says, keep going, keep trying, heaven is cheering you on. Read 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse' book and remember how far you've come ❤

I can barely get around. I have other minor problems as well. Will we learn about those other problems and what we might have done about them???

I have for a long time now been aware that what happens in this short period of mortality is irrelevant in the context of eternity! We, as mere mortals, can't really wrap our minds around what eternity really means, any more than we can wrap out minds around the vastness of the universe, or the concept of infinity! I have come to be content that once this brief mortal existence is behind use all things will become clear. One of the reasons I have no fear of death.

I am very cognizant of this "conforming" narrative! I have never been sure why, but my entire life I have had, for lack of a better word, a phobia about being seen as conforming. To this day, if it is the "IN" thing to do, I avoid it! Sometimes I suspect to an extreme. Back when I was in high school I drove a Studebaker just because the "cool dudes were driving Fords, Chevies, or whatever. I just detest the thought of "Me too"!

✨️In this fictional scenario, where Dr. Hugh Nibley is a guest on "The Joe Rogan Experience," let's explore how he might explain the symbolism of LDS temples to the curious Joe Rogan:
**Joe Rogan**: "So, Dr. Nibley, I've always been curious about those Mormon temples. They look pretty unique, and I've heard they're not like regular churches. What's the deal with them?"
**Dr. Hugh Nibley**: "Well, Joe, it's a pleasure to be here, and I appreciate your curiosity. First of all, you have to understand that temples hold a special place in the beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They're not just places of worship; they're a key part of our spiritual journey."
**Joe Rogan**: "Okay, but what's so special about them? What goes on inside?"
**Dr. Hugh Nibley**: "Inside the temple, we participate in sacred ceremonies that we believe connect us with God and help us understand our purpose in life. Now, it might seem a bit mysterious, but it's all about symbolism."
**Joe Rogan**: "Symbolism, huh? What do you mean by that?"
**Dr. Hugh Nibley**: "Think of it like this, Joe. You know how you see street signs every day, and they have specific meanings? Well, our temples are filled with symbols that carry deep spiritual significance. They're like cosmic street signs, guiding us on our spiritual journey."
**Joe Rogan**: "Okay, that's intriguing. Can you give me an example?"
**Dr. Hugh Nibley**: "Certainly! For instance, the stars you see in the temple's celestial room represent the vastness of God's creations and remind us of our eternal potential. It's like looking up at the night sky and feeling awe-inspired."
**Joe Rogan**: "Got it, stars symbolize the vastness of creation. What else?"
**Dr. Hugh Nibley**: "Well, the Garden of Eden is another significant symbol in our temples. It represents the ideal state of harmony and innocence, a place we strive to return to spiritually."
**Joe Rogan**: "So, it's like a reminder of our spiritual goals?"
**Dr. Hugh Nibley**: "Exactly, Joe! The symbolism in our temples encourages us to live our lives in a way that aligns with our beliefs and values. It's a way of teaching profound truths through visual and symbolic language."
**Joe Rogan**: "That's fascinating, Dr. Nibley. It sounds like there's a lot more to these temples than meets the eye."
**Dr. Hugh Nibley**: "Absolutely, Joe. They're meant to be places of learning, meditation, and personal growth. And by understanding their symbolism, we can appreciate the unique role they play in our faith, setting us apart from other Christian traditions."
In this fictional scenario, Dr. Hugh Nibley, with his treasure chest of research and notes, and his enthusiasm for explaining temple symbolism, aims to shed light on the deep and meaningful aspects of LDS temples to Joe Rogan, emphasizing their importance in the spiritual journey of Mormons.✨️🌌

Not so…I like the suit and ties. I think it shows respect for teaching the scriptures.

@@jandawoman The LDS church is now piloting fulltime missionaries wearing casual clothing without name tags in order to be more relatable to the public. Suits and ties are business attire and people outside the LDS church don't connect with that. The Mormon "uniform" is a barrier to communication outside the institution.

In church and in the temple is good but I believe it is about respect for what they are doing such as bringing scriptures and the gospel to others. Hmm what did Jesus wear as he preached he was dressed not as the high priests of that day but did not walk around with tattered clothing. He dressed well enough .

@lenaevans731 How do you know how He was dressed since He did not own anything? Regardless, He blended in with the crowds. That's my point.
