- France Gall, won the Eurovision Song contest of 1965 with her 'Poupée de cire, poupée de son’.
The French singer has died, aged 70, on January 7, 2018 in Paris after an infection complication caused by cancer.
France Gall, (real name: Isabelle Gall) was born in Paris on October 9, 1947 an died in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Paris, on 7 January 2018.
The song ‘'Poupée de cire, poupée de son’ was written by Serge Gainsbourg.
This recording was originally recorded and broadcast on May 22, 1965 by AVRO Television.

This is a tribute to great French singer France Gall, who died yesterday following a two-year cancer battle. She had won the Eurovision Song Contest on March 20, 1965 and visited The Netherlands two months later on May 22 to record this broadcast for AVRO Television. The single reached #5 in the Dutch Top 40 on May 1st, 1965.

Two teenagers in 60's was in competition: France Gall of France and Gigliola Cinquetti of Italy.

Voted for this tonight. So should have won! My real passion to learn the French Language began the day I discovered this song so I think of it as the starting point of my love for linguistics which is part of who I am.
Even so, killer chanson, such a shame ABBA won the vote, like they don't get enough attention.
