I keep a bunch of single capacitors from 3 to 80 mfd in stock. A role of plumbing strap and im set for most anything! I do keep a couple of the most popular dual caps and a turbo 200 cap just in case. Good job gettin em runnin steve
Why is it HVAC techs don't carry those little sheet metal screws? Every unit you open up is missing half of those little guys. LOL Another great video Steven
Nice video...My 33 year old air handler still has the original cap and motor. If the cap ever goes can I buy another high quality cap like the old days? I don't care if it costs more.
Quality repair Steven! I should have posted in your "tool purchase video," but your right about no one out there beating you on how much you carry in your truck! Take it from me guys, I see Steven all the time on the road, and his truck is a beast!! He carries as much as some supply houses in that truck!!!
Do capacitors have a shelf life? I have an extra for my ol' American Standard that has been sitting on a shelf for about a year. The unit blew 2 capacitors in the 8 years I've owned the house so I thought I'd get ahead of it.
i uasally install a duel run also but i did not have this size in my truck and the supply house was out if them also, so i had no choice ,they fit in there nicely ,,the two seperate ones will last longer anyway
Best to connect a home run from T2 to each cap. Yes you can jumper from one cap to the other for common. Why not give give the best electrical connection possible?
Was this recorded a few weeks ago at that school u were doing the cleanings or did if have to return for a no AC call ? I been meaning to ask u I seen that cap sheet u refer to for low testing on the caps , anyway I can locate that sheet or u can share it with me ?
i had to return with a no cooling call a few weeks later,,,,,,,,,,i made the cap sheet up -5% and +10% i just used my calculator to figure out what the values were.
Hey why didn't u just put another 60/5mf dual run capcitor because it takes up less space and is easier then putting in two and drilling another hole for a second capcitor and takes less time and money
i did not have a duel cap on truck ,,i used the same hole that was there,so there was no drilling needed ,the supply house i deal with did not have a 60/5 in stock anyway.i have problem using 2 run caps .they fit in there just fine .

thanks awsom70 for commenting
thanks for the video. I had to replace a dual with 2 singles and found this to be exact same colors and jumper situation.

Great video Steven, maybe you can show a couple of caps in series and in parallel if you haven't already done that. Keep up the good work.
Ray

Nice job Steve, good to check new caps before installing them. Thanks for sharing.

You should use a galvanized screw. Sheetrock screw in an outdoor environment will corrode real fast and the metal is brittle.
Just as Master Steven LAV said, get the single run caps. Those dual runs are on borrowed time.
nice job Steven
thanks darian
Why would you do that? Isn't it easier to get one with three terminals?

Nothing wrong with adding 2 instead of a dual, I prefer using a dual cap, but in a pinch Ill slap a second one in there in a heartbeat

Singles last longer guys. Just as Master Steven Lav said.
Good work Steve! I see you keep going back to the school/daycare... Them a/c are giving them problems slowly huh?

i use a sheet rock screw like a 2 " one it work fine
It's hard to stay away from the daycare...all the kids will remember the guy with the big white truck that makes the AC start running again!
Good camera work.
thanks bill
