      @@ArmchairRizzard He's gone into far more detail on podcasts a couple of times. He told the whole story of the pool hall scam they did and partying with the cops on Rogan for example. Classmates who were there with him have also confirmed it on social media, and one of them posted some pictures from the trip.

    FYI ... The movie "Van Wilder" made famous by lead actor Ryan Reynolds, was based on Bert Kreisher and his college experience. It is hilarious as from what he has said in interviews, eerily terrifying and accurate in some scenes.

      Guess it depends on your movie tastes. I'm nearing 50 and college humor is a little beyond me at this point. But I enjoyed it when it came out many years ago.. I think Ryan Reynolds was the perfect choice to play Bert's character and I've watched the movie several times over the years.

      @@SpaceCity23 LOL No. It's because, early in his stand-up career, he figured out that when he got up on stage, he got REALLY nervous. And when he gets nervous, Bert SWEATS. Like, a LOT. By the time he finished a short routine his shirt would be half-soaked. So he just started taking his shirt off as soon as he got on stage.

    Something you should know:
    "мужчина" = muzshina, or "the man."
    "машина" = mashina, or "a machine."
    I think homeboy Bert over there, in his panic, tried to tell them that he was The Man but got his words mixed up and told them that he was a Machine instead.

    just so u guys know, that story is actually true and he as talked in more detail and shown photos and other proof.
    he really did run a pool hall scam with the russian mafia members and his class needed a boat or something and the mafia said they would get it, which apparently meant jacking one for the class hahaha

    definitely best reaction channel out there, keep doing these... and like other commenters said. This is all supposedly true, Bert has talked about it many times on podcasts and did before he made it into a comedy. Has pictures of the trip and old classmates coming on to verify the story etc, of course he spiced some things up for the sake of comedy but the major throughlines are supposedly true

    The mafia thing was touched on in Rocky IV, but more subtle. The "chaperones" that wouldn't let Rocky out of their sight... same thing.

      Not exactly. Rocki IV happens before the fall of the Soviet Union, the people following him everywhere are KGB (state spies). The story from the standup happens in 95 when the soviet union had collapsed and mobsters and gangs were pretty much running the country. Same idea, but not exactly the same :)

    The magazine named Kreischer "the top partyer at the Number One Party School in the country."

    Nice reaction. And for a bonus I see the cover of The Amazing Spider-Man #135. Once upon a time I had every SM issue from 96 to somewhere around 250. But I would occasionally swap out boxes of comics with a neighbor and he had all the Spideys when his family moved.

    Answer your question about why he takes his shirt off... I heard him say in an interview one time.... That still today.... He gets very nervous about going out on stage. So he takes his shirt off to help calm his nerves because people then looking at him without a shirt on instead of questioning why he's on stage. He's been doing it long enough now that's part of his schtick.

    Russians I met in China were cool. And dont let people make you think being black is negative all across the globe. They loved me in China cause they all thought i was in the NBA or something (Im only 6'2 but towered over almost everyone i saw there) until I told them otherwise but they were still very friendly.
