I watched the full match. Shelton hit more shots to Sinner's backhand to take the 2nd set. The forehand caused both players trouble. Ultimately it was Shelton's serve that won out over Sinner's.
Big fan of Shelton, I love that fire he puts on the court, tennis needs more of that, sometimes it’s so focused on elegance and etiquettes, which is so boring and awkward. Tks for that, Ben.
Glad Shleton's still doing that celebration even after the childish mockery from Djokovic. Not sure what the hate is for the kid. He's playing great tennis and is just super passionate about the sport. Y'all need to relax.
As a Djokovic fan I’m happy for Ben. Great to see some new energy and fire in the tennis world. Although I admire the stoic nature of the big three from an era gone by, players like Ben are needed to keep things fun and spicy in a world that’s saturated by other forms of entertainment that are are fighting for viewer’s time and money. Despite all the drama surrounding the Ben and Novak “phone-gate” earlier in the year, that sort of hype and media attention (within the bounds of good taste and competition) are great for the sport.
yes, stoicism has killed the ATP fan base in the USA. Federer's personality didn't help at all. Novak and Rafa showed personality that helped draw fans and players, but they both keep their cards close to the chest in public and in interviews. Alcaraz and Shelton are great for tennis
@@Markph7 Federer's stoicism is far superior to the pathetic fan pandering the current gen engages in. He brought in more fans with his actual PLAY than these guys will combined lmao

Partido increíble! Parecía una final en cuanto a intensidad, calidad y capacidad de superación. Me encanta Sinner, esa mente fría,su simpatía y su humildad. Diría casi lo mismo de Shelton. Gracias a los dos por este partizazo.
People look for excuses with certain players. Some people will never like Nole because he has a certain personality, but he’s still a great champion. I don’t care for Kyrgios because he is so undisciplined. Shelton will likely be ok because his father is right there with him and here in the US we’re always ready to support hard work, discipline and winning!
They're threatened by a young, confident, talented black American player who is a threat to their status quo of European domination which was itself a response to decades of American domination. In the early 2000's, they changed the court speeds by making them slower & more homogenous to break the American rule by serve. these slower courts favored returners who grind out wind in rallies over servers who play quick points. Thus came the Big 3. Even Fed was undone by the grind of N&D neither of whom are touted for their serves. Shelton has a rare, dangerous leftie serve that will cause problems for many on tour. The new generation Shelton is a part of is more well-rounded in their game than the lost generation of specialists who had significant issues in at least one key area (poor 2nd serve, poor net game, or poor backhand) & were subsequently suffocated by the continued dominance of FND. Things are changing now.

Poor Sinner he was too tired at the end.. he still had to work on his physique to be able to compete in two tournaments in row... on the contrary Shelton was still in great shape at the end. Too Bad for Sinner otherwise i think he would have won in 2
Excuses excuses. Sinner lost playing a competitive sport. Ben was better today! Geez people relax. Sinner did not own a win… its why they play! Bravo Ben… you’re coming for it…
Sinner gave it everything he had across two tournaments. I actually think he’s completely okay with losing this one, as illustrated by his smile at the end. Even he knows he needs a break.
Totally agree. He needs a very deserved rest. But the final Alcaraz vs Sinner would be very interesting Next time! Compliments to Ben, he can reach the final now
LET'S GO SHELTON! 2-6 6-3 7-6 (7-5) You write your narrative! No one else. Not the media nor the naysayers. An all USA QF - Shelton vs Korda! They both had such good R4 matches! Shelton and Alcaraz with their big personalities and self-belief are key for the men's game. This is a HUGE step forward for Shelton, to beat an in form Sinner on a neutral court (not at the US Open or playing in Europe/Australia with Sinner's base loud). Brash is part of being young and the ATP culture tennis crushes the flare that brings young fans. Think of all the negative energy towards Kyrgios, Medvedev, and even the young Djokovic on the tour when they came up. Soccer, the NBA, etc. give young athletes the opportunity to act young and to draw fans. Tennis doesn't get this. Sinner will succeed, I think beyond Shelton, but bringing fans, especially from the USA is key for the sport and as beautiful as Sinner's game is, being so subdued will not draw fans unless he wins 4-5 grandslams in the next 3 years and changes his marketing and brand. So, here is to Alcaraz, Medvedev, Shelton, Tiafoe, and any other ATP player who doesn't hide his flaws and personality on court, in interviews, and in public.

@@MondoRockGP Your comments are strange, stupid, and over emotional. Sounds like you're talking about severe crimes against humanity. This is tennis. It's just a game. I hope Shelton can sustain this. It’s been such a weird season for him, but when he’s been on, he’s been fantastic. Being 20 years old and already having a ton of haters means you’re doing something right. Hope he can crack the top 10 next year! Not sure if it’s mathematically possible this year. Also, and this may be premature, but with how many top players have gone down, Shelton has a decent chance at winning this thing. Wow, this is great for Tennis. After the big 3 it was almost going to be boring but the whole pace / power game has changed with this new blood.
What a performance by Shelton! He is a rising star for sure.
Thank you @Tennis TV for not pitting the result of the match in the thumbnail or total. Really appreciated.
Big fan of Shelton, I love that fire he puts on the court, tennis needs more of that, sometimes it’s so focused on elegance and etiquettes, which is so boring and awkward. Tks for that, Ben.
And you can have the élégance and the beauty with the « fire « like you said
Glad Shleton's still doing that celebration even after the childish mockery from Djokovic.
Not sure what the hate is for the kid. He's playing great tennis and is just super passionate about the sport. Y'all need to relax.

They both played wonderfully. Going to enjoy more of their matches. Tennis is in good hands with these two.

Shelton has his own style and that is rare enough nowadays in a very formatted top level.
Shelton is different, I like the way he plays… if no injuries he would soon top 5..
honestly don't know why people don't like Shelton. the guy's actually has personality on court
I like his game and I don't like his antics, though it seems he's stopped cheering on his opponent's unforced errors which I applaud.

DIALED IN! Always fun to watch. Kudos also to Sinner for his high level this past month.
Awesome hitting Congrats Ben Shelton 👏
Poor Sinner he was too tired at the end.. he still had to work on his physique to be able to compete in two tournaments in row... on the contrary Shelton was still in great shape at the end. Too Bad for Sinner otherwise i think he would have won in 2
Excuses excuses. Sinner lost playing a competitive sport. Ben was better today! Geez people relax. Sinner did not own a win… its why they play! Bravo Ben… you’re coming for it…

Shelton has not played since Laver Cup... so definitely fresher.
Alcarez looked like he needed a rest after his last 2 tournaments.
His attitude seems better this game. At least he stopped cheering his opponent's unforced errors. Good for him to improve on that.
I like Sinner.✨
Wow, nice match.
Even though Sinner was clearly tired for the previous tournaments Shelton did a great job. Very very solid serve! Could be his weapon n.1!
It's concerning. Sinner needs to improve his endurance for the slam titles, having to play best-of-five matches in those events.
@@seanl6885 yeah. Maybe he should build just a little bit of muscles to endure a little more.
Great highlights!
Sinner gave it everything he had across two tournaments. I actually think he’s completely okay with losing this one, as illustrated by his smile at the end. Even he knows he needs a break.
Totally agree. He needs a very deserved rest.
But the final Alcaraz vs Sinner would be very interesting
Next time!
Compliments to Ben, he can reach the final now

LET'S GO SHELTON! 2-6 6-3 7-6 (7-5) You write your narrative! No one else. Not the media nor the naysayers. An all USA QF - Shelton vs Korda! They both had such good R4 matches! S+K served so well & handled the pressure better than expected. You really saw the self-belief in their respective tiebreaks. US men's tennis is ramping up for a renaissance!
Ben Shelton is improving. I think he can win a grand slam one day he's only 21. He is playing alot better than when he made the quarter final at the Australian Open
tbh would be surprised if any of this current crop of American men could win a slam. Maybe Shelton but he's got a lot of improving to do

Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Shelton really has potential, big serve, nice footwork.
He remindes me at Kyrgios. Very talented and brings some spice into the game.

I liked his cocky flair from the beginning.
Two of my favorite players. Big win for the American 🇺🇸 ❤
Shelton reminds me of Nadal junior.
People love Nadal for his explosive play like Shelton
@@RBGRBGRBGRBG They are not saying a quieter player means lack of belief. Everyone has their own style. Nadel, Novac..before them it was Jimmy Conners who was very noisy, Johnny Mac with his in your face attitude.

Ben had a great first year. Sinner came on strong as the year went on and I feel he should be considered one of the few that can win Grand Slams going into next year. With that said, someone who has UA-cam videos on tennis that I really admire has predicted that Ben could take the US Open next year. There's nothing wrong with talking about both players. In fact, I was admitting that Sinner may have lost to Ben because he was tired, not because Ben is the better player because he isn't. Sinner is better.

I hope Shelton can sustain this. It’s been such a weird season for him, but when he’s been on, he’s been fantastic. Being 20 years old and already having a ton of haters means you’re doing something right. Hope he can crack the top 10 next year! Not sure if it’s mathematically possible this year.
