    Great review; I love that you did this from a tech and EDC perspective. Just subscribed, great channel tagline in "well designed, useful objects"!

    I’ve watched quite a few videos like this and this is another that confirms more of a clamshell opening is my preference. I’ve been using a clamshell style pouch from Maxpedition for quite a few years and it’s been very beneficial for me.

      The thing about this that's not in the clamshell form factor is the ability to also carry your wallet, earphone, keys etc. For pure non pocket carry EDC, a Maxpedition might make more sense.

    I am a great fan of Alpaka products. Whenever I need a new bag or pouch I start with them to see if they have something to fit my need. Usually they do and to date I have never had anything fail from them.

      I agree. Great product design and impeccable quality. I'm considering a backpack from them at the moment.

    I’ve got the green variant, and usually pack cables in the front zippered pocket. The “regular” Elements Tech Case (not Max) may work better for your needs.
    Great video! Enjoying your channel!

      Thanks a lot 🙂happy you liked it. Thanks for taking the time to let me know.
      I'm considering the regular as well as Aer cable kit 3. Probably will decide over the weekend. And either way that means another review coming up 😀

    I have the Alpaka Vertex Pouch. I see similar issues. The vertical dividers don’t go all the way down, and the same feeling about the zippers. With daily use you’d think they would be less stiff over time. I have had mine since December and they are still stiff.

      And as I watch I see the tech pouch doesn’t stand on its own. The Vertex Pouch stands on its own.

      I think companies are certainly overusing those waterproof zippers. I'd much rather have zippers that make what I do every single day easier. Also regular good quality zippers do offer some degree of water protection for light spills. Maybe that's just me and people demand them. I don't know.

      I considered it for its standalone and desk caddy kind of functionality but it's just too big for me.

      @@AboutThings_byTarifI felt the same way at first, way too big. But then earlier this year I had an allergic reaction to some unknown allergen and ended up having an Epipen and inhaler that I had to carry around with me all the time. So now it’s become my “slash bag.” Pocket dump/Tech pouch/Med kit. It comes in especially handy when I go on trips.

      Sounds like a great fit. Hope you're feeling better.

    For your tech loadout, Why didn't you put your external drive in the outer pocket?

    • @AboutThings_byTarif
      @AboutThings_byTarif  10 днів тому

      I tend to keep that pocket for things I use more often than I do the external drive. Also I think it might be a bit big for it if everything is loaded out since that puts pressure on the pocket. I'll give it a try and let you know.

    Next Steps : Clean up Background, no stuff should lay unintended behind you. Throw some colorful light at this white wall behind you.

    • @AboutThings_byTarif
      @AboutThings_byTarif  7 днів тому

      Thanks 🙂 will work on it. Not a fan of the overly polished look though with the colorful lights and all that. We'll get to something more up my alley but a bit more professional.

    • @Blafasel_Blafasel
      @Blafasel_Blafasel 7 днів тому +1

      Yeah not to mush, but when nothing is behind you than a white wall, than a blue or red spot would make it better. Otherwise you should carefully arrange the background with some kind of objects.
