I have worked for Uber and Lyft for six years, I have more than thirteen thousand trips, they are always paying less in a totally dishonest way and they will never give an increase in earnings, they have never given real benefits to drivers, no one works to earn less money, if these companies The merit and merit of the drivers who work daily to provide transportation for everyone in need will become important and necessary for passengers. Who can really recognize the work of drivers???
These unscrupulous corporations will pass on the cost to the customer. They've crowded out the taxi in most areas, so we're left with not many options.
That $33/hr is BS. They don't account for the cost of gas, rental cost if it isn't driver's car, if it is the driver's car the depreciation cliff their car make due to high mileages racked up under a very short period of time, not to mention increased car maintenance/repairs due to high mileage and increased insurance rates. When all is said and done, you also forget that $33/hr is also taxed! So when all is said and done, these drivers more likely getting around $14-15/hr.
they take 50% off the top for costs then the other 50% they take 30% off it, thats about 80% of the total fare and they keep doing upgrades and paying their ceos and fulltime staff benefits, and the drivers get nothing! nothing! not a sick day not an aspirin, not a free water!!! nothing!!!!!
trust me. no one give a shit about strike. ceo won't pay driver a penny more. passager still can get ride. and there still will at least half amount of drivers will go online. that's just the fact. if u don't believe. just use the uber get a ride see how many driver nearby😂😂😂😂

Uber & Lyft charge the driver $0.24 cents from every dollar for insurance when driver only makes 90 cents per mile on most times & zero cents per minute...and who in the right mind would agree to a $2500 insurance deductible? What Uber doing is what Craigslist is doing for free. But, Door Dash, Lyft, Uber's cut (trip take rate) is between 35% to 85% from passenger payment, unbelievable. Politicians where are you at, we know who you're in bed with? California Prop 22 should be repealed where it says to pay $0.34 cents per mile rate, who wrote this in to law? Answer is Uber, Door Dash & Lyft wrote it into law when Federal rate is $0.69 cents per mile. -- So California is a cheaper place to drive your own car for a company you work for than other states, as per corrupted California legislatures -- What corruption, what a scam. For a start, Gig apps should pay the independent contractor (the driver) same as what France passed for new 2024 rates: $1.70 per mile for the vehicle (or 1 Euro per Km) AND minimum $0.55 cents (or Euros) PER MINUTE for driver's TIME/effort. And those rates should run like a stopwatch on the phones on every second & miles (Km) driven, separately like an old taxy cab meter. Talk of hourly wage is relevant -- if the vehicle ( a company car), fuel, maintenance, insurance & etc provided by rideshare COMPANY only -- currently none of the vehicles are by rideshare companies, it's all driver owned. hence pay drivers how France is charging the passenger/customer, the old taxi company way.
to be fair, the taxi business kind of destroyed themselves. People were fed up of the bad driving, rude drivers, dirty cars, high fares, credit card machines never working or if it works they scam you and charge you hundreds on "accident". And Uber and Lyft were meant to be side gigs. People came in and made them careers and wanted to turn a contract gig into a regular job.
It's a free market. Drivers signed up voluntarily. If they don't like the net pay, they should quit. Why would Uber or Lyft change when there are hundreds of driver willing to take their place and millions of riders who want cheap rides.
that's how it was meant to be until the drivers got together and demanded benefits, hourly wages and to be treated like an employee. Somehow they want to make their own rules but you can't have it both ways.
The car rental stuff is crazy too… $260+ per week along with not getting much trips… that’s wild.

The only way is for drivers to stop working for them . This may be a hard thing to achieve but it’s a more viable option.
It's simple. If you don't like your pay, QUIT. Nobody is forcing you to work under these conditions.
You shouldn’t be getting any benefits. You are an independent contractor.
It is literally a gig position. It was always meant to be a supplemental income type of job.
These unscrupulous corporations will pass on the cost to the customer. They've crowded out the taxi in most areas, so we're left with not many options.

Of course. It's the drivers' responsibility to account for those expenses. They're contractors, after all.
That is the cost of every self-employed person. If you don’t like it, get a regular job.

$33 per hour minus expenses-$20 = $13 per hour. That’s below minimum wage 😮

There is a very important question: How long will the authorities remain silent?

Ridesharing companies need to be regulated after destroying the taxi business

Sadly, the rude comments found in this comment section show how some passengers devalue taxi services
Passengers pay a fortune to these rideshare services. It is up to the company to dole out rates accordingly.
