Can you double or triple as a transfer student, given you've completed all of the lower-division requirements at community college?

How many classes does a double major have to take per quarter?
I’m looking into double majoring in computer science (game design) and business management economics. I relate most to Julia’s case, and I want to eventually go into the UX field. Your video was very informative and helpful- thank you.

It depends a lot on the particular majors! Neither CS or math requires a huge number of classes, so for me it wasn't too intense (though it helped that I had knocked out a few intro math requirements before starting). I ended up usually taking 3 technical classes and one non-tech per semester

My son is applying to Cal, and considering a double major, can he still join the group? Is there somewhere he can go to talk to current students taking double majors?

I am wanting to triple major. I definitely want to do Neurobiology. But i was thinking on adding political science and biochem as the other 2 majors. I wanna be a surgeon, so poli sci is just an interest. But if not... what would u recommend to triple major in with one of them being neurobiology?
    Thanks!!!

It's hard to give advice on choosing majors, because it depends on what your goals are. Sometimes multiple majors can help for a particular career, but if you're aiming to become a surgeon, neurobiology is probably enough (you won't be specializing much till med school anyway). If you want to choose another major just out of interest, that's not a bad ideal; I would just recommend trying out one or two classes in that field to make sure you really are passionate about it

how you balanced studying a variety of different concepts at a semester ?

In some ways it's helpful to be able to switch back and forth between different topics! It makes it more interesting, rather than studying very similar things all at once. But with that said, you definitely don't want to overload yourself, so careful course planning, and spacing out the hard classes from your different majors, is important

How about minoring? I want to major in CS and minor in stats and econ. Would that be a bad idea and restrict me too much?

Hi! Berkeley doesn't actually have an econ minor. But there's info about the stats minor here statistics.berkeley.edu/academics/undergrad/minor
In general, in terms of how doable it is, it depends. Some minors actually require almost as many classes as the corresponding major, in which case it might not be worth it. I'd say to look at the major requirements as well as the minor requirements, and try to plan out a potential schedule

I got into Berkeley's College of L&S. Planning on majoring in business at Haas but I need a double major/dual degree as I'm an Intl student and need a STEM major to qualify for STEM OPT extension. Is CS + Haas doable? No prior CS experience. I've never written serious code. Scared af :(

I would highly recommend spending some time on preparing for CS by pre-studying. The class is fully online and will help you prepare for CS at Berkeley. Look up more videos on youtube and search on the internet for more information. Don't be scared, if you do this and put effort I guarantee you will be fine.

CS + Haas is definitely doable! With that said, if your main goal is to do business and you need the other major just for OPT, it's probably a little less work to do either Data Science or Applied Math
