I stopped watching with 18 seconds to go in the first OT and thought it was over on the foil Houston had to commit. I got the notification from ESPN saying that Houston hangs on in second overtime and I was like "Probably just an error". I then checked the final score. There it was. 92-86. I then came here for the highlights to see what happened. That was amazing!!! As a Mizzou fan, congrats Houston!!! Nice win over KU at Allen Fieldhouse. Definitely a tough place to play in.

Star player got injured during the duke game. We had them beat and then Jamal Shead hurt his ankle. We also didn’t have Arcenaux or Tuggler. If you want, look up how well Jamal Shead is doing in the Nba and then understand how bad it hurt our team to lose him against duke in the tourney
Nothing is a given, but Jamal Shead was vey much UH's MVP that year and the previous injuries made him that much more critical (Tuggler and Arceneaux...maybe one more). He was the defensive leader, the go-to scorer, floor general, team captain AND heart of the team. It is hard to argue the likely impact of his absence on that game.
Kansas is not what their ranking says..Houston is more athletic and that is the difference. Houston players look like pros. Kansas players look like college players.

It's because the refs let the players play instead of calling a foul for everything, at least more than the NBA refs! Have you seen the refs calling a foul on the guy that was guarding LeBron and even though no part of his body or hands came within two feet of LeBron the refs called a foul on him anyway?
