Soon Joe Biden will be the 46th President in American history. Biden has had some major tragedies in his life.
On December 18, 1972, just weeks after he was elected to the U.S. Senate, his wife, Neilia, was Christmas shopping with their three kids, Naomi, Beau, and Hunter, when their vehicle was struck by a truck pulling out of an intersection. Both Neilia and Naomi, who was just one year old at the time, died in the accident. Beau and Hunter were injured, but survived.
However, on May 30, 2015, Beau died at the relatively young age of 46 from brain cancer.
Perhaps a parent’s worst fear is to lose their children, and Joe Biden has had to bury two of his four children. However, throughout American history, it has been more common than you probably think for American Presidents to outlive their own children.
In this video, let’s look at every single son or daughter of every single American President. Some of the presidents’ children were famous. The vast majority of them, however, were not. Heck, they don’t even have Wikipedia pages, and we don’t even know the names of all of them. The average number of children for all the Presidents is 4.1 Now, keep in mind that I am also going to mention some “alleged” children throughout this video.
So did I miss any kids? Anyone want to come forward and say you are also a child of a President?
Who was your favorite kid? (I'm asking Presidents, specifically)
This is a little off topic but I think you should become the 47th president of the United States! 🇺🇸

I was really bored, so I counted all the kids.
There are 192 kids in total.
46 died before the age of 18.
There are 114 unique names. The most common are John (15), Mary (9), James/Jimmy (7), Elizabeth (5) and Robert (5).

Fun fact about Robert Todd Lincoln: He also nearly died as a child. He had fallen onto a railroad track in front of a train, but was rescued at the last moment by a well-known actor named Edwin Booth. Booth's brother John had some connection to the Lincoln family as well...
Wow
😏
Is this true? Holy hell...
Yeah I have heard about this story before one of the more crazy coincidences
Yep
We all know the connection
Not so fun fact: The oldest person who ever lived actually outlived both her kid and grandkid
Woahness
This indeed was not a fun fact :(
Didn't King Louis XIV of France (the Sunking) did the same?
with modern medicine and technology, that might happen more in the future, outliving your grandchildren rip
Given she was 122, at least her kid/grandkid would've had a good long life
"Alleged children" oooh la la!
Regarding Madison, there is a woman with a potentially credible claim of descent through a child between James Madison and one of his slaves...truth be told, several early U.S. presidents apart from the ones we know for sure about like Jefferson and Tyler can likely be said to have had illegitimate children with enslaved women as well. Horrific that they took advantage of enslaved people that way.
XD
Bro what the fuck
Things are gettin' scandalous.
Warren G. Harding had a child outside marriage.
It’s always a comforting sight to see adult pictures of the kids because that means that they didn’t die early.
You forgot to mention one cool thing about Teddy Roosevelt JR, He was the only US general who actually join the troops on the field during the D-day invasions. He was part of the Utah beach landing, but his men landed in the wrong place, but this landing place was actually strategically better than the initially planned location, so he redirected all other troops to that location and easily established a beachhead for the allies. He was then awarded the Medal of Honor for this.
One of my favorite facts about the Roosevelt. Teddy Jr was in his mid-50s at that point and had arthritis, so he walked up and down the beach waving his cane and shouting encouragements to the boys.
based
I didn't realize that girls were ever given titles like "The Second." I always thought that was a strictly male thing.
DUDE HOLY SHIT, HEY, YOU MAKE GOOD VIDS! What age were you, when you realized you align with the conservative party of Canada? :D
I always thought that too. This is really surprising to me
Well sadly it was often because the first girl named that died as a baby. 😣
Hey, What is this a Crossover?
Oh. Hey, J. J. Nice to see you here.
Alice Roosevelt. She was wild child.
Teddy once said "I can do one of two things. I can be President of the US or I can control Alice. I cannot possibly do both"
One of my favorite quote from her is "If you haven't got anything nice to say about anybody, come sit next to me"
Those are now my favorite quotes😅
😂😂😂
Hahahhahahaha
she also had a double mastectomy later in life, and was an outspoken activist. cool old lady and insanely pretty when she was a young woman.
I honestly bet Alice sought attention because of her deceased mother. TR was absolutely head over heels in love with Alice (mother) and when she died, he was completely devistated. He never talked of her mother and many pointed out that she was treated differently than the rest of the kids, partially based on the fact that TR said Alice reminded him so much of his first wife. She was probably looking for someone to give her attention. :(
America: “How many kids did you have?”
Jefferson: “Yes.”
John Tyler: Yes
LOL!
The fact that people are overlooking the fact that he impregnated an 14yr old is absurd lol
@@blclemons9598 it’s the fact hers are the reason he has so many, and he ain’t even free any of them, nor Sally herself 🤦🏾♀️ mfker raped a 14 year old, keeping her as a personal use slave
John Tyler:
"I can run the country or I can try to control Alice." Teddy sure had some amazing quotes. I honestly don't think he ever cared to control Alice. He likely enjoyed her fiery nature and bold personality. He was one of the great male feminists of the time. Even in his college days he was advocating for equality. He even thought women shouldn't be obliged to change their names upon marriage. He also championed legislation to prosecute men who beat their wives. He's so often portrayed at only being "intensively masculine" when in reality, he was intensively strong, independent, and full of fortitude. Is it *ANY* surprise that his daughter would take after him? We can only guess the type of woman Alice Hathaway Roosevelt would have blossomed into had she survived. She was clearly deeply loved by Teddy based on his actions and I wouldn't be surprised if Alice reminded him of the elder Alice. Also, it should be pointed out that Roosevelt's beloved mother died the same day as his wife. Double blow. You cannot fault the man his grief.
Not so fun fact about Robert Todd Lincoln, he was either present or nearby for all three presidential assassinations during his lifetime: His father Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield and William McKinley (who invited him for the event where he was assassinated). Because of these strange coincidences, he later refused other presidential invitations.
yep!
So We should Say that It is his unwanted curse
I partially blame him for Garfield's death.
booth's brother Edwin actually saved Robert from getting killed by a train before Lincoln was killed.
@@happyfacefries why

Worthy of mention is Theodore Roosevelt Jr. died in France on the frontline of a heart attack during ww2. He was awarded Americas highest military medal for bravery, the Medal of Honor.

@@zak7473 oh yeah
She was stillborn
I read that Abraham Licoln's surviving son, Robert Lincoln, was saved from serious injury and death by John Wilkes Booth's older brother Edwin Booth, who performed the best Shakespearian King Hamlet ever. It occurred between late 1864 and early 1865, so it happened before John Wilkes Booth assassinated the president. Edwin Booth didn't know who Robert was during the rescue, but Robert knew Edwin since he was a famous actor. General Ulysses S. Grant had a military staff write to Edwin Booth thanking him in saving the President's son, and that is when Edwin learned of the identity of the person whom he saved. In 1909, Robert Lincoln recalled the incident in The Century Magazine:
"The incident occurred while a group of passengers were late at night purchasing their sleeping car places from the conductor who stood on the station platform at the entrance of the car. The platform was about the height of the car floor, and there was of course a narrow space between the platform and the car body. There was some crowding, and I happened to be pressed by it against the car body while waiting my turn. In this situation the train began to move, and by the motion I was twisted off my feet, and had dropped somewhat, with feet downward, into the open space, and was personally helpless, when my coat collar was vigorously seized and I was quickly pulled up and out to a secure footing on the platform. Upon turning to thank my rescuer I saw it was Edwin Booth, whose face was of course well known to me, and I expressed my gratitude to him, and in doing so, called him by name."
It's true!
Presedent Thomas Jefferson when asked by congress about Sally Hemmings: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman!"

Well the presidents outlived their children due to plot armor.
I had no idea about Joe Biden’s tragedy. Damn. That makes the fact that he defended Hunter as he did when the opposition attacked him all the more stronger.
Well researched and well presented. Good job, Mr. Beat!
Dang so many children oofed in the early days
Trainwreck was a big oof on my part
Stable video 👍
I don‘t know why I watched this for 25 minutes without skipping a second
